Ok dean i have the 1986,1989,1990,1964! i had a order for 1985,87,88,91,,92,93,94<----cause it was the last season me and my father went and the last game he went to was the steubenville game! I had a nice tax return and i was just wanting to get it all done!! and i was gonna order the 99 also. to bad that last years season and 2009 will never bee seen again. those years are the turning point of recent success. I realy hope they resume in Honor of Coach Soroka the DVD's. I know he was Proud of those videos and you can tell in the way he made them and the detail that went into how he printed them and even adding a nice zip case was just Icing on the cake. memories are ment to be seen.BigDean1;832259 wrote:Howland came into that 1990 game vs. Campbell undefeated. I am not sure who was teaching the multimedia class after Soroka passed away. The sales of those dvds made some nice money for the school. I would really be surprised if someone does not take that over. Karlin Adams had a phenomenal game in 1991 vs. Struthers. He rushed for 309 yards in that game and played just three quarters. Ja'les broke that record last season. 1993 was the season Campbell narrowly missed the playoffs. The Chaney game was not played that season because there was a teacher's strike in the Youngstown schools. Campbell lost a close game to Poland that season in week 9. ALthough Campbell beat Struthers the following week, the Red Devils needed Poland to lose to JFK. That did not happen. 1994 was a promising season which was ruined by a few uncoachable kids who put themselves ahead of the team. It was also the only season Coach Soroka served as head coach. It was Campbell's first season as an independent.reddevil90;832276 wrote:Ok dean i have the 1986,1989,1990,1964! i had a order for 1985,87,88,91,,92,93,94<----cause it was the last season me and my father went and the last game he went to was the steubenville game! I remember i didn't catch any practises and didn't keep up with what and who cause i was getting ready to get married at that time and only attended the games. But i remember thinking wow we had some size and lots of speed. Then by the second game i heard people in the stands saying this is either gonna start now or they fall apart. Well i found out real quick when i was watching the season go on! some of the football players where at the fences watching the games. and laughing. the starters changed each week. it was hard to keep up.BigDean1;832291 wrote:I am not sure who was teaching the multimedia class after Soroka passed away. The 2011 Jefferson Area game appears for just this year only, until we finally move down a division. My guess at Struthers' schedule for 2012:
Struthers 2012
8/24 7:00PM vs. Campbell Memorial
8/31 7:00PM @ Lakeview
9/7 7:00PM vs. Youngstown East or @ Poland
9/14 7:00PM vs. East Liverpool
9/21 7:00PM @ Hubbard
9/28 7:00PM vs. Liberty
10/5 7:00PM @ Beaver Local
10/12 7:00PM vs. Canfield
10/19 7:00PM @ Poland (or @ h) or Youngstown East (@ h)
10/26 7:00PM @ Howland
Weeks 1, 3, 6, & 9 are my guesses or projections based on comparable open weeks
The rest are probably solid due to checking schedules on:

Good Luck, Cats
OTR, I hope the AAC doesn't fold or experience mass exodus. Forget the politics and Mahoning valley bickering/squabbling, I'm sure most teams like the familiarity and rivalries that already exist. Adding Fitch just makes it feel like the old times. And a new face like Jefferson Area can maybe create some new rivalry for many AAC teams. Travelling will always be there. Ask Campbell fans about that, when they didn't have a conference. They were forced to play at places nobody ever heard of. Also a nightmare when it came to scheduling!
I, for one, like the AAC, regardless of the changes. We should always be looking/scouting for new additions and hopefully better competition to enhance the conference's image. Good luck to all the teams, especially Struthers and Campbell. The two former doormats are really going to bring back old traditions and incite their diehard fans back to the way it used to be. The good ole' days. In my days, Struthers/Campbell could easily draw 9-10,000 fans, either stadium. God, how I miss those days! Games were electric. Crowds were in a frenzy. The pep rallys and bonfires. Very easily one of the best rivalries in the entire Mahoning valley. Ask any oldtimer.
To everyone: Enjoy your teams. Support them all the way. Best of luck to your team! It's gonna be a great season.

Well said Struthers Fan.. This years Campbell VS Struthers Game might be the first time we actually see Newly renovated John Knapick Filled to capacity. Both teams are definitely on the rise. Campbell is expected to have there best team in many many years as there defence shown signs of old. And Struthers finally getting a proven coach in Asher! Campbell's Stadium Holds 7500+ and has yet to sell out. And the last time i can remember Knapick Field ever filled close to capacity was ironically 1999 Struthers Vs Campbell week 11 playoff game.Struthers Fan;868946 wrote:The 2011 Jefferson Area game appears for just this year only, until we finally move down a division.

BTrevI'll be kinda pissed if we have to go to Cortland again next year. That'd mean playing Lakeview away three years in a row. Why would Carden agree to something like that? Doesn't Lakeview play Howland in week 2?
Poland should be in week 9. I don't know that it will. I just think it should.
I'd much rather see the Campbell game later on... mid-September at the very earliest. I know I'm not alone.
This would be my schedule:
1. Campbell
2. @ Lakeview
3. East
4. East Liverpool
5. @ Hubbard
6. Niles
7. @ Beaver Local
8. Canfield (Homecoming)
9. Poland (Senior Night)
10. @ Howland
On a side note... I really hope the OHSAA puts Poland and Struthers back in Region 9 ASAP. If they were D1 they'd be R1. If they were D2, they'd be R5. If they were D4, they'd be R13. etc...
What was the point of putting them in R11? There's probably a good chance that Struthers will drop down to D4 the next time OHSAA decides to make changes, too. -
BTrevI'd hate to see Liberty off the schedule. I don't see how Struthers can keep Campbell, Lakeview, East, EL, and Liberty... and still get in the 6 AAC Red games (BL, Hubbard, Niles, Howland, Canfield, and Poland). One of them has to go..
I'd like them to keep Liberty and drop Lakeview. I doubt that'll happen though.
Kind of a bummer. the Cats have played Liberty every year since 1998. -
reddevil90
If we had a choice i would rather keep Campbell and Struthers. If liberty got to go off your schedule then i would take that first.. rivalry is getting back to its roots and the kids are starting to understand how intense it use to be. but not as close as it use to be though but getting better each year...BTrev;868988 wrote:I'd hate to see Liberty off the schedule. BTrevUnless something drastic happens, don't expect Hubbarrd or Campbell to come off the schedule anytime soon. There's way too much history behind both those games.

omemorialhighDoes anyone have any information on Girard this upcoming year...how many starters they are returning?

BigDean1omemorialhigh;869045 wrote:Does anyone have any information on Girard this upcoming year...how many starters they are returning?
Key starters returning are QB Dan Graziano, tailback Ahmad Eggleston, wide receiver Brandon Byrd, and linemen Alex Walp, Josh Danko, and Brandon Martuccio. Graziano is a four-year starter at QB. Girard has around 21 seniors. -
BTrevGraz played WR his Sophomore year. He is a 4 year starter though.

Spread All DayI have heard grumblings in Hubbard about the new league. They feel its unfair to be put in there. I would imagine Struthers would have a bone to pick as well. I really do see a few teams leaving this poorly organized league

Hubbard thinks any situation in which they can't be the big school is unfair and always has. They always voted against TAC mergers because they were content being the big dog, even though their schedule of all D4 and 5 schools got them smoked in the first round of the playoffs year in and year out. They hate playing schools the same size as them, let alone bigger ones. -

Oh yes, i know they do. Hubbard is Hubbard though. I really cannot say too many good words about the program.ts1227;871820 wrote:Hubbard thinks any situation in which they can't be the big school is unfair and always has. OhioIf it goes as scheduled Lakeview should be really excited being the big dog in the lower tier.
