This was the start of unnecessary bickering.

If we had a real coach who actually stood by his team during a game and actually coached, kids would WANT to play and our football program would be back to the way it used to be....WINNERS and feared by EVERYONE! Now, people beg to play Orrville because they know the 5 plays that Orrville will run the entire game! ( none of which are passing plays!) I mean changing it up may help the team win and Orrvilles current head coach obviously doesn't want that. It's becoming an embarrassment to our prideful city. The players deserve better....
I'm not even an Orrville fan, but you're obviously part of the reason Orrville's football program is the way it is. A large number of kids these days have been babied their entire lives, and I'm guessing your kid(s) is(are) one of those. Undermining the coaching staff creates division in the locker room between players and coaches, and a lack of support is a very difficult thing for a coach to deal with. To say that a coach doesn't want to win is one of the most ignorant comments I've read in a long time, and it obviously comes from a sour, embittered individual. Winning football games is not as simple as you seem to think it is, and with a lack of support from divisive parents like you, I wouldn't be surprised if winning football doesn't come to Orrville for a while.

Let me begin by saying that anyone pathetic enough to bring up a persons child (ren) in any kind of negative way says alot about your character. For your information Dr.KnOiTall, I do not have anyone playing for Orrville or attending Orrville. I am an alumni returning to my hometown to watch what I thought to be the best high school football program in Wayne county. It's not me being unsupportive when I state the facts. As far as your statement about me having a child (ren) that is/are babied.....well let's just say you obviously do not know who you are talking to so your OWN ignorance is excused.
I will no longer waste my time replying to you. Trust me, it's better I dont. U don't bring a person's kids into the conversation.

Lol, obviously not thick-skinned enough if you take offense to the fact that children are babied today. It's truth, and it's shown in almost every aspect of their education, athletic performance, and work ethic. THAT is not being negative. THAT is stating facts. Saying a coach doesn't want to win football games...? That's not fact. That's as false as it gets. Anyways, I suggest if you have issues with the coaching or football program, you take the high road and address it in private like an adult, not go on a message board trying to tear him down.

Troll King/queen...having the girlfiend post these days?

Practices are open to the public so when your expert opinion/advice feels that it can change things...show up and talk to them! You seem to know all the answers after 2 weeks of football so speak up somewhere other than a pathetic football thread to rip the coaches!

    Truth. Well said.

Not attacking coaches....just referring to the head coach. The other coaches should be the ones to take over. THEY would be free to help the boys be their best if they could act without reserve.

First of all old fart I mean old rider I was going to stay off of here . I haven't been on here for probably 2 years don't bring me into your conversation .troll Queen has a mind of her own she can see what's going on . It doesn't take a genius to see the failures of the coaching staff on a weekly basis . Since you felt the need to bring me into the conversation I will give my opinion . First of all we're sick of seeing the same 5 plays run all night long .secondly why in the hell does a defensive coach not back the defenders off the receivers . he's playing them one yard off giving them an open invitation to beat them deep . then they have a five foot eight defender playing against the 6 foot 3 receiver and they refused to make any changes . it took him getting burned deep 3 times before anything happened .then I just can't understand why they never kick the ball deep. you give the ball to an offense that has burned you all night long over and over and you give them the ball at the 50 yard line every kick off or just beyond the 50. its mind blowing is it just that the kicker cannot kick it deep or is it the coaches have no faith in their coverage team . I don't need anybody to post for me . I just got tired of posting after every game . Especially when nothing ever changes and this isn't only after two games this is after what 3-4 years .

By the way old rider are you referring to the same pathetic football thread that you seem to be on all the time ?
  • Old Rider
Its the cards this program is dealt right now! Ever tried to make a shit sculpture out of diahrea..cant do it! We have no kicker, unless you see a Dan Stultz somewhere on the sideline that I don't. We have 26 kids to choose from and 2 of them are over 6'2". Either of which are capable DB's able to guard those 6'3" receivers stretching the field. As for the play calling..we have a new offensive coordinator and I am sure he would be open to hear your suggestions for improvement...especially from a guy with the extensive football experience like yours. Wait a minute...what year did you play? I dont recall....

Yes I am...isn't it pathetic? Especially knowing I have over 2,000 posts. I should ask my wife to start posting with a name like Old Riders Queen!
  • Series62
Old R., it's not the first time or the first person that sees coach Davault runs the same "five" plays. Having a new offensive coordinator doesn't necessarily change anything, perhaps his job is to determine which one of those "five" plays they're going to use and when. It may well be that the opponents coaches know those same "five" plays too!

Let's not forget, many of you same Orrville supporters used this same "pathetic thread" to decry one of your former basketball coaches.
  • RedRider1
LOL...first loss of the season & out comes the trolls. An Orrville tradition. Will a petition be next? Marching in the streets?

    Enjoy the long weekend.

Without question, this is one of Orrville's least talented teams. You can look at the coaching from several different angles. I thought they did make some bad play calls last night, but they scored enough points to win the game. They simply couldn't stop Triway last night. Triway had at least 3 TD drives that took around 30 seconds to complete. The Orrville kids showed tremendous heart and grit in making their run in the 3rd quarter, and the coaches definitely deserve some credit for that. I was most disappointed in the fact that 5-6 Red Riders spent the majority of the 4th quarter on the bench with cramping issues on a 65 degree night. I didn't notice any of the Triway kids cramping up.

    Perfect post.

I'll be there on Monday after school if it means The Troll family will take over practice for a little bit. Make sure you stand close to the team and yell & scream like a crazy person. That's the sign of a "great" coach. Might want to grab a kid or two by the face mask just so they know you mean business too.

You're correct I did not play two major knee surgeries took care of that . Some of the best coaches who ever coached never played the game . Sorry if my failure to play high school football doesn't qualify me as a football genius like you . I am simply stating the fact that nothing ever changes with this team .the coaches make it very simple for other teams to prepare for them . In my eyes it looked like the DB's we're playing too close to the line of scrimmage and getting burned deep . I mean a few of their throws were completed with a defender at least 15 yards away . Maybe they could have backed the defensive backs off the receiver 7 yards or so and let them read and react more to the ball instead of getting beat at the line of scrimmage . And I asked the question in my post about the Kickers inability to kick deep . I don't know why you had to attack my better half for having an opinion of her own . I guess the only two people on here who are allowed to have their own opinions are you and RedRider1 . She speaks her opinions just like you do . Just because they don't match yours that make them wrong I guess . It's the same thing every year on here no matter what kind of game the coach calls , or how the coaches prepare the kids it's always right in your eyes . I guess our eyes just see things differently .

Opinions can be wrong. And your opinion comes from a lack of knowledge of the time & effort the coaches put in...and the kids. You're demeaning the effort of all involved by shouting from the cheap seats & attacking coaches on a message board.

Get involved in the success of the kids & program. You'll be amazed at how your perception changes. You get reminded these are 16-18 yr old KIDS & coaches who are doing their very best.

All to be questioned at every turn by ingrates.

You're correct my job doesn't allow me the luxury to spend every afternoon at the practice field watching these kids practice . I am NOT attacking the kids and I guess I don't actually see firsthand what the coaches do . What I base my opinion on is what I see on the field Friday night . I see the same plays ran over and over the same inability to tackle the same players out of position . I could go on and on . Apparently in my opinion mind you all this time and effort the coaches are putting in isn't getting it done . And as far as yelling from the cheap seats I think they're all cheap seats six bucks is a bargain . I just notice that other teams seem to execute very well blocking ,tackling ,kids are not out of position . I just don't see that with this team . it's not a knock on the kids obviously they have to be coached . I don't see kids taking water right next to their head coach and players yelling for that player to get on the field when the coach is standing right there . I don't think other teams have kids that are that much more intelligent than ours. they have to be taught , and obviously in some areas there just not being taught as well as other players appear to be .

Quit making excuses. My knees...blah... blah... blah...

I hope your wife gets fired from her job. She is really bad at it.

Lets back off the Triway WR's and let them run that inside screen and bubble pass all night. You know, those passes they threw for a total of 8 yards in the air, then they ran it 60 yards up field for a touchdown. Makes a lot of sense to force their QB to make a short easy open pass.

While I'm at it, I'll completely ignore the fact that in the 3rd quarter the boys executed the "5" plays we have that led to our fullback making multiple long runs untouched until the secondary level. Looked to me that Triway had trouble defending the changes made to the "5" plays. Maybe it was dumb luck?

How about this? Triway is better than us right now. I would also enjoy it if you'd please get off your butt and talk to the soccer team and get us this deep ball kicker lurking in the halls and running around with a round ball.
