    Walt,

    Which QB returns for PC?

Nick Clagg (#10). He and Grant Hammond split time the last two years. When Clagg was a soph. he took about 30-35% of the snaps. This past season it was more like 55/45 split with Hammond (a senior) getting slightly more reps.

You don't get it, Skank just realized that Licking County is fertile ground to hunt for transfers

This is important stuff to him

Riley is back at QB for Northwest. They lost a couple of receivers but have a boatload coming back. I think next year you will see Whiting go back to Northwest football mixing the run with the pass. Riley ended up showing that he could do damage with his running as much as he could with his arm.

Late September back in 63, I suspect you saw the Dover QB this year. I was quite impressed. I am not ready to push Montana or Marino aside, but as far as HS QBs go, they can try to live low but I am pretty sure in what I saw, and that was a pretty good QB. Granted, he may not have all the weapons if #15 is gone, but if they can get someone some separation that can catch, I think there coaching staff is solid, they have a chance.

I'll be honest, I only saw Dover once this year, vs Marlington, I was more impressed with the Marlington QB in that game. But I have heard many good things about the Dover QB.

I think that if Sylvania Southview drops back down to D2 like people are saying we will be contenders for the D2 title. If we remain D1 we will be a playoff contender and we will see how that goes.

Skank, that Washington High School has a tall, young QB coming back and Jerome Bettis Jr in the backfield. If they have a good D and some people step up to catch the ball, could the Tigers be looking deep into the playoffs in DI (or DII) or whatever division they land?

Yes, they could, we also have Alex Winters back, the 1000 yd rusher as a soph in 09. Our problem is our O-line, we weren't very big, athletic or aggresive in 10, we weren't very deep there either. It took us until mid season to get our running game going. We have some VERY young but talented recievers, untested also. We lost alot on defense, but what we do have coming back will be aggresive. We need to tackle better. So, in closing, I'll say it again, yes, we could....But I wouldn't count on it.

BTW, when do they do the divisional realignments?

OhioStud22;595023 wrote:Ill say Bishop Hartley because I know personally that they wont move up to D3 or drop to D5 but I think Bishop Hartley has another chance of being playoff contenders. They lose a lot of people but the people filling in are also really good and they return Woodley and Zang for the skill positions and they also have them for defense along with Bell and Matuska. I think if they can get a solid line like they did this year on defense and offense then I believe they have the chance to repeat but as of right now their chances are very slim but we will see how this will turn out to be. Also I heard that they will be playing Akron Hoban so that will be an exciting game to see and their schedule will be harder then was this year so we will see if the Hawks can fly high again.

I sure hope Bishop Hartley makes it. We will be there waiting. We will take the game a little more serious than we did this year as it cost us a third straight championship.

Archbishop Alter will prevail again in Region 16 as we have many times before. We should have a strong year. Kenton and Clinton Massie will give us tough games again. My prediction is year two and three from now will be our best teams in a decade. The kids we have as Freshman moving up will rival any team we have produced. That's saying a lot but I think it's where we will be.

Hahahaha....Hahahaha....If I remember correctly....And I DO, this was the same mantra we all heard when Sylvania Southview entered Division I. All we heard was how teams were gonna be surprised when SS went to D1. Keep talkin.

What part of my statement is so funny? If Southview drops down to D2 they will definately be a title contender you know like we were in 2008. Also what is so funny about being a playoff contender if we stay D1? That statement means we will make the playoffs. Last year we had the same success that your mighty Tigers had in the playoffs. It think you're just a little upset about my statement that the programs of Massillon and Steubenville may have started falling.

You're just grumpy at them because they've actually won something this century.

fish82 that's exactly what it is his bitterness of the fading paper titles is getting to him.

Let's get back on topic. How much do the state championship winners lose? I know OhioStud said Bishop Hartley loses quite a bit...
  • Delphosfan
Delphos St. John's loses 21 seniors and 18 starters. Around 12 of those seniors started as sophomores. We've got a good group of juniors and sophomore waiting for their turn but we'll be pretty inexperienced. If we can get through a brutal schedule and sneak into the playoffs, we might make some noise.

    Isn't the MAC always brutal?
  • Delphosfan
Yes, but moreso with an inexperienced team!! We also open with LCC, a Div V state semi-finalist. We currently have week 2 open. Interesting that three years ago, after we finished 2-8, we also had week 2 open and the phone rang off the hook with teams wanting to play us.

    at DSJ
non-Catholics in school: less than 1%
non-Catholics on the football team: less than 1% if any

We don't discriminate. You don't have to be Catholic to attend DSJ but you are required to take Catholic religion classes and attend Mass with the rest of the school.

    Any more questions?
