  New Albany has Columbus DeSales scheduled.
  
  And, OHSAA is showing Davidson vs. Toledo DeSales.

  Well, they are a quality opponent. They are D2 and finished number 1 in their region last year at 9-1

  Will be a grudge match. Much like Davidson, Toledo St. Francis loves to ground and pound, play defense and the clock.

  Amazing some don't know much about St. Francis DeSales from Toledo. 1984 Division I State Champs, and 2001 Division II State Champs, 1982 Division II Runner-Up, and many Playoff appearances/solid play, year-after-year.

  Correction to finishing number one in their region. In the state playoffs, they lost the regional final, so that'd put them second in Region 6. Next year, Toledo St. Francis (SFS) should have even a better team. They had a bunch of sophomores starting at key positions - so they are bringing back a lot of talent and size. They lose a great receiver/corner in Loy to graduation, their QB/SS Johnston, and a couple good linebackers. Their free safety this year (who was also 2nd string QB and was second on the team in tackles and broke a school record for ints) will easily replace Johnston at QB - got size, speed, good arm, and plays extremely smart. Will be interesting to see who steps up as receivers to give him targets. With SFS, you know they'll grind out the running game as their primary weapon though...and they'll have some talent returning at the tailback, running back position. All in all, I think it's going to be a better team next year...should be fun to see how they play against the larger schools like Davidson.

  SFS Fan no matter how good the qb coming in may be it will surely not be "easy" to replace Johnston he did a great job of managing games for St. Francis this year. Also the 1st string rb (name escapes me) was very dominant this year. You cant just assume those 2 spots eill be easily taken over. IMO that was possibly the best backfield in the city (or possibly whitmer)

  Running back will be a loss as well...but stand by my statement on QB - their Junior was every bit as good -faster, great arm, and smart enough to read schemes/defenses quickly. Tyler played well, no disrespect or argument about his skills...but you won't lose anything at all, and may well gain, at that position next year. There are three backs who will likely get the majority of carries - Jake W, Nate B, and another soph this year who is really fast...can't remember his name - so while no single replacement, they should have a decent amount of skill there. I'd be more worried about rebuilding the d line...

  SFSFan I understand your excitement for this years upcoming season but I also understand where NLLBEST is coming from. To replace key figures on an offense that changed the scheme of things at St. Francis as well as several DB's, LB's, and your Dline will be a test. This is based off of experience from Southview expectations from what was left in 2009 we expected our defense to be dominate and we all see how that turned out. I think though the one key figure that will be difficult to replace would be Scott Loy. Don't take this as me knocking what you are saying I'm just saying be cautious.

  Like poster above stated Loy will be the hardest to replace he was the go to guy on offense and a great shut down corner on defense. Few teams were able to get away with stacking the box last year without having to pay for it ( like Central). This year teams will be able to stack the box and not have to worry about Loy catching a 50 yard bomb.

  Trust me he lit Southview up as well many, many, many times. That would be the question for SFSFan because if I'm not mistaken didn't Johnston play receiver as well? Who will be the receiving threat for St. Francis that will keep teams honest?

  No doubt about it, replacing Loy will be a challenge on both sides of the ball. Johnston never played receiver his sr. year - QB and SS. In fact, the entire defense will be challenged, not only the line, but the linebackers and secondary are pretty much depleted wtih this year's graduating class. I guess I have not seen enough of any underclassman last year to have any idea who might step up as a receiver either. There are a few that got into many games, but Loy was always Johnston's primary target - almost exclusively. So, it will be interesting to see what happens. If they can replace or find a couple good receivers, and I mean a couple - not just one - to give their QB options, it might be even a better situation...but that is a big if - and Cromwell will still want to play primarily a run offense. Don't know any more than all you guys know...you watched the same games I saw this year...and certainly this year's team overachieved in many ways...so to expect the same from next year - I'm not sailing on that boat. I just think they will be strong in certain areas...but the kids hit the dirt in August - a mere 6.5 months away....we shall see!!!

  Not sure...he certainly doesn't have the size of a Loy...and in the games he's played, have noticed several balls thrown right to him and dropped. I've heard he is actually pretty good and doesn't drop in practices, but from what I saw last year in games, I don't think I saw more than one or two completions and a heck of a lot more drops. He's got great attitude though...came back from a heckuva hit at the end of the CCHS game last year...if he can get the game yips out of his system, he'll definitely be one of the targets.

  Actually Szegetti will step up this year and Jake W. will share carries. The nod for QB will likely go to Chandler who is a dual threat guy who will give the middle linebackers much trouble this year. The Loy/ Johnston senario will replaced as Yodgiz moves to WR. I look for some gadget plays this year and alot more passing.

  No way Yodzis moves to receiver - He's faster (fastest 40 on the team last year), better arm (stronger AND more accurate), and much better read of defenses than Chandler - the kid just doesn't make any stupid mistakes - much more of a threat both running and throwing than Chandler. You don't take your best QB and likely one of your best athletes overall and let someone who is inferior play that position just because you think you need a receiver. Chandler wouldn't be bad as a receiver, though...about 3 or 4 inches shorter than Yodzis, but still pretty quick. Will wait on RB - see how Jake's knee heals after surgery, but agree that one dominant back, like Lukasik, isn't likely next year - it will be shared. You might look for gadget plays...but don't expect to see any - we are still talking Cromwell ball!!

  SF will simply reload, they always do. St. Francis ALWAYS graduates a bunch of guys from defense and replaces them, it has been that way since Cromwell first arrived. It isnt so much the personel, but the fact that they rely moreless on smart kids to play in Craig Schaefer's defense.
  
  I have NEVER, in my time of following SF, seen so much coming back for the Knights, especially on offense. Yodizs will be the QB and they have a slew of guys that can play RB in that offense. I believe the defense only has 4 starters coming back but plenty of kids like Beach and Antonini to step up and make plays right away. If anyone moves positions, look for it to be Chandler to WR.

  You must have not be around the year after they won state where they returned everyone except for Gamby and the qb.
