Akise Teague (RB, Ursuline) Wins 2010 Mr. Football

  • RedRider1
Good for him. It was him or Miller (Wayne). Thought Miller might get it b/c of the Ohio St. commit....but Teague is more deserving IMO. Hits like a freight train and soo quick.

wow.. DV kid gets Mr. Football.. that happen often?

Doing a little research i've found that being Mr. football in ohio is better than i thought with 10 of the past 20 winners have made the NFL with the biggest names in Woodson, Robert Smith, and Katzenmoyer who was a healthy neck away from making some noise in the NFL. The list is more impressive than i thought.. very injury prone

It also represents a criminal element....Clarett and Ray Williams.

Bart Tanski in 07? Come on!

As for Mr. Teague, I saw him vs. Mooney and he is unbelievable. I said that night that if he didn't win Mr. Football I'd like to see one player in the whole state more electrifying than him. Looks like I won't have to.

He's having a field day in Canton and I hope Mr. Tressel is paying attention.

You are correct. That is "IMHO"... Last time I checked, the award was presented before the title game.

That's my point. The award is announced THE WEEK OF the state championships. Not the championship game.

While I dont personally care for Ursuline's coach or some of the players that have come out of that program the past few years, I can not say bad things about Teague. Class guy and I wish him the best in college

Reardon is a class act. Let me tell you as I know him and played for him. He genuinely cares about his players.

May be he does, but I can tell you that I have never heard anyone outside of Ursuline say a good word about him. But if you wanna argue about Reardon, we can do it somewhere else. This thread is about Teague, lets keep it that way. Good luck to him wherever he goes to school.

You haven't looked hard enough. Within the last month one of the most prominent individuals in the Mahoning Valley who graduated from a public school and has financially supported one particular public school told me how much he respects Coach Reardon and how he does so much for the kids up there [at Ursuline].

I saw Teague in the finals this weekend. I was duly impressed. Kid has speed and some power too. Best back I saw all 2010, and in quite a while as well. VERY deserving award.
