OK, again. let this record show, I didnt say that!! I can dispute titles but Ill never think again Dover can stay in a game with Massillon. DI v. D III , plus Jason Hall. The guy is going to be a coaching legend. Just dont run him out of town before hand!!skank wrote:
Thanks, I just spit coke all over my keyboard. I have already told you to have your AD call our AD, and set it up. Please week nine though, we always like a breather before McKinley.J-Dover wrote: GO DOVER!!!! I bet next year we could beat the tigers -

if you haven't picked up on it yet, I'm not arguing about Massillon.september63 wrote: Umm. Every one of them was won on the field. AP Sportwriters didnt just give them a World Series Championship because they had the best regular season record!! Really now, Is that all you have? Or because their city had the best reputation from past seasons!!
I'm arguing about the Browns
and all of their titles were won on the field -
september63OK NOL Fan, I am a Browns fans too. But dont 99% of the Browns fans say we havent won anything? Simply bc of no Super Bowl appearences even? My point has always been who counts titles won by their teams in the 1920's now? titles given to them by sportwriters? Even in the 50's, atleast the Browns won theirs on the field. Like you said.

Watch what you wish for, don't think it would look to good to get beat back to back weeks by a DIII schools.
Not that I think we could beat you but hey, someone has to win and our all time wins are catching up with yours! -

not that I know of....september63 wrote: But dont 99% of the Browns fans say we havent won anything?
where did you come up with that ridiculously exaggerated percentage?
I'd be willing to guess that the number of Browns fans who aren't aware of the pre 1966 NFL titles is greater than the number that knows about them but thinks they don't matter -
september631964 was the last one!! can someone retire this thread?

LMAO! You started the thread..now you want me to delete it? HA HAseptember63 wrote: 1964 was the last one!! can someone retire this thread? -
SykotykBrowns have 8 titles, 4 of them in the NFL. Their first game in the NFL, the NFL purposefully scheduled them (AAFC champ) against the defending NFL champ (Philadelphia Eagles). Browns won. Then won the NFL title in the first year in the league.
Otto Graham played 10 years, appeared in 10 title games. Won 7 of them. Retired, and the Browns won one title in 1964 since then.
I'm a Browns fan, and wasn't alive for the titles, but they still count in my book. Which is funny, because most of my friends weren't alive when the Steelers won 4 of their titles, yet they still count them.
As for Massillon, they did win them on the field. They still had to go out and play games. The AP just didn't look at the rosters and decide who was better.

Dr. Ray StantzEvery year I root for the Tigers, and every year they let me down. It's pretty sad when our most storied program in the state and one of the most respected in the country hasn't ever stood at the top of the pile after the playoff games have been played. But if you look at homegrown talent there is no comparing the Tigers with anyone, every year Massillon competes with kids who grew up loving Tiger football (Zwick excluded) and one of these year's they'll get that paper tiger off their back. And when they do, it'll be with second, third, and fourth generation Tiger families in the stands and on the field: Here's hoping its next year!
-
september63Oh My!! Dr. Ray comes out of his closet!! I could not have said it any better!! I do NOT root against Massillon either. You win and I will applaud you. Ive said that before, id be rooting for ya!! Dont give up Tigers, you just might get yours before Dover gets ours?

Big Al CarterThis thread is hilarious. But, give coyotes a break. He truly is a good kid, who is passionate about his team. When it comes to Massillon football, he is the guy I would go to first. Here is to next year, coyotes and your Massillon Tigers!!
