2012 Wayne County Athletic League Football

I was a little disappointed that OQB didnt ask for any suggestions ala pitman on where to honeymoon or hold the reception.

OQB,....Enjoy your newlywed status now before it turns into something like this...........

It was great, awesome weather, brand new all-inclusive resort, never got sick, and didn't get rejected when I made a move. Haha
O-Trap;1209748 wrote:I'm gonna go out on a limb and say his honeymoon was like a lot of honeymoons. There were outdoor activities (in his case, beach time). There were a lot of more "indoor activities" (but if you managed to make that an outdoor activity at least once, there will be reps coming your way, OQB).

    Pretty much exactly what happened.
Red Rum;1209841 wrote:Congrats on the nuptials OrrQB....

....although I'm a little mystified that you would choose a honeymoon spot that loosely translates to "point gray hair".

Since you picked such an interesting locale, I can't help but ask....

    A. Did you happen to bump into Fausto Carmona?
    B. Do any sightseeing on the other side of the island?....I hear Port au Prince is beautiful this time of year:D

I would recommend going there...very nice resorts. We also went to Saona island as well as a trip up into the mountains...both were very nice.

I've dated her for 7 years so it will probably be over sooner than later...

Thank you all, and reps to everyone!!!

Now that you are married and little OQB's are inevitable, Division 5 is no place for your son to play. Have him experience the pride and satisfaction only playing Division 2 high school football can bring a kid.

Plenty of affordable housing available in the 44691. Hell, my neighbors house is for sale.

    Something to consider.

Since things are a little slow on the football news front......

I thought an update on a few of the posters activities would be nice.......

Bloody has earned a place on the Govts "No Fly" list!

    Nice Job & stay classy!!

Miyagi's been doing the family thing....his boys are a chip off the old block

I can almost feel the love from here:)

Red Rum's Sister Wifes just found out about each other at the family reunion.

1_beast moved his family into their new home.

Madman and his youngin's protecting the borders of Rittman so no more talent leaves the school system.

    OQB got hitched.

Kinda quiet on the football front. Things got exciting there for a while...

Let's pick up the excitement again! How are the Golden Bears and Huskies looking this year? Both teams had a competitive core last year and have some important returning pieces. How do you all see the league shaking out? Hillsdale loses a significant amount, what do they have returning?

    Norwayne
    Northwestern
    Smithville
    Hillsdale
    Waynedale
    Dalton
    Rittman
    Chippewa
  • Bobcat
It sounds like Norwaynes core group of players are doing a lot of traveling to skills camps. I have been curious how they would respond to last years success. From what I hear they aren't just sitting back. I'm happy to hear it
    Here's my picks

    Norwayne
    Northwestern
    Waynedale
    Smithville
    Dalton
    Hillsdale
    Chippewa
    Rittman

That was a special group of seniors that Norwayne graduated and it takes a good class just like that to give the younger players an idea of the hard work and effort that is needed to be successful.
I would expect the Norwayne Bobcats to have several good years to come not just because of a good group of athletes coming up, but there is also that element of riding that wave of success from previous years!

2)northwestern - nolletti and co make a move
3)smithville - shrock keeps them competitive even with the losses
4)hillsdale - more losses, but still decent
5)dalton - still will be young, but the 9th and 10th graders become 10th and 11th. We will see how much the fire hardened the youngsters. You still have moyer
6)Waynedale - not sure who is returning from an average bears team.
7)Chippewa - this is the yr they crawl out of the basement
8)Rittman - takes another small step back

2- Waynedale ( Lack of O/D lines will equal some wins)
3- Rittman ( Screen plays finally gain positive yards)
4- NW'n ( Injury prone, still wins games)
5- Norwayne ( Lots to live up to... will see youtube videos at some point telling us their secret game plan... wins some games)
6- Chippewa ( Adds some wins with impressive kicking game)
7 - Dalton (young crew with great assistant coaches = some wins)
8- Hillsdale ( New lighting improves visiting teams vision... hurts falcons sight... but they still win some games)

I predict that these 8 teams will play some football games against each other this year and will finish in an order from best to worst. That order they finish in is unpredictable so I will not predict that order.

    I approve this post...

Here's some early predictions from this thread....
  • Red Rum
I feel pretty confident Rittman & Chippewa will get 7th & 8th place.
I'm a little less confident about who will finish 1st through 6th.
    that being said.....

    1. Northwestern....complete homer pick. They could just as easily finish 6th. 2012 is the first of a 2 year window for the Huskies to try to obtain some trophy case hardware.

    2. Waynedale....don't ask me why, but I just have a strong feeling da bears from apple dump are going to make some noise

    3. Norwayne....lost a lot in Wallace & several others. Alot of talent returns and they will be the favorites going in....I'm not sold they'll be the champions going out.

    4. Hillsdale....good coach, lots of bodies....I don't see the Falcons in the bottom half of the league.

    5. Dalton....speaking of the bottom half of the league, I don't see the Dawgs here either. So my predictions are already invalid. Go figure.

    6. Smithville....see explanation for Dalton.....and apply.

    7. Rittman....they will keep the "Big Chief" trophy.

    8. Chippewa....another long season is upon them. time to start scheduling down the OOC games (Lucas?, New London?)

This will be a very interesting year. I don't see the clear cut favorite. Should be alot of fun.
  • Jmar25
Waynedale "Wrestled" away an assistant coach from Dalton. Please take away one win from them on my early prediction.
  • Dr. KnOiTaLL
Thanks for the prediction post, Red Rum. It's crazy to think that we're basically a month into summer already. Before we know it, scrimmages will be starting up and we will have a better idea of what to expect, who is healthy and who isn't, and what players look to surprise the league. Can't wait! I must say, baseball season is pretty boring!
  • THE4RINGZ
My prediction about the league is earlier in the thread.

In case you can't find it, here is a quick synopsis...Northwestern wins the WCAL. Take that to the bank.

    who did they "wrestle" away?

Probably someone the OHSAA will rule ineligible halfway thru the season and give beast an excuse to root for the Huskies
  • Go Falcons
I will go out on a limb and say my Falcons will be in the top six this year, barring any serious injuries.

Ummm...can't say. it's not finalized yet. Happened two weeks ago though. I know he told the coaching staff there but hasn't told too many people about his decision.
