That I do not know... I do understand that Macon missed a few games, but that it part of football. If he were in the running for Mr. Football, they wouldn't award him bonus points because he missed a few games... Its just the way it is.captvern wrote: Just curious what were their yards per game. I know Macon missed a few games did Nogay? -
captvernI never said that they would or did take that into consideration. Just asked a question since DM had only 372 yards running and 10 touchdowns.

Al Capone
No, He is not my son or relative. Yes I am dead serious that he is better than Pettaway. Lets see some numbers. And the fact that he played every down of every game on both sides even cements my argument more.captvern wrote: Are you really saying that the Otto kid from Creek is better than Petteway from Big Red? Are you serious Clark? I hope that you are just trying to get a rise out of people and that you honestly dont believe that. Even if that is your son or relative, take off the mustard and ketchup(ICHS colors) colored glasses. -
sonofsamAl,
You trying to start a war? LOL -
snyds113
I was with you on some of your points but not that Otto is better than Shaq.Al Capone wrote:

Al CaponeI am just saying that because Pettaway is from big red doesnt make him better than a kid from Creek. You big red fans still havent given any facts to say he is better.
If I start a team tomorrow I would pick Otto over Pettaway every day. -
Al CaponeAnd when I say facts I mean grades too.
-
Al CaponeSomebody said earlier about seeing where they are at in 4 years. I will take that bet too.
-
snyds113Shaq will go to a D1 school.Otto will not.
-
Darkon
4 years from now has nothing to do with this award.Al Capone wrote: Somebody said earlier about seeing where they are at in 4 years. I will take that bet too.
I am also interested in the stats so I can judge for myself. -
Al Capone
Dont count on that! As far as stats, there are more qualified people from Creek on here than me that should be able to get that info. I checked the chop but it isnt updated.snyds113 wrote: Shaq will go to a D1 school.Otto will not. -
captvernIts funny when they went head to head Shaq was the best defensive player on the field and Jesse Birden was number 2. How many tackles did the Otto kid have when he played Big Red? I think the coaches from West Virginia and Michigan State ought to hire you since they have offered Shaq and not Otto . Big mistake by them i guess.
-
snyds113If this award was based on stats then so be it.I didn't research these awards and how they are decided.I didn't vote online.I can't bitch about it.If these awards are based on stats then obviously the guy with the highest stats should win.
-
Al CaponeIf this award is based on voting online then I could have won. If it is awarded based on stats then Otto should have been ahead of Pettaway. That is all I am saying. Dont make this a bigred award each year.
-
Darkon
If not stats then how would you decide?snyds113 wrote: If this award was based on stats then so be it.I didn't research these awards and how they are decided.I didn't vote online.I can't bitch about it.If these awards are based on stats then obviously the guy with the highest stats should win. -
The EqualizerBeing upset about someone winning a popularity contest is like asking for a recount in a student council election. We all know who's jock channel 9 rides and who they don't.
-
bigredbaseball0It's as simple as this, if either Otto or Nogay went to Big Red (and this is hypothetical/comparison purposes, no need for any recruiting/open enrollment talk) neither would start at their respective positions.
-
snyds113
Well if you were suppossed to be voting on stats and didn't that would make you an ignorant voter. And if they were supposed to do that then they should have just made the person with the highest stats the winner without a vote.Darkon wrote:

Al CaponeTo all the big red fans on here I am not knocking Pettaway. He is a fine player. I am just saying that he never got any ovac awards but yet he wins this one. If it comes down to a popularity contest then they should do away with it.
-
DarkonSo these awards are just popularity contests?
Then why are we suprised? -
Al Capone
If you dont think these 2 kids could play for big red you my friend are a communist bastard.bigredbaseball0 wrote: It's as simple as this, if either Otto or Nogay went to Big Red (and this is hypothetical/comparison purposes, no need for any recruiting/open enrollment talk) neither would start at their respective positions. -
september63Congrats to D. Macon..............Good Luck at CMU!!
-
snyds113You shouldn't take anything News 9 does personal. The squeaky voice weather girl said it was the middle of November yesterday.
-
DarkonMost of the coverage for high school sports in this area by WTOV and The Harald Star is 90% Big Red!
So how would anyone expect another high school athlete in this area to win a popularity contest? -
The EqualizerYou leave the weather elf alone!
