Time for the McCreary's to step aside at Wooster

  • CCRolly
Tefts and his cronies are another sign of everything that is wrong in the Wooster City School system. His ideas of closing schools and mixing grades is going over really well over here. He could care less about the death of a football program in Wooster due to our coaching cancer. I think it would be great to organize a bunch of "letters to the editor" of The Daily Record to see what the hell they're trying to do with this program.

I know it's 2 months early, but....Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is competent regime that takes Wooster Football seriously. Thanks, signed one of the remaining 7 Wooster fans who truly cares about this program and team.

Due to an unfortunate incident at tonight's Triway game, my schedule will now allow me to attend the West Holmes v. Wooster game next Friday.

I'll be the one in the stands wearing the tee shirt which reads, "my kid open enrolled somewhere else so he didn't have to play for McCreary."

    Yes he is fine.

Love the quote in the paper from McCreary after his defense just gave up 38 points......he blamed the OFFENSE. Really?

If Wooster cares about their program...they have to make a change.
  • OQB
I can see his logic....They didn't score enough points to win the game!

I was at the game Friday night and boy the stadium was empty. What a shame, All that talent on the field and nobody wants to come watch them lose. I feel for the boys that go out there Friday after Friday and put their hearts into a program that doesn't seem to care about them. I have a feeling that McCreary doesn't know anything about these boys at all. How can you lead a team and know nothing about them off the field. I know more about the junior class than the others, not to take anything away for the other classes. The junior class is a great group of boys. They have played together and won together since WYIF, they are an amazing group of kids and athletes and I feel bad that they are missing the chance at something better because of the McCrearys. If he cared even a little about these kids and their future he would step aside as head coach along with his dad and brother and allow theses boys the chance to shine and bring football back to Wooster!

Hallelujah! You're speaking to the choir here 'frustrated fan'. Attendance will continue to swoon and the kids will continue to suffer at the hands of the "Football Death Penalty" known as the McCreary's.

A lot of talent in this year's junior class, and the sophomores and freshmen are loaded too. This talent cannot continue to be squandered.

Since the WYIF has been discussed, I have always thought the purpose of that program was to develop players for the varsity level. What happened. My two sons played WYIF then went on to play hs football else where. Seems like an incredible waster of Baus' efforts.

Pretty easy to see where this Wooster program comes off the tracks.

    Open enroll at Orrville!

If the McCreary's are still running the ship when my son gets to High School....it's off to Orrville we go...no doubt.
  • CCRolly
Bringing this back on the eve of "The Game". Here's what I don't get....if we're running the same 5-6 offensive plays we have for the last several years, why don't we steal plays from other teams? I don't care if they're plays that have worked against us, or from college games you're watching on TV. I also know there has been talk about a lot of the assistant coaches being unpaid. HELL...I would do that job for free and bust my ass regardless. Are they just going through the motions or do they even care?

Sounds like a good time for the ol "Statue of Liberty" or "The Annexation of Puerto Rico" ;)

Never seen a Wooster game or know anything about the McCrearys ...but i've been part of HS coaching in various sports my entire life and I readily recognize a parent who's kid is riding the pine...what end of the bench does your son sit on Rolly?

Become knowledgeable on the topic before you put your 2 cents in....
  • Tiernan
Oh I'm very very knowledgable on the subject...the subject being "Stadium Seat Morons Who Never Coached A Day in Their Life" sitting around criticizing guys who have put countless hours and years into trying to help make young men & women become better athletes. Most coaches I know laugh their asses off at tools like Rolly who keep a thread going on a message board by posting countless posts himself just to keep the thread he started in the first place alive! And then his fellow tools like you jump in and support his lunacy.
  • THE4RINGZ
Tierman your post (second) does have some merit, except what you don't know, by your own admission, is that this coach isn't making his players better athletes, he is squandering what talent isn't able to move out of the district or open enroll at a neighboring school. Kids are leaving the school simply to avoid playing for this coach. And there is a huge bubble of talent on the horizon at Wooster, I think any concerned fan wants to see a change in coaching made prior to this next group of kids getting to the varsity level only to be left in the same situation the kids before them have been in.
  • OQB
You missed the point....Get to know the Wooster football program and you will see why this thread exists.

The athletes at Wooster excel from elementary school on up to freshman ball, but when they hit the varsity coaches hands they can't develop any furthur.
  • Tiernan
Agreed Ringz there are times coaching changes must be made. The proper way to do this is through Booster Oragnizations approaching ADs and possibly other schhol Administrators with tangible, credible, reliable proof coaching errors have been committed...NOT a continuous harangue on a message board by some parent who's kid is collecting splinters.
  • OQB
You must also Know Wooster is known for the revolving door in administration.....They are lucky to have the same adminstration 2 years in a row.
  • THE4RINGZ
This is just part of the grass roots effort to effect coaching change. The Booster Club is aware, the school board is aware, the proper channels have been followed. The fan base is getting frustrated with the administration that it has taken this long. Here's a little back story...the previous AD who left at the end of the 2011 school year during her tenure as AD replaced EVERY OTHER varsity coach except the football coach. Some of the coaches replaced had better programs and records in place than the football program. There is a new AD now.

This thread IMO is a place to vent some of that frustration, not a place someone is hoping the right person will stumble upon and have some epiphany that a coaching change may be the best thing for the program.
