Updated Kettewell Stadium?
-
swooshWhile at a boosters meeting at the Indian Creek High School (ICHS) yesterday, I heard that if they get the green light on the brand new high school project, they will most likely do some long-awaited renovations on our beloved Kettewell Memorial Stadium. Right now, the ICHS building is the 2nd oldest building in Ohio (built in 1936). What renovations should they make. But in my opinion, they should just make a new stadium where the new high school. The renovations are due to the amount of teams that use the stadium.

swooshI say:
1.Repaint whole stadium
2. Add TV screen
3. Add some seating in section near scoreboard
4. Add press box on visiting teams side
5. Add locker rooms
6. Freshly cut new grass
7. Add another concession stand -

Doesn't sound like much would change. -
lastcallThe state only pays for the school not renovations to the stadium, the school district needs to pay for that on their own.

By that I mean the new high school. Another company would pay some of it.lastcall;1021635 wrote:The state only pays for the school not renovations to the stadium, the school district needs to pay for that on their own. -
passwordRumor is that everything will be moved to Mingo. The master plan a couple of years ago was to build the new high school in Mingo also, along with a new stadium on the school owned property behind Hills Elem. That comment came from a board member a couple of years ago. I wonder what will happen when they have the planners claim that it will be best to build on school property in Mingo and not Wintersville, do you think the levy will pass then, I don't, but they will wait till they get the levy to pass and then they will make the announcement about the change in plans. You willjust need to sit back and watch how this plays out, you will be amazed.

MANAZEPersonally I would love to see it built in Mingo and have everything in one location, however I would vote yes either way.

Nobody in the area paid for me. Why would I want to pay for a school that has wasted their money for years and has a school board that has used their personal agendas to decide what is best for an entire school district.holdingout;1023801 wrote:Who payed for YOU? -

Nope!! I would never recommend anyone send their kids to that school, you could say I am a disgruntled taxpayer. You have had teachers and coaches involved with students over the years and it was swept under the rug, you have had school board members threaten and even force coaches out because their kid was not getting enough playing time on the field and there are many more reasons I will not support that school, but I will not get into it on the internet.holdingout;1024584 wrote:Disgruntled parent? -

There are only TWO locations on the map right now. One is at the current spot the High School sits. The other is actually inside Steubenville city limits... Imagine how well THAT would go overpassword;1022674 wrote:Rumor is that everything will be moved to Mingo. It's for the kids, so I hope they build the school. But if it is inside the Steubenville city limits, will your name change from Wintersville Indian Creek to Steubenville Indian Creek.:laugh:sonofsam;1024829 wrote:The other is actually inside Steubenville city limits... How close to Hills school is it? Some of the property that is part of Hills is Steubenville, so it will end up in Mingo Jct as far as the person on the board is concerned and they will have delivered what the member has always pledged to do when the member was elected to the board years ago.sonofsam;1024829 wrote:There are only TWO locations on the map right now. Do you think Indian Creek is the only school district this happens to? Wake up and look around. It happens everywhere, and has been happening for many years. Indian Creek is no different than most school districts when it comes to "sweeping things under the rug".password;1024642 wrote:Nope!! GoPensHave they gotten a new chain gang? I remember we played there about 15 years ago or so and the chain gang was so drunk and harassing our players on the sideline that the officials had to stop the game and get a new crew. LOL.
