A friend of mine just texted me and states that the scrimmages are on Saturday the 16th vs. Springfield and on the following Friday vs. Niles. He does not know the times or where they are being played. But the information as far as the dates comes from a reliable source.

I hope your guess on the time for the second one is right and it's not in the morning or I may miss it.

    Any news on scrimmages?

Rozum seems to feel good about his team this year. Seeing the difference already. Senior leaders. he would never have said it if he didn't mean it. And they called him a legend. that is respect. I give respect to the the seniors this year. feeling good for the season. Now do not take my words out of context. I have no way of knowing if the red devils will even win a game this year or not. But i can see its a process and its early and it seems to me the seniors already know about his past reputation! And on sept 5th i think if the teams under rozum show up to pay tribute to him. This could show this generation of kids just how much respect and success they can have under him.

I checked Struthers's 2015 schedule on the OHSAA page. At the moment, there are only 2 games on the slate. Liberty in week 1. Canfield in week 5.

Struthers/Campbell back in week 10 next year?

I'm assuming that's because of conference realignment. You'll be in the white division so that gives you six games in tier (Niles, Poland, Hubbard, Lakeview, Jefferson Area, Ashtabula Edgwood). Plus one up (Canfield)and one down (Liberty) that's eight. I don't know how they plan out the other two but hopefully it moves to week ten against Campbell. I said it last year that there might be a time when Struthers and Campbell don't play. With realignment it's up in the air.

I know... Those games just aren't on the schedule yet. The dates and everything probably still need to be figured out.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if this is the last time for Struthers/Campbell, for the foreseeable future. Although, if I were going to bet on it, I'd bet it's on the schedule next year. We'll see how the season goes...

I suspect if it brings a gate still it will be on the schedule. I dont see this conference in this current format lasting too long. Obviously the heads of this conference have not learned anything from history. The simple fact that there are multiple teams competing for two conference championships in two different tiers is asinine. Any news on the Devils? I havent heard much positive in the past couple days.

I'm hearing positives from a few friends that have attended the practice's. And Rozum spoke to reporters for a preview!

    I agree with that.

I do see this still drawing a gate... and I never liked the Super Conference idea. It's not horrible when the conference is competitive, but it completely waters down the schedule when the conference is in a down year.

Seen the 21 Action News report on Campbell. http://www.wfmj.com/category/179433/video-landing-page?clipId=10458679&topVideoCatNo=127564&autoStart=true The video starts off with cleveland browns news then gets into campbells preview.

Looks like 38 players came out this year. Not bad at all. Now how many are now still at practise and showing up everyday. Sucks i can't get down to check this out. But hopefully we stay healthy and confident. Kinda wish campbell didn't have Struthers as the first game. Would be nice to play a team that is not as strong as Studders! Cause this game was always big for Rozum and his teams in the past. And they brought everything to the game. There is no tape for this season to get ready for week one other then some scrimmages.

Really? Good luck to coach Sikora and his staff! He gave us some great seasons. the 2010 season was just a thrill to go too. the whole season other than the salem and 2nd playoff of course!

Yea, last was even better. I wanted to poke my eyes out! It was putrid!

    lakeview? interesting.

He is, along with at least one of his assistants. I saw them both in the background on the Lakeview tv preview clip. Lakeview will be the team to beat in the AAC-National Division, not because Sikora has joined the staff, but because they have a lot of talent coming back from last year.

Streetsboro earlier today.... (no word yet on how it went)
Steubenville sometime next week... (I don't know when, just know it's next week)

    How did the devils look?

Struthers played a tough streetsboro team, i know struthers scored when the chains were moving. Streetsboro did not. Defense looks good and the soph. qb looks pretty solid as of now. 1-0 scrim tally for the cats

Devils just look inexperienced. Everyone on the team is learning something brand new. Theyre working extremely hard, and I really mean that. I actually feel bad for some of these kids lol. These kids are going through an old school training camp right now. I just see the inexpierence being a problem. It is like you have no returning starters. Everyone is a rookie. How was Streetsboro? I know they were a 500 team last year. Hard to get a lot from a first scrimmage.

Like coach Rozum said during his tv interviews, "all of the kids have to earn their positions because it's a fresh start." Trust me, Coach Rozum will have some of these kids playing a different position than they did under Sikora.

Physically. Much stronger. They have definitely prepared their bodies to take a beating but also distribute a beating. I think its night and day from last year. I have seen big strides even this summer. On the otherhand, there is another aspect of the game which is intellectual. It is not second nature to them. Theyre still learning. When its second nature you just let the physical tools loose. We are not there yet. Lets be honest, there is not a single linebacker in the system that has learned to read. Not one. It has never been taught under Ryan, Bayuk, or Sikora. These linebackers are finally learning what should have been taught at lower levels. It will take time, but thank God its at least being taught.
