So you can legally supply alcohol and tobacco to minors as long as they don't drink or smoke it?

Can I legally buy pot if I don't smoke it? What a joke.
  • sherm03
Are you guys insinuating that there is some sort of conspiracy between Mooney and the Youngstown Police/Prosecutors office? If so, I have officially heard it all now.

    SMH.

I have no dog in this fight, but this:
the diocese could handle this better than we could," Foley said. And Foley said provided all those involved comply with the Diocese' decisions, no criminal charges will be filed.
    Is a joke

    This One?

[LEFT]"Mooney principal John Young said on Thursday that he didn't learn about the smoking until later and discovered one or more dads of the players had passed out the cigars just before the celebration. Smoking tobacco on school grounds is prohibited under both state law and Mooney policy."

    Or this one?

    "
Police stress they do not believe the students ended up drinking the alcohol. But they also confirmed some of the adults involved were not very forthcoming in their initial statements, but ultimately had a change of heart after investigators explained the seriousness of the situation."

    Or how about this one?

"In the meantime, 41 members of the team, most of them juniors and seniors, all have admitted they were holding or smoking cigars that night two weeks ago and all have taken one-day suspensions."

I guess I have 2 pretty obvious (at least to me) questions.

    1) What kind of idiot would think they could hand out alcohol and tobacco in a locker room full of minors and not be breaking any school policy or law?

    2) Most important of all, where were the coaches during all of this?

Oh, I get it, it's only a conspiracy when Diebold or Affinity health care transfer an employee and their kids end up at Massillon.

Like they wernt drinking any of it .. CMON man .. you cant supply 25 bottles of bubbly into a high school locker room .. Just another example of the arrogance

Show me where I specifically have said anything about it. I have only called you out on your hypocrisy when you say St. Ignatius "recruited" a QB from Oregon when you have one yourself on your team. Other than that, I have never claimed any ill-dealings about your out-of-state-born QB.

I wonder if OHSAA has any rules against alcohol and tobacco being used by players in a locker room, could they hand down any penalties? I am asking this because they seem to stick there nose in everything else when it comes to high school sports.

We had to sign a paper from the ohsaa about forfieting eligibility if we were caught using either if them.

The Principal admits it was wrong and against the law and school policy but he won't discipline the students involved. As for the alcohol nothing is mentioned.

This is is why many ppl despise the parochial schools. There IS certainly a double standard being applied here.
If OHSAA has ANY nuts they get involved.

That was 10 years ago, I assume the same rules exist, don't know though

For Heavens sake, wake up people. Nothing is going to come of this. IT'S MOONEY.

If the OHSAA turns their heads to all of the illegal activity of the parochial schools as a whole, they're not going to all of a sudden throw down the hammer and get real strict.

Dan Ross: "Listen guys, we've turned our heads to Moeller getting kids from 48 states....We've turned our heads to Ignatius getting kids from 88 Counties....But we draw the line here."

    Sorry guys....It AINT gonna happen.

You telling me the coaches didnt know of this crap . Why didnt they stop this chit? cmon man 25 bottles of champaign..
Who the heck do they think they are the New York Yankees .
What we have here is the Yankees in the movie "The Bad News Bears " Thats what I compare Mooney to.

Your penchant for hyperbole never ceases to impress.

Just curious...where was your outrage when Mike Mauk let 3 confirmed criminals suit up for an entire season?

There was no outrage because I didn't know about it. Feel free to fill me in.
