I agree. Big Red has a huge fan following and will only make the league more prosperous. I also agree that Reno and the others involved in the cover-up absolutely must go. I for one do not label everyone in Steubenville a corrupt individual. If Steubenville is eventually accepted, I would prefer to see them as a member in all sports, not just football.FairwoodKing;1437726 wrote:My best guess is that Big Red will be accepted. There is just too much money involved. And as far as discrediting everyone else, Big Red will get over this. Once we get rid of Reno, the school will heal real fast. -
Gardens35If Steubenville gets into the conference, I'd like to see them in Tier 1 football...

Definitely. If Big Red can play even with Massillon and Ursuline, we can play even with Fitch, Boardman, and Harding. It would make a great tier. The crowds would be huge, the games would be great, and the bands would shine. And, oh, the money involved! It's a non-lose situation for all the teams involved.Gardens35;1438323 wrote:If Steubenville gets into the conference, I'd like to see them in Tier 1 football... -
Bear61Steubenville was not invited. Edgewood, Py Valley, Brookfield, East, and Boardman were invited.

However, it was mentioned that the reason they weren't invited now was because the primary priority was getting the Mahoning Valley teams in first, in order to develop the framework they wanted, and it could allow them to go back and invite Steubenville.Bear61;1438510 wrote:Steubenville was not invited. Basically, since all of the big schools accepted and they were able to create the 3 team top tier, now they can go back and offer Big Red admission into that tier.
Like I said, Steubenville was pretty much provisionally denied, because it's a 2 step process. Step 1 was the local schools, step 2 will be add Steubenville football to Tier 1, most likely. -

They would have to go into that tier. The entire purpose of that resurrected SVC tier is to shield the Valley D2/D3 schools from ever having to play anyone good outside of one another, so you know that's the only way they get in.Gardens35;1438323 wrote:If Steubenville gets into the conference, I'd like to see them in Tier 1 football...
I know Poland has scheduled Big Red recently, but you know they want no part of that every year. Steubenville in T1 and Poland in T2 allows them to schedule it here and there, though.
