BlueJI have to think that the champ is going to come out of Region 22 or Region 24 with the favorites being; DSJ, Marion Local, Minster. I think some wildcards could be Leipsic, Mogadore, Malvern, and Ada.
In the Regular Season DSJ beat both Minster (7-0) and Marion Local (21-14)... but Marion Local and Minster both beat Coldwater who DSJ lost to. -

nwofbfanLeipsic may give the MAC a run for their money.

Definitely. I see Region 24 being Minster vs Marion, and Region 22 being DSJ vs Leipsic. With one of those 4 bringing home the trophy,nwofbfan;958061 wrote:Leipsic may give the MAC a run for their money. -
BlueJayRayit will be just like last year... The REAL State Title will be played at the Regional or possibly the Semi-State level... between 22 and 24

Falcons53No love for Berlin Center Western Reserve? Now 11-0 and #1 from the AP?

Nope, the MAC lust has started... lol -

I'd bet they are the favorite odds on to make it to the final game. Problem is, they will not be a favorite to win that final game. It will be harder for the R22 & R24 team to get to the finals than to win state.Falcons53;963211 wrote:No love for Berlin Center Western Reserve? Now 11-0 and #1 from the AP? -

Wow, I am not saying BCWR will win it, we all know that winning a state title in Ohio may be the toughest of any state (at least near the top), but from what I have seen, they are a very good team that has taken care of business. A big OL, speed, toughness. I think some people may be taking them a little too lightly. Which is fine, being from the area, I hope they win it all. I know a few of their coaches and would like to see it happen. Would be nice to see a Valley public win it all.Sonofanump;963385 wrote:I'd bet they are the favorite odds on to make it to the final game. OK, that's great. Good for them. They should be proud. But that is on that side of the state based upon playing your local teams. IF they are as good as you say they are, then they should make it to the finals. But the final are a different story in D6 in West vs East.Falcons53;963438 wrote:they are a very good team that has taken care of business. -
Falcons53I have no investment in BCWR's team or program, but I will now root even harder for them...

Eh, unless there are actual players from those teams on here taking BCWR lightly it really doesnt matter what is said on here.Falcons53;963438 wrote:Wow, I am not saying BCWR will win it, we all know that winning a state title in Ohio may be the toughest of any state (at least near the top), but from what I have seen, they are a very good team that has taken care of business. Most people will say a MAC team because of the 17 DVI state champions, 11 of them have come from that conference by a number of schools. St Johns, St Henry an Marion Local. 3 times they were runners up so 14 of the 17 years there was a mac school in the DVI finals,
In TWO of those three seasons where a MAC school didnt make it to the DVI finals, the teams were in the DV state finals as htey moved up a division that year. -
CardsFlyinHighNo doubt whoever comes out of the Western semifinal (22 vs 24) will be the favorite in the title game, but I don't think anyone should automatically write off the Eastern winner. Once they get to the final game, anything can happen. I don't think anyone could argue the strongest pool of D6 teams is in the west. But someone from 21 or 23 will be playing in the state final game and upsets do happen.
Two years ago not many gave Norwalk St. Paul a shot at beating DSJ despite being undefeated and they got the job done. Not saying Western Reserve, or Youngstown Christian or even a Buckeye Central out of 23 is at the calibur of that NSP team, but they're not last year's Shadyside either. -

That is kinda funny example. That school along with Bucyrus Wynford and Hopewell Louden were in the northeast section (R21) despite not being from the northeast and completely dominated the schools to the east. I saw the NSP vs DSJ final, those two teams were amazing.CardsFlyinHigh;967142 wrote:Two years ago not many gave Norwalk St. Paul a shot at beating DSJ despite being undefeated and they got the job done. I'm aware that St. Paul is more of a North Central/Northwest school, I was just using the example that not many were picking them to beat St. Johns and they did.Sonofanump;967188 wrote:That is kinda funny example. slcoachI will go on record as saying that Region 23 in 2011 may be the weakest region in the history of the OHSAA playoffs. I have not seen Buckeye Central and SV is solid, but the rest of that region is just unreal.

Rosecrans will win that Region. Have you seen teams or are you just being a jackyllslcoach;967535 wrote:I will go on record as saying that Region 23 in 2011 may be the weakest region in the history of the OHSAA playoffs. I am certain that it is recently the weakest except for Newark Catholic's run. I'd bet that the R23 winner in 2011 is better than the 2009 R23 winner.slcoach;967535 wrote:I will go on record as saying that Region 23 in 2011 may be the weakest region in the history of the OHSAA playoffs. They definitely have a shot. It was just my opinion who I thought would win. Back in 09 when DSJ beat Marion in OT I though DSJ was going to win state only to be beaten by Norwalk St. Paul in the finals. The only thing I know about Western is that they have a talented QB. Also, Thompson Ledgemont was 10-0 and they are out, also Shadyside was in last years finals. Maybe YOU are taking Shadyside to lightly... See what I did there?Falcons53;963438 wrote:Wow, I am not saying BCWR will win it, we all know that winning a state title in Ohio may be the toughest of any state (at least near the top), but from what I have seen, they are a very good team that has taken care of business. I really hope you don't hold grudges against schools based on a couple of posters on a message board. Come on, be better than that.Falcons53;963722 wrote:I have no investment in BCWR's team or program, but I will now root even harder for them... -

One of the best State final games ever in my opinion. NSP's QB absolutely took over that game towards the end.Sonofanump;967188 wrote:That is kinda funny example. I don't think anyone has written anyone off in this thread. Just some people stating their opinion as who they think the favorites are, and some people reading way to much into it. There are no guarantees in football. CardsFlyinHighBlueJ, got a chance to see your team today at Bowling Green. Really impressed with them. Your defense is the real deal, although I'd be curious to see how a pass first offense can fare against them. Schulte is a class act too. Best of luck the rest of the way.
