Week 4: Parma Padua (1-2) @ Canal Fulton Northwest (2-1)

tinman 36no i dont listen to bleacher coaches. but you guys have your opinion and i have mine. well with week 1 being the first game running a whole new defense, changed from 4-3 to 3-3 stack which i'm sure you guys seen, its gettin better and better. the varsity defense gives an average of 12 points per game our offense is averaging 40 per game. Keep it up boys!

So...are you saying your a coach? Otherwise you are just as much of a bleacher coach...just thought I would point that out...LoLtinman 36;900178 wrote:no i dont listen to bleacher coaches. but you guys have your opinion and i have mine. well with week 1 being the first game running a whole new defense, changed from 4-3 to 3-3 stack which i'm sure you guys seen, its gettin better and better. the varsity defense gives an average of 12 points per game our offense is averaging 40 per game. Everyone on here is a bleacher coach...if you do not listen to them then why the hell are you on here? The entire point of this forum is to discuss the team, both good and bad.....paddy cake paddy cake Vic Whiting is God's gift to earth doesn't make for any interesting discussion....which is the entire point of this site. Is the defense getting better and better or competition getting weaker and weaker? Sorry, but a Cleveland public school and a South team that was destroyed by Coventry do not really test the defense like Orrville (the only playoff contending team NW has played) did. However, it is not your fault that you are uneducated and did not make it past the sixth grade. Obviously, you do not realize you need to start a sentence with a capital letter and your post has over 10 grammatical errors. Go sniff some more jockstraps you snob! -
tinman 36if those are bad teams, nw did what they should, they destroyed them. how do you know who is a playoff team in week 4? a couple years ago nw started pretty bad and made to round 2 of the playoffs.(1-4 in '06 and 2-3 in '09, but as educated as you are, you knew that). how do you know orrville is so great, we are the only team with a winning record they beat so far. why dont you relax, let the season play out. they are lookin better every week. we will know in few weeks how far we are goin. we are sittin 10th in the region right now, .3 points from 8th. we have 5.5 points, 7.9 is first. there are teams behind us with the same record, so we must not be playin the worst teams, but as smart and football savvy as you are, you knew that. look where marlington is with a 3-1 record. have some faith in the boys, they will get it done. as brutus said, coaches coach, fans support

Drums of WarI must say, what a difference a week makes. I was unaware of much of the extra activity as I do not have the best vantage point, and have other responsibilites during the games. However, if the dirty play was the catalyst for what we saw Friday night, I say let's play dirty teams every week! I think Padua had no Idea what they were in for, and got some snot bubbles knocked out of them. I mentioned being a bit old school, and I can not tell you how happy I was to see the power I, and even a 2 fullback set! It is such a great compliment to the spread. I think it will be very challenging for any defense in the future to game plan for us. You want to load the box? We will go ovet the top. You want to sit back in coverage? Here comes the Beers train.
I must say that my attitude toward our future has done a 180, but I think many of you feel a bit of the same thing. The biggest improvement however seems to be the level of aggressiveness. Before I get attacked, I did buckle a chin strap, and played for Dan Simon, and Joe Shultz. (in a sad era of NW football) They just looked like a different team this week. From the bruising blocking from whoever that fullback kid is, to the ramped up hitting on D, it just seemed that they had a little extra mean this week. Again if this was due to the dirty play, I say let's bottle it for future weeks.
Speaking of the Fullback, wow do I like to watch him play! I almost chuckle when they hand him the little inside trap and he carries 3 players for 7-8 yards. It looks loke they took a D lineman and taught him how to run, and I love it. Reminds me a bit of a former indian that ended up at Manchester named Matt Berry. We could never tell if he liked running the ball or hitting people better, but he did both very well. -
tinman 36Dan Simon and Joe Shultz were assistant coaches under Gary Dial in my day

Drums of War
I was very dissappointed to not get to play for Mr. Dial. He coached my cousin, Mark Peters, and I met him then. He was the man when it came to coaches. I remember him telling me that he looked forward to me getting up there to play for him. I was fortunate enough to have him as a teacher and loved every minute of it. One of the best I have ever had. He is certainly a jewl of the entire district. I am very glad that he has pulled out of the medical issues he has been having lately.tinman 36;903049 wrote:Dan Simon and Joe Shultz were assistant coaches under Gary Dial in my day -

Hopefully you arent comparing Northwest to Marlington! Not even close!!! Marlington may have lost last week to Louisville but the only reason NW is winning games is because they are independent and once again I tell you they play a weak schedule. Why is Mooney 2-2 and ahead of you in the region? Let me answer that, because they dont play all teams with losing records and they dont play teams in divisions two down from them. All I kept hearing all preseason is how great your team was and what I saw 3 weeks ago was far from impressive. Im not trying to beat up on you guys just being realistic. YOU WILL NOT BEAT A TEAM ALL YEAR WITH A WINNING RECORD AND THATS REALITY!!! -

Mark was the man, and one hell of a Marine. He has settled into the family life now, but he was one hell of a mean SOB on the field. I loved to watch him play. I was at the infamous Orrville game.Brutus;903782 wrote:Drums of war I played ball with your cousin. And wrestled with him. He was a good friend back in the day. How's his parents bob and karen. You have a message. -
tinman 36so, red rider, you are pickin new philly this week? aside from louisville, how is marlington's schedule tougher than ours? computer points dont lie, we both are 3-1. minerva will test them a little, but the nbc is not strong this year. pretty much like your league, kinda down this year, you have 4 teams on your schedule with a winning record, so far you are 1-1. and you cant help it, you play the team across from you

Trust me the NBC schedule would kill you this year. Minerva is a very good team, Marlington, Alliance is decent, Louisville. You do not play that schedule and lucky for you because I just mentioned 4 teams you wouldnt beat! When you go 9-1 and dont make the playoffs just know " I told ya so" -
cfnw_prideRed Rider Nation,
You drink too much or you must not have a clue! Mooney is ahead of us because they beat the Pups and they are still winning (a ton of points beeing fed there) but you already knew that!
Beeing a fan of Northwest, I miss the NBC! But, this years schedule is awesome! Including your beloved Red Riders in week #1. Any realistic fan here in Canal Fulton has much respect for the Orrville Red Riders. I hope Orrville can win a State Title this year! I have good friends there and the respect is mutual.
To say if we go 9-1 and don't make the playoffs just shows how bad you failed math class. But then again, you are most likely going to say you are some sort of engineer in physics with a major in math.
I will be realistic since you are not! Northwest is a great TEAM! Preseason, During the Season and Post Season we are a great team! So there you go! I would never beat up on High School Student Athletes!
Say what you want behind your username! I know there is always a bad apple in the bunch! I know there are great people in Orrville as well.
Have fun replying what you wish, enjoy the rest of your season! I know we will enjoy ours!!!
Go Indians!!! -
tinman 36you just said nw would not beat a team with a winning record, so how they gonna be 9-1. like i said before, you only play 2 more teams with winning records, one of which is west holme who wont finish that way. you better worry about your own points, cause too many more slip ups and you wont be in

Actually Mooney is ahead of you because they play a good schedule! When Orrville is the best team on your schedule and they are D4 you dont have much of a leg to stand on. As for the guy who said the NBC is not strong this year, he sums up the intelligence of most NW fans! You better just be happy you dont have to play those teams because you wouldnt beat many of them. Just so you know, Im not from Orrville, dont live in Orrville and have no connections to anything or anyone in Orrville. I just really respect how great of a program they have. You only wish yours was half of theirs! -
tinman 36So you are an Orrville groupie
-
skiisme753
Wow real happy we don't have to play any of the mighty NBC teams...give me a break NW already destroyed South and would do the same to West Branch and Carrollton. Salem is not much better and NW would easily handle them. Ask Alliance about how they beat NW....o wait they never have because the Indians absolutely own them. Minerva hasn't played near the schedule that NW has. Louisville and Marlington would be the only 2 teams in the NBC that would have a chance beating NW.Red Rider Nation;906277 wrote:Actually Mooney is ahead of you because they play a good schedule! Keep up your delusional Smucker's sugar high and go beat up on the shitty teams you play. Just because a team is a higher division doesen't mean they are good. Orrville is the team with a joke of a schedule if you really look at the teams. Sure you get a ton of computer points, but you are not fooling anyone. Orrville should run the table in their league because the teams just downright suck!
Padua, New Philly, Poland, St. Charles, Canfield wow doesen't sound like a weak schedule to me....and please Orrville is not even close to being the best team NW plays all year. -
fpfpdadchhtinman, good call on the Orrville groupie! Ha! So, Dred Slider Nation, I guess the Northwest program should just shut down for the year because you believe we have a weak schedule. Gee, New Philadelphia is 3-1, Poland is usually very good, Canfield almost won a state championship in D-2 and are always in the Playoffs. You obviously like to stir the pot to get a reaction. I would say any school that has made the playoffs 9 out of the last 10 years would be be a respected program. You know what, Orrville has an amazing program and I hope Northwest continues to play them. But all you can do is bash a program who had to schedule who they scheduled because it was a struggle to get teams on short notice. Padua is going to win more games as they progress. Brunswick and Strongsville are very strong D1 programs that they played. Toledo Desales is a Private parochial school that will always be very competitive. We have been the only opponent to blow out Padua.

If our Orrvilles schedule is worse than yours then how are we 3-1 and 5th in our region and you are 3-1 and not even close to a Top 8 team in yours. If you are gonna talk trash at least make sure your facts are right. If you played Orrvilles schedule you would go 2-8 I will give you Triway and maybe Mansfield Madison -
