Go FalconsHillsdale 41 Bucyrus 23
A good night for the Falcons, but at times showed there inexperience. Pass coverage still needs to work on staying with their man, but our pass rush is really intimidating. O line last night showed times as if every one missed their assignments. We did sub in a lot late in the third and fourth.
First half we are still coming out kind of flat but the coaches are making out standing adjustments at the half just like they did at Manchester and we roll in the third. Hopefully we can get that corrected as later we will get to far behind.
Next week looks to be a big game as Loudonville looks to be the real deal. -
Go FalconsCongrats to Pitman and the Titans! Did not pick them in the pool but was rooting anyway. However we will need them to roll over for the Panthers because the rest of the slackers are not going to help us one bit!

You may be right. Rittman, Chippewa, Dalton, Waynedale and Smithville may only get wins head to head. This could actually hurt Norwayne more than Hillsdale this year since Hillsdale seems to have a much tougher non-conf schedule than the Bobcats. Whoever wins that head to head match-up is the only team with a sure chance to get in.iced earth;1259224 wrote:If 5 teams take a donut in non league games, a 9-1 team may miss the playoffs again.
Strange days indeed, even with a defending state champ, the league may be the worst it's ever been.
Woodridge just nipped Manchester last night after destroying CVCA in week one. Based on game performance so far, Hillsdale may be the team to beat? -

What an accomplishment, sending a kid to the hospital. I don't care who you are, that is sick.Bobcat;1259193 wrote:Cats played like a team that lost some serious players tonight. Dreher played like a first year QB. He threw for a ton of yards but consistently underthrew, overthrew and went into panic mode. My new MVP surfaced tonight however. Brady Berger flat out tore it up. He and many other kids from both teams cramped all night but he fought through it. I would say he had 10 catches and had to have over 200 yards in the air. Add to that an interception, a slew of tackles and probably the biggest hit I've ever seen in high school football that sent a kid to the hospital. In my mind he's the reason they won tonight. Huge catches in huge situations with a QB that was big time struggling. What a game for Berger. The league may be a lot more interesting then some people think. Congrats to the Cats -
BobcatMy apologies for the "hospital" post. It wasnt meant that way. I know...a guy needs to be careful what he says on here. I was just trying to say the kid had a great game and that Norwayne isnt as good as it appeared at first. It is important to point out that Zimmerly spent very little time on the field last night. I thought that was cramps also but someone told me he is nursing some kind of leg injury. That doesnt help the Cats. He is a definitie difference maker. In the long run they are going to need to have him healthy. Congrats to all of last nights winners

Havin FunApology accepted. Kids getting hurt in football can be very scary. After a couple visits with my kids, I find myself praying before any game for all the competitors to be safe regardless of who we are playing.

Very good post, the WCAL needs these outta conference games to be victories. I was hoping Manchester would pull that game out last night. Norwayne is still the team to beat. Hillsdale plays very well at times and looks dominate, then plays very poorly and looks average. Still a nice victory over Bucyrus. Huge game next week with Loudonville!Havin Fun;1259268 wrote:You may be right. Rittman, Chippewa, Dalton, Waynedale and Smithville may only get wins head to head. Bloody ToothbrushI'll tell you guys what's sick.......and pathetic!!!!
THE RITTMAN/CLE KNIGHTS GAME!
The Cleveland Knights are a rough and tumble, very athletic bunch........Thats their upside.
Their downside is......
the knights have zero discipline......they argue w/ each other and the coaches loud enough for all to hear.
the knights often have trouble with number of players on the field.......sometimes 10........mostly 12.
the knights have great difficulty in getting plays off in the allotted amount of time.
the knights rolled up 200+ yds on 20+ penalties.....this stat alone should have guaranteed defeat.
THE CLE KNIGHTS WON THE GAME!!!!
This affair seriously cut short the after game Rittman/Sterling bar tour as the game didn't end until 10:40pm.
Rittman is in for a VERY VERY VERY long season.
What does Lord Dennis tell the troops after last nights debacle?
Where is your program at when a non ohsaa sanctioned team runs successful bubble screens and you can't?
Why does Rittman only throw to Dennis's kid?.......even the Knights picked up on that!
Bill Dennis should be brought up on murder charges because the Rittman football program is DEAD. -
Whispering eyeCould this be worse than the Teague years in Rittman. I wanna hear what madman has to say. Hopefully he didn't leave for good.

This thread is finished, it just doesn't know it yet.
Take away the people willing to freely give non politically correct opinions on all teams and subjects and you're left with a bunch of one team homers that spout little more than propaganda.....see Orrville thread!!!.......there's nothing wrong with this type of thread, it's just boring.
This is the internet. Not the Plain Dealer. Things should be loose and entertaining here. You shouldn't need to apologize for every little thing and have to be careful about hurting somebodys feelings.
The future here looks like it's going to be a mamby pamby, I apologize for not thinking like you think, here's my one sided homer report, please stick to the topic type of place. Then to lighten things up, we'll throw in a Rick Astley video and wish each other happy birthday!!!......yay!
I for one......AM NOT SORRY for anything I said..............and DONT CARE how people feel about it.
If I wanted politically correct, straight up football talk.....................I can read the frigggin' paper.
which seems like what will happen...........have fun boys!
and eye......
things are Teague bad in Rittman. It's a shame because they have some athletes. -
thePITmanI'm hearing that although we might not think a lot of the Cleveland Knights, that they have some good players. Undisciplined, yes. But they have some kids that played at Buchtel and other schools before transferring there (due to not being eligible at an OHSAA school, etc). So they have some good players on that team. From the sounds of it - great athletes, terrible discipline - it reminds me of the Timken teams of 3-4 years ago. Still, this has to be a low point in WCAL football history.

Go FalconsBloody: How true you are.
However
1. Birthday wishes were well deserving for Pit.
2. mamby pamby vids- again we are talking Pit. -
Whispering eyeWell they do run the same offense Teague and Dennis. But at least Teague didn't have someone that HAD to get touches. I wonder what he'll tell the papers after this one. Probly his normal we're looking better and better each week bull. I'm saddened at how far down the program has went in just 2 years after B.B. left. SMH

BTW, we got beat fair and square. Not happy at all about it, but no excuses either. -
Havin FunNorwayne certainly scheduled well but the three non-conf games could be a disaster for them. Wellington got shutout 33-0 last night. CVCA will be lucky to finish middle of the PAC. Western Reserve is 2-0 but barely beat Black River who NW dismantled last night. Gotta wonder if these three teams will have 10 wins between them. On the other hand, Hillsdale looks like they finally have a non-conf schedule that could get them in at 8-2. Manchester, Bucyrus and Loudenville will have around 20 wins between them. NW is interesting but not sure they have played anyone yet? Sure looking forward to the Norwayne/Hillsdale game this year. Should be a great one.

madman11Completely embarrassing....They have to go back to square one with basic tackling drills. Looks like the idea is foreign to them. They also need to work on defensive backs looking for the ball in the air. Time after time they get beat because the ball is in the air and the reciever goes around them to get it

I mean, it's one thing if their lives just pulled them other ways. I get that. But what happened the other night had nothing ... repeat, NOTHING ... to do with making this thread only about football.
That would be a shame. Up until the other night, this topic had been full of good discussion, and that doesn't exclude the off-topic ribbing. That stuff is FINE. This topic was never a football-only thread, and it still isn't.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote: This thread is finished, it just doesn't know it yet.
I agree. I personally get a chuckle out of Miyagi's off-the-wall cat-cooking posts, the ribbing back and forth, etc. as well as the opinions from a poster about teams that poster doesn't support. I think you get a level of honesty there.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote:Take away the people willing to freely give non politically correct opinions on all teams and subjects and you're left with a bunch of one team homers that spout little more than propaganda.....see Orrville thread!!!.......there's nothing wrong with this type of thread, it's just boring.
Believe me, what happened the other nights (all 13 posts of it) was ANYTHING but loose. It got really tense to the point that guys were going to be basement-banned for breaking the rules of this forum that have been around since nearly the beginning. It had nothing at all to do with "too much non-football" content. That was never even the issue.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote:This is the internet. Not the Plain Dealer. Hell, that wasn't even it.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote: shouldn't need to apologize for every little thing and have to be careful about hurting somebodys feelings.

Far as I know, you have no reason to be.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote:I for one......AM NOT SORRY for anything I said..............and DONT CARE how people feel about it.
And if you want a place like this has been, you can still come here. Seriously, there is no change in rules, and there was no attempt to limit the topic of conversation.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote: If I wanted politically correct, straight up football talk.....................I can read the frigggin' paper.
I don't know what would lead anyone to think that. Nothing has changed.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote:which seems like what will happen...........have fun boys!
I their defense, PITman is right. The Cleveland Knights are pretty much a lot of good athletes thrown together for various reasons. The kid I know there started for three years at Garfield (who beat Wooster in Week 1 this year) but had to sit a year because of a transfer.Bloody Toothbrush;1259362 wrote:things are Teague bad in Rittman. Honestly, that was easily the fastest, and probably most athletic, team Rittman will see this year, albeit also probably the least disciplined. -
855pridewhen does northwestern play hillsdale. ive been told that this could be a good game. the league possibly being a toss up between NW norwayne and hillsdale? i think its gonna be another hillsdale norwayne showdown late in the season.

Week 7 at Hillsdale -
855pridethanks falcons. how was the pre game festivities last night? hillsdale is really getting behind their football in the past few years.

Whispering eyeI can't wait for the Norwayne Northwestern game I think it'll be an offensive shootout. If Zimmerly is able to play the whole game (I guess he has some hamstring problems) then it'll be a great one to watch. I think Zimmerly would be a shoe in for POY if he's able to play all game every game that kid is a beast. I think that's the key for Norwayne this year having Zimmerly playing, he's just as good if not better coming off the end on defense as he is running those draws and quick hand offs on offense. I just hope an injury doesn't hurt a great player and even better kid's senior year.

Zimmerly is instumental in Norwaynes county hopes for sure but Smithville without bates playing both ways just doesnt get it done. he shut down a very good receiver from mog on friday. i cant remember his name but he was targeted multiple times and bates was in his hip pocket on everyone. i think he ended with one catch on the night. on the offensive side he is a must with smithville running so much and his elbow is looking alot better then last year throwing the ball. just wait till you see him play this year. Zimmerly and Bates are in the top 3 players.......not sure who the other is tho....?Whispering eye;1260183 wrote:I think Zimmerly would be a shoe in for POY if he's able to play all game every game that kid is a beast. was_that_itTalking top three players in the leauge early on, I would throw in one or two of them boys from Northwestern in the discussion. The running back and quarterback. From reading the paper it seems like they are off to a great start statistically. I hope the Zimmerly boy's injury doesn't nag him all season long, hate to see seniors get dinged up and miss time.
As far as Norwayne/Hillsdale, Norwayne/Northwestern, Hillsdale/Northwestern.....those games will be very entertaining contests, all have athletes all over the field. Hillsdale has some things to impove on before thinking about a leauge title and this week against Loudonville is critical. -
855pridehey northwestern people. how is dan yoders injury going. will he be back this year? i remember him as a dangerous wr and returnman. wish him luck in getting back to health
