All-American Conference Blue Tier?
-
reddevil90OK this started off as a who is gonna win the blue Tier. But i forgot about the change going from 3 tiers to just two tiers. That they yet to be named. The only thing is we have 3 new members.
1.Girard
2.LaBrae
3.Newton Falls
4.Campbell Memorial
5.Champion
6.Liberty-New
7.Lakeview-new
8.Jefferson-new must play conference teams but ineligible for title till the 2012-13 seasons.
I just forgot about this all together. How will this change things? I know we don't play lakeview! does anyone have any info on what going on? -

I've gotta wait until the high school previews come out to make a prediction.reddevil90;827410 wrote:Ok What Team Takes it this year? Campbell Won it last Year. There first Conference Win since 91. Wow glad that's over. Took forever.
OK Who picks who this year. What record will the Conference teams have just in Conference play.
Here are the Teams if all have stayed this year.
1.Girard
2.LaBrae
3.Newton Falls
4.Campbell Memorial
5.Champion
I say Campbell again. Too much speed again this year for the conference. Game 7 should decide like last year with Girard. But this time we play at girard A toss up to some but i stick with Campbell. Newton falls and Champion could be in the mix also but history is not kind. Labrea is going to be Scary if they get a win in week 1 and 2 oh boy watch out. But here is the list by wins.
1.Campbell
2.Girard or LaBrea
3.LaBrea or Girard
4.Champion
5.Newton Falls -

Yeah it is a little early but nothing wrong with a little early prediction. I'm just going buy what i seen last year from some of the Juniors i seen play for there respected teams. Lebrea always has a down season and then a good season if I'm not mistaken. -
ts1227Are they still Red/White/Blue this year? I know there is a 2 tier format that is coming now that Salem and someone else has left/Jefferson and Fitch are coming in, but which year does it come into play?
EDIT: Nevermind, we're 2-tiered this year
Tribune Chronicle on 4/21/2010 wrote:However, adding Fitch and Jefferson was not the only thing approved by the AAC Board of Directors. The Red, White and Blue Tiers will be transformed into Red and Blue Tiers with eight teams each, beginning in 2011-12. Zumpella added there might be new names in lieu of Red and Blue.
Fitch, Howland, Canfield, Poland, Niles, Beaver Local, Struthers and Hubbard are in the Red, while Jefferson, Liberty, Lakeview, LaBrae, Newton Falls, Girard, Campbell and Champion are in the Blue. -
reddevil90Oh wow i totally forgot about that. Ewww. Lakeview oh wow. didn't they just dominate last year. Liberty is always every other year also. Jefferson is a good team also. Tisk Tisk never mind this post then.

Unless something has changed, Fitch joined for all sports EXCEPT football. -
gyea36I thought there were still 3 tiers in football (not including fitch), 2 tiers for all other sports (including fitch)...
-
reddevil90
I'm not sure. I have been checking the Internet and Jefferson must play all aac blue teams. I think that is how it goes.don't quote me on this. I should have put Lakeview and Liberty have been realigned. and Jefferson has been added to play the old blue tier. is this just for other sports and not football?gyea36;827842 wrote:I thought there were still 3 tiers in football (not including fitch), 2 tiers for all other sports (including fitch)... -
BigDean1On second thought, I will not be making any predictions at all. The players and coaches sometime read these forums. In my opinion they don't need any information from huddlers commenting on how good or how bad a team is projected to be.
-
ts1227
They did, but I don't think it has any bearing on the realignment. Red has 7 teams in football, 8 in everything else. Blue always has 8.BigDean1;827828 wrote:Unless something has changed, Fitch joined for all sports EXCEPT football.
The question is whether it begins in 2011 or 2012. Trib said 2011 for the divisions even though both schools won't be fully immersed until 2012, while a Vindy article says it applies once they both join fully (Fitch not for football, though) in 2012. -
reddevil90
I never thought about that. Anywho i changed it the second i found out the tiers are changing or are supposed to change. And again its hard to Judge before even getting the scoop on the teams yet. And to make a assumption before the season and practise is in full swing is not Smart. Heck injuries in camp could change the season in a hart beat. but I'm still looking for info on the Tiers. cause one place said it starts this year but Campbell Don't have Lakeview on the scheduled. so i doubt it and Jefferson is ineligible for league championship. And another thing is Jefferson plays a hard schedule each year. I guess you could say they are a battle tested team. I'm gonna see what kinda season wins and loss for each year i can find.BigDean1;828170 wrote:On second thought, I will not be making any predictions at all. BTrevIt has to take effect next year. Struthers doesn't play Howland, Canfield, Poland, or Niles this year.
-
reddevil90
Ok i agree. But in a article it says Jefferson has to start playing league games now but ineligible for conference win. But i don't see Campbell or any other blue tier team playing them as far as i know. i tried to look for a complete Campbell schedule and found i think only one with just nine games. I don't know its a dead subject i guess.BTrev;829623 wrote:It has to take effect next year. Struthers doesn't play Howland, Canfield, Poland, or Niles this year.
But Go Devils 2010 AAC BLUE CHAMPS -
BigDean1I would say all of this will take effect beginning with the start of spring sports in 2012. reddevil90, Campbell has a complete 10 game schedule. It's the same as last year with the one exception being Edgewood has replaced Salem.

reddevil90OK Dean. Thanks for letting me know whats up..

BigDean1Jefferson has 4 AAC schools on its football schedule this season: Struthers, Liberty, Hubbard, and LaBrae. I believe they might be picking up Campbell Memorial next season. Campbell has Brookfield on its schedule this season. But Brookfield has dropped out of the AAC. My thinking is Campbell must fulfill contract obligations with Brookfield this season before Jefferson can be added to the Campbell schedule. Jefferson is a D-3 school and is really taking a step up in competition in football by joining the AAC. I also heard that Campbell will play Struthers in week one or two starting in 2012.

reddevil90
Oh wow week one or two? Man we did that when the rivalry started back up in the 90's it sucked. its always been and should be last game of the year. that is everyone's rivalry week. that's not going to be as fun. a hot day for a rivalry. the only time i remember a warm day in a struthers game was in 99 and 91.BigDean1;830176 wrote:Jefferson has 4 AAC schools on its football schedule this season: Struthers, Liberty, Hubbard, and LaBrae. BTrevWhen I was in HS, Struthers-Campbell was in week 4, after Liberty, Hubbard, and Rayen/Warren JFK. I agree though. Keep it in week 10.
This would be my ideal schedule for Struthers in 2012... or something like this.
1. Liberty
2. East Liverpool
3. Beaver Local
4. Canfield
5. Niles Mckinley
6. Hubbard
7. Youngstown East
8. Howland
9. Poland Seminary
10. Campbell Memorial -

1. Mineral Ridge
2. Indian Creek or Ironton< Creek cause they are a tough bunch and a very good starting point to see if we have it. Also Ironton cause us few have never forgot!
3. LaBrea
4. Liberty
5. Jefferson
6. Champion
7. Newton Falls
8. Girard
9. lakeview
10. Struthers<--Should never mess with the Struthers Campbell game. Always should be last game of the year.
That in one hell of a schedule there and i would love to see it. Tons of points. -

Unless something changes, that's the way it's going to be. Struthers will be playing one of the schools from the red tier in week 10 because they will move up to the red tier in 2012. -
BigDean1I do know that Martins Ferry is interested in either scrimmaging or playing Campbell in the future. They were very impressed by Campbell in the playoff game from last season.
-
BTrevMy guess would be either Hubbard, Howland, or Niles. I wouldn't mind seeing Poland back in week 10, but that spot on their schedule is likely reserved for Canfield.
I read on the other site, that Jefferson will likely only stay in the AAC for a couple years. Maybe by the time they're ready to leave, Struthers will have moved back down to D4. Then they could jump to the Blue Tier, and the Struthers-Campbell game can go back to week 10.
Wishful thinking, huh? -

Would be nice to see Stuthers drop a Div cause they have struggled with div 3 for to many years. I mean we have to face it Struthers should have been in Div 4 for years now and open enrolment has done nothing but hurt the Cats. And we could only hope for that to happen when they do drop.
Wishful thinking, huh?

That would be a great game. Martins Ferry had a beautiful stadium right by the river. it was a very nice atmosphere. And the teams seem to have respect for each other. there were plenty of times i seen a devils pick up a Purple Riders and same goes for Martins Ferry. There was a lot of respect made on that field. -
lets_go_devilsMartins Ferry is supposed to scrimmage us this year at Campbell. I believe they wanted the preview game scrimmage because the coach thinks we will get them best prepared for their season.
