    True story.

it does sound like something that would of happened at Creek back in the day.

What are the demographics with regard to the Hills site? Sounds like it's really far away for the majority of the school district...really, the last time I went through Mingo it was a ghost town. It really makes no sense to build a HS away from where the stadium facilities are, unless a new stadium is also in the plan. Those facilities are used for more than just football and the district would have to bus the kids there for all of their events. But then again, I never understood why Wintersville and Mingo were in the same school district in the first place...it would have made more sense for Mingo to merge in with Steubenville.

Mingo and Wintersville were forced by the state because Mingo had money and Wintersville was broke.

Was this the 2001 trip down there? I think that was the only time we played there in the last 15 years. If so, I can't believe I missed that, as I was on the sideline!

Not sure of the year but i think that's the only time we were there...and yes, it happened. I was talking to the officials...lol

Nice. It was '01 then. My sophomore year, 3 days after 9/11 actually because we did a moment of silence and all of that

Actually, Kettlewell isn't that bad of a stadium. Nice upgrades would include a new scoreboard, turf, restrooms/locker rooms and maybe some additional seats on the home side. Parking will always be an issue for big games. The setting is fairly unique, with the two sides framed in trees on the hillside.

There is no way the HS was built in the '30's. Maybe the old Wintersville Elementary on Fernwood. It was the HS until at least the early 50's, when the current HS was built. Yes, it's a bad excuse for a building and has always been a dump, but it's not as old as stated here.

Why don't we have any customized stadium end zones? Painted red with THE CREEK in yellow letters.

A while back the district aquired land within the district, but inside Steubenville city limits... I hope it DOESN'T happen, but I guess we will see...

I like the Home side stands . If they ever built away side stands like the home It would be formidable and big Red could play there every other year.. wintersville does have a nice stadium Its better than most

Well hey, we're getting some upgrades at Kettewell (new score including jumbo-tron, more seating, maybe new parking, locker rooms, turf, new concession stands, just to name a few), how bout you guys come over here 2015 and 2017. We'd play you in 2016 and 2018. 2015-17 will be the best years for the Creek in history, guarantee. I would like to see some games like the 85 OT and the 87 game. Sounds good?

If 1500-2000 seats were added, you could host a game with Steubenville. That would put capacity at over 7k. But parking would still be an issue. I'm sure they play in away stadiums that hold less than 10k.

The visitor side actually holds a good amount...used to be the home side. When they updated them with new aluminum benches, they should have elevated the whole section 6 feet so people can see over the players.

The current stadium holds 5,500 seating. Much more with standing room. Yes updates are needed, but there are not many other stadiums in the area that hold more. Also, the natural grass field is one of the best if not the best the area has to offer.

The proposal of the new high school has new additional parking. Here it is:

Can someone help me with this? First of all, I did graduate from Big Red and do live in the ICHS district, and I have no problem supporting these kids, as they are good kids. But I have some questions about the levy that someone here may be able to help me with. First, is this levy in addition to the 28year one that was levied a few years ago, or a replacement, and what rate to what rate? Second, I have been told by a pretty reliable source that this levy is for 37 years. Is that true?? I thought 28 years was long, but 37 years? The seniors graduating this year could live here, work 36 years and retire, and still be on the same levy? Is that unusual? I am used to 5 year or 10 year bonds/levies. Can someone who knows advise on this? It is unclear on the brochures I have gotten. Thanks.

Would a IC person who lives in Steubenville support a levy for Steubenville? IC people dont even buy soda at our stadium and by SOS's admission several hundred wont pay for a ticket at Harding but let a security buddy let them in for free. . Just saying . Not hating but just saying . those things might come back and bite IC as thousands of formaer Steubenville people live in that district. It might cost you 40 votes or so .

This will be an additional levy, actually 2 of them. One is for them to build the school and the other one is for them to help pay for everyday expenses. I think they need to sign a gas/oil lease for all they property they own and use that for the school. I WILL BE VOTING NO FOR THESE 2 LEVIES.

I have voted for levies here before. I am ok with education, I think it's a good investment. However, I am not sure that I am being told everything I need to know about it. I have even asked a few of my friends that have kids in IC and they were not sure. Oh well, I doubt my vote will make any difference at all.
