Rozum is got to be feeling the urge again. He has to be sitting there thinking wow if i only had this talent what we could have accomplished. But i didn't think he would ever want to return. since Mickey is gone. And also i believe Dean Said Arguably the best Defensive coach i the last 40 years got health problems. I mean i could not imagine Rozum without his guns near his side. And taking a forth stint. You have to ask can Rozum take this type of kids and turn them into the power house teams we all wish again to see? Will he have enough players to field a team after doubles Take the Hughes Brothers, Probably the best talent that we would have next year. I cant even imagine them even getting through one of Rozums doubles. I know. I use to watch almost all the practices ... there patty cake right now and pail to compare to what i use to watch...
I wouldn't mind seein Jimmy Haz coach the D though. Hell I think he should coach the D no matter who's runnin the program.

Scoreboard... I SECOND THAT!!! or as Head Coach if everything that is rumors to happen like Sikora leaving and if rozum don't want to coach. This offseason will be very interesting! . I think if Rozum does get a chance and takes the job. I believe he will call on his ex players to run the d line and O line.. I would hope so. Also Haz would be a perfect fit for rozum for D coach,

Seems like coaches just don't want to be there anymore, started with the Basketball coach.
• reddevil90
well i don't think its that all the way... Trust me there are People itching to get there chance with Campbell.
• Ohio
Might be true but soon as they find out what they are dealing with all want to run out, at least thats what it looks like from the outside looking in.

my opinion is that it will take a campbell guy to earn these kids respect. i think sikora made a big mistake last year with hughes patton smith and rushton. it sent a bad message. i remember rozum telling a young shawn patton to get the blank out the lifting room and not to come back. yes shawn patton. he kicked one of the best players off the 89 team. you have a very short time to make a first impression, and if you give them an inch they will walk all over you. the potential d coord could be a great one. could bring back the toughness and hard nose attitude weve been lacking. im sure he coaches like he played, and that would be a great sight to see. im sure rozum already knows this.

um season is not even over yet. i think everyone needs to calm down. things will work themselves out IF sikora decides to leave. i dont think any of these guys appreciate their names being thrown out there when a coach is still coaching the team during the season! lets just let the process play itself out. geez

Off the coaching subject for a second. I was looking at the video at myvalleysports for Campbell's game at Lakeview. They show some plays where you can see the visitors side and it looked near empty. Maybe a dozen or two on the Campbell side.
Have things slipped this bad that fans don't even go to away games anymore? Especially considering Campbell still had a chance at the playoffs going into the game, you'd think more would've shown up. I'm sure it's got to be disappointing that the town doesn't make the effort to watch them play.

The last two times Campbell played at Struthers the place was packed. What gives now? Are the fans that apathetic towards their team? Just wondering.

your eyes weren't deceiving you, there wasn't many people there. you would've seen a bigger turnout if they were undefeated, or had only 1 loss (sad to say). the last time i witnessed a good away crowd from the campbell fans, not counting the struthers game, was last year at girard. when they played their last playoff game at ravenna stadium, it was a pretty good turnout, but the student support is absolutely nonexistant. i see more students at the bball games. i also know alot of people are very disappointed with the way this season has gone, no way this team should be 4-4.

I agree. With the talent Campbell has, hard to believe they're not 8-0 The only game they weren't in was Liberty. They very easily could've beaten us in the first game if they didn't fall so far back early in the game.

Good luck to the Devils these next two weeks. Both are winnable games.

No way should they be 8-0. Sorry, there's just no way. The QB is a player, but they aren't more talented than Struthers or liberty.. I picked them to go 6-4 pre season. That's how they'll finish.

My assessment of the season would be a 7-3 finish at best or a 6-4. There is no way I would have expected Campbell to be 8-0 at this juncture. Looking over the schedule during the offseason, I envisioned Struthers, Brookfield, LaBrae, Lakeview, and Jefferson Area to be tough games for Campbell. Campbell has won two of those five games. I was wrong about Liberty. In fact, many of us were. I also expect Girard to give Campbell a game. Campbell was blown out vs. Brookfield. The game was close until the last two minutes of the first half. Liberty simply had too much speed for a Campbell team that does not have the team speed most Red Devil teams are known for. I believe poor conditioning contributed to the loss vs. Struthers. It was a warm evening. And some of the Campbell kids were gassed by the mid point of the third quarter. That being said, I expected Campbell to be better than 4-4 heading into week 9.

Hell I agree i didn't even think they would be 8-0... I figured there losses would be Brookfield Jefferson<------- I was wrong. But thought they would beat struthers.<------I was wrong again... i figure right now we would be sitting at 6-2... <------ wrong again.... If we finish 6-4 and still get in i will be shocked. Girard will be more ready the us.. sorry but i see it coming .... We should still win, But not by much... Also even if we do slip in to the playoffs. Is that going to be such a good thing playing the states number one team in div 5? Well of to get ready for the drive to the game...

Actually yes since columbiana went down again tonight. Still a chance.
• soupcitysoldier
i dont see south range or columbiana winning this week, but i do see that beverly team jumping campbell. we will prob only have one team on our schedule that we beat win next week and they have alot of secondary points they will pick up. i havent done the numbers but i dont think it looks that great. we prob need them to lose. can anyone verify?
• oldschoolreddev
We need to win first, and South Range, Columbiana and Fort Frye all need to lose. Hats off to Coach Sikora, his staff and the players. With all the adversity and negative talk, the team is in position to make the playoffs. This is something all Campbell fans should be proud of.

Well said, Soup. Let's let the coaches finish coaching the season without all these rumors. Most of them are bull anyway. I hate to even respond to them, however I must correct one big one. In post #15 omemorialhigh claims that Coach Rozum was told not to apply when Coach Bayuk left. I can assure you that he has never expressed his desire to coach again to anyone in authority at the school. Coach Rozum has been, and always will be, welcomed back to the program. To imply otherwise is simply not true. Do you really think you're the lone genius out there who thinks Rozum is a great coach? How arrogant are you? We all know of his great record. But to say that the school turned him away is just plain wrong. Please don't post rumors as facts. It's not fair to anyone.

Bigdean, sorry for not getting back to you. Very busy. We lost 1 or 2 players due to grades, some to injuries, but most were kids who either quit or were tossed for not showing up for practice.

No problem. I assumed that was what happened. I was already aware of the ineligibles due to grades. My concern was with the others that fell off the roster. Regarding Rozum, of course he would be a good fit. In fact, if by some chance Sikora and staff were to leave, I firmly believe that Rozum would be one of the few, if not the only coach who could keep the program on its current course of getting back to where we all want the program to be. I have stated time and time again on this very forum and through word of mouth discussions with friends that it's been 13 years since Rozum has coached. He is nearing age 60. His former offensive line coach has passed away. His former defensive coordinator has health issues of his own. So if Rozum were to EVER return to coaching it would be with some new assistants in key spots. From my perspective, let's focus on the now, win on Friday and hope the other games impacting our playoff chances go the way we need them to. Making the playoffs would be another step in the right direction. This season has been another one full of adversity. And the current staff has the kids playing on Friday with a chance to play in week 11.
• omemorialhigh
i hope you are correct red & black, but unfortunately a former asst of rozums told me this was so. no need to name names. you would definitely know more about this situation than i would. also the BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG question is this...red & black obviously you are close with coach sikora. last year if we would have made the playoffs, at least 4 major players would have been ineligible for the playoffs because of grades. the first nine weeks ends the last day of season. that list included jales hughes. how does that even happen, but anyways has the staff stayed up on the kids grades in the event everything falls our way friday and we make the playoffs? or if we do make the playoffs will we find out half the team is ineligible? could you imagine if we made the playoffs last year and our all state back was ineligible along with other key players? cant blame it all on the coach, but definitely cannot happen under any circumstances. i hope we dont get a surprise if we make the playoffs. i have heard keeping up with student grades has been lackluster this year.

^^^or FIXING them. Food for thought.
• Red & Black
I don't know anybody's grade situation. That's confidential. You are correct about last year. Even with a few coaches in the building you can't make a kid do his schoolwork. No grades- no play. The fact that those kids would have sat out last year shows what a dumb comment scoreboard just made.
