And to be honest, my "recent blow to the head" comment was meant as a reminder to all....and I've said this a hundred times on here....Al Bundy IS NOT....I repeat IS NOT a Massillon fan. He is a jealous North Canton Hoover fan who trolls 16 and 17 (and I'm guessing 6 and 7) year old boys.
I think I'm only true Massillon fan left on here. I talk about the greatness of our program. Others try to bring us down and make personal attacks on others. Go Tigers!

Lol, you didn't even know who Rick Spielman was.

    Lol, no you didn't.

There are a ton of guys who were very important to the history of Massillon football that ANY Massillon fan would know but you've never heard of them.

    Dave Hodgson
    Tom Gruno
    Mike Stiner
    Jason Woullard.

A troller like you has never heard of them though. Sad.

I’m buying the wings & beer, I had mid 80’s & he had early 70’s.

You didn't even wait for my answer....something tells me your earlier post wasn't as innocent as you tried to portray it.

    Anyway, you're both right.

Massillon last won a state title in 1970 (Al will come on here and say 72, just ignore his ignorance) but....they have been nationally ranked a handful of times since then. In 82 they finished I believe 7th in the nation per USA Today. In 96 they spent the majority of the season ranked #6 in the nation (USA Today) only to lose their last 2 games. During the 01 and 02 seasons the spent some time in the national rankings though I forget what poll. And in 05 they finished ranked in the top 15 of several polls.

We won the 1972 AP state title.

Ah right on cue. I love it when I slam on you and you turn around and prove me right. It usually takes slightly longer than this but it ALWAYS happens.

    Who gives a fuck?
  • chiefy jones
Let's see....you (Salto) took the time to enter a thread with Massillon in the title....undoubtedly took the time to read all the posts....and took the time to respond....I'd say YOU care....thanks for caring.

You try to discredit our 1972 championship team. A real Massillon fan would never do that.

Once again, when the facts are against you, you have to turn to name-calling and/or fake news. The bottom line is that the 1972 Massillon Washington Tigers are the Ohio AAA state champs in the AP poll.

Who was talking about the AP poll?

    Try and keep up Alice.

In Massillon, that is how we measure state titles.

    No, it's not.

If we don't count poll titles, then we never won a title. We count poll titles in Massillon.

Look, I don't think even YOU are THAT stupid, and trust me....I think you're pretty stupid.

Who won the playoff championships pre 72?

    No tournament existed pre 1972.

    Thought this was interesting:

    Massillon (D2R7): 16.6939 pts

    Dalton (D7R25): 16.6250 pts

Obviously, Massillon is tons better than a little D7 team from farm country, and I know it has everything to do with the fact that losses don't count toward your point total, but they still get factored into your denominator. Just struck me as crazy that a 6-2 team that controls their own destiny in Division 2 is so close in points to a little D7 team (admittedly, an undefeated one who already has a home game clinched).

    The playoff championships?

You might want to rephrase that question.

You have to excuse him. He has very little understanding of Ohio football.
  • BRF
Old lore says that Dalton chose their colors in honor of Massillon and their nickname in honor of McKinley.
  • chiefy jones
Omg are you people stupid. Our ignorant friend Alice Bundy, posing as a Massillon fan wants to fictitiously claim the 72 title....still with me people? My point was, there WERE NO PLAYOFFS PRE 72....hence Massillon claiming their pre 72 titles.

I must say, a person shouldn't have to draw this many pictures for y'all.
