Havin FunYou are right Iced. Ain't no one stopping Miller unless he gets hurt. Backs his size with his speed are rare. He reminds of of the Hendrix kid from Waynedale about 12 years ago. You know he is coming and there isn't anything you can do to stop it.

Damn, should of been looking for the left hook instead of the big right, we got knocked the f out. Congrats to the Cats. Beast your boys better bring their A game there is going to be some pissed off Chipps a waiting. Good luck man!!!!!1_beast;1753115 wrote:NEXT! -
scotmichwell smithville had a rough game tonight... altho it didnt help that 3 starters were out with concussions QB, M LB, FS we had zero passing game.... 3 of 6 is not a passing game... i see a win next week, and then the shit hits the fan!!!!!! im a father of a starting player on the team!!!!! if they want to win county and make the playoffs. they better wake the F up!!!! they are a very good team!!! but have to play as a team and i dont see that right now!!!! they can beat anyone left in this league if they play as a team... and the way i see it that haven't yet.... and maybe they won't. either way this years wcl is really good... and the teams that make the playoffs should make a deep run!!!!!
-
Hogger53Yep, Falcons and Smithies are most likely 2 TD's behind the Cats. But the Falcons fumbled in the red zone too. So the score was accurate. Hillsdale was flat, and the Lewis kid had a huge night for the Bears. But don't count out the top teams.... period. I remember Hillsdale beating the Bears 10-9 in 2007 after we lost to the Bulldogs in OT. That same year the Dogs got beat 48-0 by the Bears. And....last year the Falcons should have "rolled" over Dalton after beating the Chipps. We know how that turned out. Smithies beating the state champ Cats...etc.. Just don't overlook anyone in the league.
-
Hogger53Miller is MVP of the league BTW.... he should have won it last year.
-
Havin FunYou could be right hogger but after 40+ years of playing and watching this game, the closest thing to a sure winning formula in high school football is a good line and a big, fast back. Norwayne has that and when you don't need to pass to win, you usually win. Just ask the Bears. They could not run when they had to last week and it cost them the league title in my estimation. Chippe Bears game next week is for second place. I hope not but after what I saw tonight, I would bet a large amount of money on the Cats running the table.
-
iced earthSure....still have to play the games and anything can happen. Second could very well be up in the air if Waynedale beats the Chipps. Waynedale's coach has a history of finding ways to lose games they shouldn't. Like the above mentioned 10-9 loss to Hillsdale.
-
Havin FunI do recall the 10-9 Waynedale loss to Hillsdale. The kids played like CRAP for the whole game. The coach made a questionable call and that is the reason everyone wants to point out is why the team lost. I have said it before on here in past years and will say it again. Coach Zuercher is one of the finest people in the high school game today. He is a role model for kids and lives out what he teaches. Waynedale could not have a better coach for their team.
That said, yes Waynedale could lose to Smithville or northwestern. Both teams have the talent to win on any given Friday.
Next weeks game will be great. -
Buck sweepI'm just laughing at all the full predictions for the end of the season haha. the same guys have been predicting all year and haven't been right once.
-
Havin FunHere is my pre-league game predictions. I am sticking with every one along with the order of finish. Chippewa and Waynedale possibly tying for second. Every team already has one loss on the season. Tear me apart once I am proven wrong Buck! haha It is all in fun. Even for the guys who don't get it right!?!?
1a. Norwayne - when you have a huge back and a good line, you will be hard to handle
1b. Chippewa - Best QB in league. 3 easy non-conf games so we just wont know until league play
1c. Waynedale - After Tusky Valley wins big last night, Bears rough up Ridgewood and then week 3 against Triway, Waynedale hasby far the toughest pre-league schedule. If they go 3-0, watch out.
1d. Smithville - a joke for the first three games. I still think they contend due to a great running game.
2. Hillsdale - will go 1-3 against the top four league teams
3. NW - They are just better than those below them
4. Rittman - gets one league win against Dalton
5. Dalton - rough year for the Bulldogs
I don't see anyone going 10-0 -

Well when the lights went off at Norwayne it was just logical to think the game was over.Alum01;1753239 wrote:Pops is has been waiting for someone to say something about his boy all year and that's all he's got? iced earthI have no doubts he's a good guy, and good role model...etc. etc. Not questioning that at all. But Waynedale has lost a lot of games in his regime they simply should not of. That's just the truth.

Bears are having a nice year! Is it the Jimmie's and Joe's or the X's and O's? :RpS_flapper::RpS_w00t::-/ -

First, when working with kids, what is most important? A coach who is a good role model? Or MAYBE a few more wins over ten years?iced earth;1753263 wrote:I have no doubts he's a good guy, and good role model...etc. etc. Not questioning that at all. i do recall a few pass plays in the red zone that were intercepted in the end zone. I get that. What happened Friday night inside the five yard line? Your star back fumbled the ball into the end zone. If the Bears had lost the game, I guarantee somebody would have blamed the coach for not passing in that situation.
Most. of the losses I have seen at Waynedale over the years have been due to dropped passes, fumbles, stupid penalties at the wrong time, etc.
Done with my rant. Have a great day all. -

It is always about the Jimmy and the Joe's everyone has similar X's and O's to be honest. More importantly are the Jimmy's and the Joe's attitudes coming into the sport that make a team special. Most coaches have little to no control over the attitude of their players before they get them. -

Speaking of heroes...I know that I saw a post on here from Hunter86...didn't I? Where did it go? As soon as someone mentioned our coach he started salivating and couldn't wait to post something. -

Great post!
Like I have ALWAYS said on here...it will ALWAYS boil down to the players (Jimmys/Joes) making plays. Yes...coaches get them prepared and can make adjustments during the game...but NONE of that means a thing if the kids can't execute when it matters. -

And WHO has the biggest influence on the attitude of the players?!?!?!?
