Time for the McCreary's to step aside at Wooster
-
TiernanI'll bow out now and let you Amish in NE Central Ohio figure things out for yourselves...sounds like you got plenty of problems to work on.
-
OQBThank you for that significant contribution

FidmeisterHow do you guys know this talent is as good as you say it is? Also, perhaps the talent at other schools in your league is simply better than your great talent.
One wonders how you felt about him when he had Wooster in the playoffs and contending yearly for league titles. -

LOL ....MOST of the posters here are from NEIGHBORING schools that see and know the talent that Mccreary dumps!!!!Fidmeister;948648 wrote:How do you guys know this talent is as good as you say it is? Also, perhaps the talent at other schools in your league is simply better than your great talent.

Hell Woosters Rival Orrville has people on here....the guy just is not getting the job done. Im from a neighboring school and have no dog in the race!!!! -
OQBWe know they have talent because they are successful at every level until they hit varsity and the coaches do not know how to use that talent, make adjustments, play in big games, and ultimately make the playoffs. Those first two years he had a MONSTER offensive line avg. I think 6'3" and 275 plus had a stable of running backs and a solid qb to manage the game. When all those guys graduated they have the talent to be that way every single year, but kids either move out of the district, don't play, or their talents are wasted by the coach.
CHANGE is needed for Wooster! -
THE4RINGZThe current freshman team has lost maybe two or three games in the past three years. The current eighth grade team hasn't lost a game the past two seasons.
This year's seventh grade team had, no lie, 60+ kids on the roster. Wooster literally didn't have enough uniforms.
With those numbers and that talent, there is no way your varsity team is consistently a 5-5 team. -
FidmeisterYou guys realize how many factors there are that determine success in middle school right? For instance, how many middle schools are in the district? Are you playing other districts with the same amount of middle schools? Are other districts having talent grow as they get older rather than peaking at 14? Are you playing the same districts in middle school that you play in high school?
There's more than "they were good in middle school, so they should be in high school." A lot more. Coaching is part of it, but not all of it. I don't have a dog in the fight, either. I just wonder how you can say there's a ton of talent there. What sport is this school consistently good at? It can't be the coach's fault in every sport. -
OQBSpeech and debate and the band....perennial powers in both of those.
Seriously though, you can see every Friday night they have talent the offense is averaging 35 points a game and they are 4-5!!!! The same defense has been run since the late 80's and no adjustments are ever made.
I have no dogs in the fight either, only that I played for Orrville in this rivalry game and was 3-1 in my 4 years in high school and started this winning streak we are currently on. I would love to see Wooster become a football power every year so week 10's can be an epic battle every single year.....sure we are going for our 7th straight win tonight in the historic rivalry, but at some point you have to wonder why a division IV football team is light years better than a division I/II school with the numbers they have.
I just feel bad for the players and fans. -
frustrated fanI feel bad to!! Today at "practice " for Woo coach had more to say on uniform turn in than anything else. What a shame for such a big game tonight!! I'm so frustrated that this coach doesn't give a crap about the future of these boys. I said it before, most of these boys, if not all, WILL NOT play on a college football field! What a waste! I will be there tonight cheering on the boys on the field, but not the coach on the sideline!

Really? If so that's a real shame. This team can still make the playoffs and even if not they still get to play in a stories rivalry with school pride on the line.
That dog wouldn't hunt in this town... -

OK, we'll let you Central Ohio people head back off to being conceited. I seriously don't know one person originally from Columbus who isn't.Tiernan;948529 wrote:I'll bow out now and let you Amish in NE Central Ohio figure things out for yourselves...sounds like you got plenty of problems to work on. -
jacoI think alot of families have had enough. As bad as McCreary is game planning, you should see his organizational skills. OH, man.. He has no clue what goes on at the various levels below varsity, and doesn't really care. I can guarantee you that probably fewer than 10% of the boys playing middle school and freshman football in Wooster know who the varsity head coach is. They're as indifferent to him as he is to them. And I can honestly say the coaching is awful at every level of Wooster football. Mostly because there's no accountability or expectations. It's just bad. I mean real bad. There are guys coaching who seem to be there because it's a little extra money.
I've watched practices and games for the middle school teams and freshmen, and the coaching is what I would expect from a lower tier Wayne County League team. Seriously. Coaches standing around saying "what should we do next?", kids goofing off. Just a complete joke for a school this size. McCreary is the captain of this ship, and it's name is the Titanic. Is there talent in Wooster? Definitely. I'm a transplant, but I see tons of talent that is either never developed or run off. Based on simple math, a system Wooster's size should be a top 3 team in any sport...they should always have more athletes than smaller schools. I really just think he doesn't care half as much as he wants you to believe. He likes the title head coach, but isn't willing to put the work in. He's awful beyond awful.
Will the AD, Tefs or school board do anything? Doubt it..they don't care either. Their banners around town should say "committed to mediocrity" or "we're bad, but at least we're consistent." Oh, my favorite story I heard from a junior high dad..the coaches canceled a week's worth of practices leading up to the Orrville game because it rained. You can't make this stuff up.! -
Riderwannabejust keep the McCreary boys ....WE LOVE THEM IN ORRVILLE
-
CCRollyI can only pray to the heavens above that the right thing finally gets done this offseason. It's time to end the "Coaching Death Penalty" that is Wooster football.
-
Mr. RussellI know this. McCreary didn't cost Wooster the game last night. I heard him yelling to get away from that ball. He didn't get the kick blocked. He didn't fumble on the 3. They had a good gameplan last night. With that being said 4-6 with that talent isn't good enough.

That even makes your rants creepier...you still wearin' that '92 letter jacket to the games?CCRolly;948542 wrote:Wow, what a loser. If the jacka$$ even read the whole thread he would know I don't have a son. -

Only running four different plays out of 2 different sets. Good game plan your kidding me right. He did cost them the game, everything you mentioned is discipline learned in practice... Which at Wooster there is none...Mr. Russell;950658 wrote:I know this. McCreary didn't cost Wooster the game last night. I heard him yelling to get away from that ball. Old RiderIn all honesty...the difference in the game and what I feel was the deciding factor was the fact that Coach McCreary forgot to wear his crocs!
But seriously, what is with the Wooster coaching staff attire?? None of them matched at all.
If first impressions make the biggest impacts, then i would never hire those guys just based on the way they dress. Sometimes looking the part helps you to play the part. I don't think that if MCCreary were to dress like Woody Hayes means he would coach like him, but dressing like a guy heading to the 1982 pep-rally and his buddies in jeans and camo, isnt cutting it. -
OQB
Exactly! His feet were bundled up and couldn't breathe....which really affected his playcalling ability.Old Rider;952340 wrote:In all honesty...the difference in the game and what I feel was the deciding factor was the fact that Coach McCreary forgot to wear his crocs! -

Wow, what I wouldn't give to meet this guy face-to-face. But then again, he'd have to come up out of his momma's basement first...Tiernan;952263 wrote:That even makes your rants creepier...you still wearin' that '92 letter jacket to the games? -
