O-TrapChange of plans. I'll now be headed to Rittman tonight to watch them face the Cleveland Knights.
One of the kids who comes to the local youth center plays for the Knights, so I'm going to go watch him and his team face the mighty foe that is Rittman. -
thePITmanO-Trap, can you text me quarterly updates? Or do you tweet or anything?

Go FalconsGood Luck to all the WCAL teams and to Pitman's team to.

Offense looked better this week, I hear. Still work to do, as I heard they had three drives stall in the red zone.
Defense still needs a lot of work, apparently. It's pretty obvious that this team misses last year's seniors. Hope these guys step it up! Still a lot of football to play, and I'm hearing good things about Coach B. -
855prideI have been to the Week 1 and 2 games for Smithville. I have also been in attendance for the last few years and can honestly say that it is a different atmosphere with this team. The intensity level is not there. A few players have the will to win and show it on the field. Tyler Buss and Alex Bates are the teams work horses this year on offense and add Tolan Shane and Alex Kurtz on D. The 4 captains are showing by their play that they want to repeat as champs. BUT we all know it takes 11 guys and a group of coaches to repeat an 8-3 season. Bates i feel is not getting enough carries on o. He bails them out of trouble many times in drives with big plays on 2nd and long and 3rd and long. Every yard Buss gets on o is hard fought for. Im sorry but the line just is not creating the creases that these guys need to run. Zimmerly from Norwayne may help them win more games and Dreher may throw for more but there just is not a player in the league more valueable to their team like the Bates boy. If Smithville expects to win games, they must spread teams out to help create running lanes and let Bates have more chances to create plays. I will be there next week and hopefully the rest of the season supporting the Green and White. GO SMITHIES

BobcatCats played like a team that lost some serious players tonight. Dreher played like a first year QB. He threw for a ton of yards but consistently underthrew, overthrew and went into panic mode. My new MVP surfaced tonight however. Brady Berger flat out tore it up. He and many other kids from both teams cramped all night but he fought through it. I would say he had 10 catches and had to have over 200 yards in the air. Add to that an interception, a slew of tackles and probably the biggest hit I've ever seen in high school football that sent a kid to the hospital. In my mind he's the reason they won tonight. Huge catches in huge situations with a QB that was big time struggling. What a game for Berger. The league may be a lot more interesting then some people think. Congrats to the Cats

sending a kid to the hospital is ALWAYS a bragging point....how about some well wishes for the injured student athlete "dad"Bobcat;1259193 wrote:Cats played like a team that lost some serious players tonight. iced earthIf 5 teams take a donut in non league games, a 9-1 team may miss the playoffs again.
Strange days indeed, even with a defending state champ, the league may be the worst it's ever been. -
Havin FunNOt sure what is more embarrassing. Rittman scheduling the Cleveland Knights or Rittman actually losing to them? Even with a win, there would have been no points for Rittman with CK being a non OHSAA member. Deperate people taking desperate measures for a win get more desperate.
