What teams with Big Red would be a good confrence?
-
ThinthickbigredLets here some opinions on what teams youd like to see partner up with Steubenville in a confrence....

september63I wished Big Red hadnt backed out of the ECOL.
I also realize this was a hypothetical question, but in reality BR wants 8 home games a year. What conference will allow them this? -
Thinthickbigred^^^^^ If we got into a confrence with IC and Edison both of those games would be played at Harding ... We can play 7 home games its been done alot of times .. but 6 is too many away games I would like 7 atleast and 8 every other year is good

Just wondering. Why do you believe Creek and Edison would agree that all these games would be played at Harding?
p.s. This will not happen anytime soon. Alot of schools in the valley will not play Big Red. They have some bad feelings about the "Open Enrollment" that has happened over the past few years. I believe this was the reason they all dropped from the BMAC and started the BMC with out Steubenville. -
war_admiralI find it funny when those schools get OE students...will they send them packing. what a joke. Look, I love how schools complain about the situation in which a FAMILY decides where THEIR children will or will not attend school. Especially when the parents themselves have posted on here and other sites that THEY the parents wanted this for THEIR sons and or daughters.
Put money into your school, build new middle schools, invest in your athletic facilities or build new ones, provide the best equipment for the students, have success in academics...then, just then, maybe you'll see students/athletes willing to stay or who knows be willing to transfer.
COME ONE COME ALL......

QuakerOats... probably would have to be out-of-state schools, since they can't beat anybody from Ohio.

This wouldn't be bad, now get McKinley and Warren, and that there is the best league in the state. -
skankActually, rethinking that, drop EL and go with the other 7, and on top of a tough conference schedule, you could add one or two more toughies.
-
Mortgagestar1Like to see The Red join the conference with Ursuline & Mooney. The home/away contracts and level of competition would be interesting for a run for the playoffs.

This is a joke. Big Red has no business being in a conference with ANY of these schools.Thinthickbigred;673345 wrote:Indian Creek

You guys are like TCU, a nice program that is too scared to go play anyone. -
SykotykSQ, they're all local teams of equivalent size. We play them all in almost every other sport. It would be nice to stay with them for football. Sadly, they don't want to play us.
While you're at it, SQ, why don't you badger IC, Edison, Buckeye Local, East Liverpool, and Martins Ferry for "being too scared to play anyone". We're here. We're willing to play any of them.
See, that's the hypocrisy of your statement. We must 'play up' to tougher competition, but the teams we currently play (which you feel are beneath us) shouldn't 'play up' to our level.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

As much as I hate to agree with most of your post because of the arrogance that comes with them,I do agree with this post as it should be a parents decision where their child can attend school. -
war_admiralANYONE??? Funny go ask Ursuline, Poland, ASVSM, CCC and Watterson if we were scared.......20-3 vs them. All HOME & HOME contracts that were honored.

skankI think a new beginning to the greatest conference in the history of HS football should be in order here. Take the best of the old All American Conference, the ones that are still consistantly competative, Massillon, McKinley, Steubenville and Warren, start from there and build on to it. Those 4 alone would already make it a top 2 conference in the state.

Man that would be a dream. But I think 80% of the time we would be the underdog Vs those three. We are already at the lower end number wise in Div III. -

Isn't Mooney Div IV? Don't hear excuses from Mooney when they play the big dogs. -
4cards^^^^^^
Mooney is D-3 by ONE male student, otherwise we would have been the largest D4 school for the past 2 years.
We're open in Week 10, Come on Big Red....Let's get this thing done & start up a series! -

Good thing we're talking about it on a football board then, huh?
