The turf is not worn. I have no idea where you are getting that one. CCC's stadium and overall facilty is so much nicer than Minerva's home field it is beyod debate (CCC's stadium is bigger than any NBC stadium). CCC's stadium is also nicer than Jackson's where the team getting the visiting side would be jipped seating wise. Paul Brown was the only better option in the area and the OHSAA didn't choose that stadium for whatever reason.
I agree that Paul Brown would have been the best choice. As a fan I would much rather watch a game at Jackson than at Central. You feel like you're so far away from the field at Central. I bet any fan that has to stand Friday night would like to have a thousand more seats. Field turf has a life span of 10-15 years. I believe Central's was installed in the mid to late 90's. I spoke with a coach who said the turf at Central was by far the worst of any in the area. I think we all know the reason why this game is being played at Central.

Any official word on this? A guy on another message board??? If I was Dover I'd practice like he is playing till I really knew. But that's just me. It wouldn't be the first time a rumor on a web page was wrong.

Central had new turf installed in 2006 so no it is not from the 1990s. Also, about 1,500 of the seats at Jackson are endzone seats that are not great seats to watch a game so Central has bigger sideline seating (7,000) than Jackson (6,500). I really have to disagree with you, I would much rather watch a game at Central than Jackson. Central is the better facility, I have been to both this year. Minerva is a DIII school in a village with only about 3,900 people so I really don't know where all these thousands upon thousands of people are coming from.

Minerva has aspirations of becoming a perennial football powerhouse and has begun their campaign toward that end by recruiting fans from the surrounding school districts. So, expect to see a lot of Alliance, Louisville, Canton and Carrollton residents in attendance!
  • LocoEngineer66
No idea who said thousands upon thousands ... but most NBC schools have always supported each other throughout the playoffs ... so Minerva didn't recruit fans from anywhere.
  • Doverbuck
The town of Minerva may only have 3,900 but the school district encompasses a pretty large area with several small towns.

    GO DOVER!!!!!

When Dover fills home side they will mount a offensive on the visitor side. Should be plenty of seats If Dover has home side and half the visitor side. Rumor has it they are all bringing sack lunches in protest of no outside food in stadium.

It's game day!!! Time to bring some BRICK-HOUSE football to Canton. Play smart and play hard today boys. We need a big night out of the Defense front four tonight. Farmer and Lher need to chop some wood, and keep chopping all night long. Let Hunter clean it up and our DB's return a couple Pick six's. Wallick-hold on to the ball and get no less then 30 yards a punt/kick return. It's going to be a long 10 1/2 hours till kickoff!

    Six hours and counting...

    GO DAVID !

Derrick looked liked he found his groove after he threw the interception last week. His throws were right on the money in the second half. Hopefully, he picks up where he left off & makes good decisions.

    Go Lions!!!!!!!!!!!

Either way I will be rooting for Red & Silver next week!!!

Agreed. Even his bad throws were only where our boys could catch them. Nothing too short or nothing too off target. Hope he picks right back up and looks to run a little more when the middle of the field is open. He has the ability to take this game into his own hands and win it for us. Similar to last years game at Death Valley.

Let's go boys, almost show time!!!
