WEEK 8: CAMPBELL MEMORIAL ( 4-3 ) AT LAKEVIEW ( 4-3 )

  This is a very important game for both teams. Campbell is 9th in region 17, D-5, while Lakeview is 14th in region 13, D-4. Both are also chasing Liberty for the AAC title. Campbell defeated Champion 35-29 in overtime last week. Lakeview lost to Jefferson Area. A loss by Campbell vs. Lakeview will all but eliminate its hopes to make the playoffs. Although Lakeview is 14th, the Bulldogs have a game vs. Liberty in week 9. So the Campbell game is very important for the Bulldogs too with Liberty looming the week after. Your thoughts?

  No doubt this is the key game of the year. Last year and the year before was Girard. But wow how that has changed. A win could put Campbell at minimum 8th. with help could shoot them as far as 6 or 7th. this game is big BIG!!!!. Campbell can produce points. But still lack on defense.. It seems that with a few key members gone the team has something to prove. If there ever was a time for this team to rise up it better happen Friday! Its gonna be hard on the devils with Lakeview. there well coached. There is no distractions for them. And they will be ticked off with the loss to Jefferson. Its gonna be a great game to get out and watch.

  Win out and campbell should get in, can't go down early like they did against Liberty, toss up game to me.

  campbell has played lakeview only 3 times: (2003) lakeview-28 campbell-13; (2008) lakeview-42 campbell-19; (2009) lakeview-28 campbell-27; its going to come down to the defense, they need to show up from the get go. this lakeview team isnt as talented as some of their previous teams, but its at their place, and its trumbull county, dont think i need to say anymore.

  This forum's been super quiet for a long time. Better during basketball season.

  I'm hoping Campbell keeps it going. With a little luck they could make the playoffs.

  Honestly after an emotional win, you would think there'd be more excitement and talk leading up to this game. Gotta play 4 quarters and execute. Lakeviews totally beatable.

  lakeview was not the better team. no way in hell should campbell have lost this game, especially with the way the defense played in the second half. the defense had to have sacked lakeviews qb at least 10 times, they played their a**es off! all i'm going to say after this inexcusable loss is that the "rumors" will definitely be amped up now.

  Should Ohio State bring back Earle Bruce too? How about Marty Schottenheimer for the Browns? Maybe there's another coach from 20+ years ago that we could bring back for you.

  Look at the 2010 team. Was that talent or was that leadership, heart and pride?
  
  You had a special group of seniors that banned together in MIDDLE SCHOOL and were determined to restore pride in this program.
  
  These coaches would not be where they are without the kids, but the kids wouldn't have gotten there without the coaches.
  
  Bottom line. These guys took over a program NOBODY WANTED and brought it back to life!!

  listen scoreboard i understand you like this staff and they are great people but the reality is this isnt my dream for campbell memorial football. you can remind us how long ago that was and continue to feel that only this staff can do this job. you can say it was 20 years ago yada yada yada, but the proof is in the 99 team. half a summer and a 10-0 season. rozum is the only answer to return us to glory, mediocrity should never be the goal. you also are incorrect about one thing, bayuk was the one who took this job when nobody else wanted it. sikora got the job when rozum wanted it back. rozum was told not to apply because they were going to keep this staff in place. ohh also because a bunch of the players cried that theyd quit if sikora wasnt kept on. and i say this with all confidence, if rozum would have been given the job we wouldve already played in a regional championship. to even think we can accept this defensive output any longer is sickening. time to move on. let me tell you, everybody in campbell wants rozum back. EVERYONE. i walk into bman giant eagle and strangers from campbell see my shirt and ask is rozum going to come back lol this is not dig towards sikora but why eat a bacon cheeseburger when you can have filet mignon. lets not forget, this all started when sikora leaked that he wanted out at the end of the year and he planned to take his whole staff. take the bums, take carney too. enoughs enough. sikora brought this on himself. rozum is back in the building its time to bring back the glory.

  I also believe it may be time for a change. Our goal should be not only to make the playoffs but to get deep into the playoffs. No it's not 1989 or 1999. But maybe the mentality of this football program needs a boost. I told sonnyblack at the game last night that there is no reason Campbell should not be dominating this league year in and year out. It's not exactly the most competitive league in the state. We are soft. We are not very physical. We are not very strong. And when we face a team with a good strength and conditioning program it shows.

  I agree with you, scoreboard. No matter what these coaches achieve, it won't be good enough for omemorialhigh. If Rozum came in next year and didn't do well, omemorialhigh would still be blaming Coach Sikora! Please tell me how the coaches lost the game on Friday? They didn't fumble, they didn't throw any intercerptions, they didn't miss any tackles. And before you start in on the play calling, you should know that most of those QB keepers were audibles by the QB himself. Sorry to spoil that complaint for you, omemorialhigh. I'm sure you wanted to blame Coach Zetts. But you probably didn't know that since you're not quite the insider you think you are.

  listen im not blaming any particular play on sikora or zetts or anything. i am just saying that rozum can do a better job, im sorry but thats just how i feel. i think most people would agree with me. take one of rozums worst teams...do you know what they would do one of sikoras best teams? but thats not a fair comparison in all reality. the product on the field just isnt close. if you were old enough to watch those teams you would know. i am sure you were not. i also am sure that you have close ties to this staff. all understandable. i respect your opinion. all im saying is, when sikora leaves the job should be given to rozum. sikora is leaving. also please lets not act like sikora hasnt applied for any other jobs while he has been here, yes he didnt take the struthers job but he has applied for other jobs. i will not name specifics because it is well known. so to sit here and say sikora is live and die campbell is not true. if something better comes along he will take it. red and black how many points have the devils given up this year by the way? yes we can push blame on the kids, but can we push all the blame? do the coaches have any responsibility for the product that is on the field? how weak are we? ironman is not an offseason lifting program...it simply should be a supplement to a good lifting program. its obvious we are weak and have been out of shape all year long. whos fault is that? wheres the aggressiveness and toughness? i can walk down to the field any day in the summer at 2 o clock and the place is empty. we dont have doubles. yes i know we practice then take a break and practice again. those arent true doubles. i guess the thinking was that the kids dont come back for the other practice! well whos fault is that??? kick them off then! and we wonder why the crazies ran the asylum last year. coach sikora is a great guy, even a good coach...but when you have the opportunity to bring a state championship caliber, hall of fame coach to your program you do it every single time. bring rozum back.

  Tough loss. Even tougher with all of the rumors out there. Does Sikora want to leave? If he does would Rozum apply? Would the Board approve him? I would like to see Rozum coach again even if it wasn't at Campbell. I don't want it to be how it was before Bayuk got here.

  I thought he wasn't allowed to be a coach and administrator at the same time. That's why he stepped down from being Asst Principal the last time.

  All I know was he was Asst Principal during the time he coached the late 80's and 90's... Unless something changed..... But i have to agree. Rozum is got to be feeling the urge again. He has to be sitting there thinking wow if i only had this talent what we could have accomplished. But i didn't think he would ever want to return. since Mickey is gone. And also i believe Dean Said Arguably the best Defensive coach i the last 40 years got health problems. I mean i could not imagine Rozum without his guns near his side. And taking a forth stint. You have to ask can Rozum take this type of kids and turn them into the power house teams we all wish again to see? Will he have enough players to field a team after doubles Take the Hughes Brothers, Probably the best talent that we would have next year. I cant even imagine them even getting through one of Rozums doubles. I know. I use to watch almost all the practices ... there patty cake right now and pail to compare to what i use to watch...

  Campbell's problems:
  
  1. We are neither strong or physical enough.
  2. We are not disciplined.
  3. We have zero senior leadership. None.
  4. We don't have enough players with heart and pride.
  
  I do believe that the first three issues can be corrected. The fourth issue is related to the third. If we had seniors who could lead, starting with offseason conditioning and throughout the season, we might have more players who show dedication and heart. Also, Campbell did not have enough freshmen to come out for football this season to field a team.

  Bottom line. Campbell will not find a coach that is going to want to deal with those "attitudes"... Sikora leaves, CMOS struggles for years.
