Hilliard Davidson coach hitting players?
-
d_sportsYou gotta have a plan - but you have to have goal - What is his goal(Ginn)? That goal as Runner-up may not be on his radar(just a bonus)? How many players made it to the next level? $$$$

alaahSaw it on TV, Biglou------- Come on, you're out of your mind...... This thread should have never been started. If you have ever been part of a team of any sorts, whether it be playing, or coaching you know there was no malice there...........

I agree,it was an odd moment--Davidson fans are so full of themselves right now they don't see it---------A friend from Stubenville called me right after it happened and asked me what was up with that??--It reminded me of one of those little league championships where the coach calls timeout at the end of the game to give himself a "drama" moment on TV-------wearing shorts in 30 degree weather must not be "attention" enough------------Biglou wrote: Watch the replay. Those kids were clearly flinching and backing out of the way. -
CenterBHSFanYou people are getting pissy and defensive over a hypothetical question?
haha! -
peoplerfunnyDid anyone notice when the game was over Hilliard Coach Davis had to go clear over to Glenville sidelines to shake Coach Ginn's hand ? Why didn't Ginn meet him at midfield like every coach does after every game ? Whats up with that ?
-
tank2nastyI'm starting to think there is alotta racism tied into this coach Ginn hatred!
You people are hating on a man who has done nothing but good for kids in the Cleveland area!
I'm not a fan of Ginn's coaching but he didn't commit the penalties, he didn't drop the passes and coaching didn't lose this game!
Stop being jealous of the man and credit him for how many kids he takes off the streets and makes into STUDENT ATHLETES! -

Racism stinks but in talking to some fans the last few seasons I can see why people would go down that road. I think those people are wrong but they are allowed to have their thoughts on this.tank2nasty wrote: I'm starting to think there is alotta racism tied into this coach Ginn hatred!

LOL...you think he's the only one that does that? I know the Logan coaching staff wears shorts all season long. No matter what the temperature is. I doubt 'attention' has anything to do with it. I'm sure he was wondering how he was going to dress that day and said eh..there's camera's there..maybe I'll wear shorts just for the attention. :dodgy: Doubtful.OneTiger wrote: -------wearing shorts in 30 degree weather must not be "attention" enough------------ -
skankAnd those cheerleaders, they are such attention wanters, THEY wear skirts in cold weather and are always yelling, trying to get the fans attention.
-
HobgoblinTo put it simple enough - Glenville got "Out - Coached"!!!...

Ah OneTiger, thanks for reminding me why I enjoyed giving a handful of PickCentral fans (most are gracious and nice) the one-finger salute on the way out of C-bus yesterday!OneTiger wrote:I agree,it was an odd moment--Davidson fans are so full of themselves right now they don't see it---------A friend from Stubenville called me right after it happened and asked me what was up with that??--It reminded me of one of those little league championships where the coach calls timeout at the end of the game to give himself a "drama" moment on TV-------wearing shorts in 30 degree weather must not be "attention" enough------------
Evidently you don't know the story on the shorts...maybe you could Google it...most sportswriters in central Ohio have written about it at least once in the last 4 years. -
who dey
no, this thread is more about REVERSE racism than regular racism. God forbid someone quesstion a black man!!! If he were white, and i said what you said about racism, i would be considered as bad as a KKK member...tank2nasty wrote: I'm starting to think there is alotta racism tied into this coach Ginn hatred!

P.S. I am not racist in the least bit, i believe all men are created equal. But it is just so annoying how every time you question something a black man says or does, it is racist. This is the 21st century, racism(for the most part, not completely of course) rarely is a factor. -

GoChiefsPer Google search: "Long, short of it: Davidson coach White wears short pants on game day, no matter what the temperature is.
"I was a defensive coordinator at [Columbus] DeSales in 1996 and that's the last time I wore long pants at a game," said White. "We lost the [Division III] state championship game to Benedictine and I wore long pants for that game.
"I'd like to wear long pants during games but my wife says if I'd wear them, we'd lose the game and my players would never forgive me." -
GoChiefsSo there ya go..just a superstition thing. Nothing wrong with that at all.

soccer_dadHilliard Davidson fans are full of themselves? 2 state championship games,1 going double OT, the other decided in the last 1:04. You wouldnt want to take a timeout to discuss it?With the game on the line, just line up and run it?Whatever,GO CATS, 2 D1 State Titles in 4 seasons.

FanOfCats, I think you're the one who is clueless. Celebrate the victory all you want but the fact that kids were being shoved and slapped at remains. I'm simply asking if the Davidson coach crossed the line by getting physical with his players. Motivation? Are you going on record as saying this type of behavior is acceptable in a game or practice - for any coach? Because again, I have a feeling your bias may be getting in the way. If it were the Glenville coach, you might feel differently.FanOfCats wrote: ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, it's football, it's motivation. You haven't a clue -
FanOfCatsDidn't hit his players. He refocused them. They were celebrating and not focused. They needed to be reminded to protect the ball and to FINISH the game. And I'm on record as stating my opinion he did not cross the line. You asked, I answered. IMO, he wasn't over the line at all.
Now, for you being so smart to be in my head that you can tell what I would have thought if it were Ginn. If it were Ginn, I'd say he was trying to re-focus a bunch of 17/18 year old boys that were self-absorbed in the moment, BEFORE the moment had arrived (12 seconds to go). Oh wait.... that's the same thing I said about White. Shocking! -

Why didn't he just let them know the game wasn't over. Was all of that called for?DrinknByTheBay wrote: What do you mean hitting players? He was letting them know, the game is not over...
They're wearing pads...this isn't Bobby Knight, the kids love him.
I don't get his comment...
By the way, many of the players who played for Bobby Knight love him. What does that have to do with it? -
FanOfCatsDid you sign up under this name JUST to bash? Odd that your ONLY posts under this name are related to this topic. Why not use your regular huddle name?
You asked the question, you got your answer. Now stop trying to push the issue. If you are truly "interested in what others think", then let them post it. But don't argue with anyone and everyone who disagrees with you.
