Some of the bigger schools haven't offered because of his size.

Archie Griffin was only 5'9" and Woody grabbed him and he didn't do to bad in college :)

I hope the kid can play in the Big Ten. He is a great player. I just don't know if 170 lb running back can hold up with the wear and tear of a Big Ten season.

True, but that was 35 years ago. Pretty much all the players back then were fun-sized. ;)

Teague is a great player and deserved the award...but he has no business in the Big Ten. His best shot at a BCS school would be the Big East.

i think he has the kind of talent that tressel or any coach could figure out way to use while doing their best to keep him healthy. both of oregon's backs are undersized, pitt's backs, florida's backs, jaquizz rodgers at oregon state, wv's backs, etc. i think he could work and be used in bcs conferences and as a buckeye

LeMichael James is 5'9 185 and he's going to be runner up for the Heisman this year.

Chris Johnson from the Titans is only 191 and rushes for 1000 yards every year!!!!

What a terrible statement ," he has no business in the Big Ten ". Why? Rivals has him at 178 lbs. Which is only 7 lbs less than LeMichael James and 13 lbs less than Chris Johnson. They have these things in college called weight rooms. I believe that in 2 years he would be a SO and could weigh 185 or in 6 years could weigh 191. Face it Tressel doesn't know OHIO talent when its sitting right in front of his face!!!

He has an offer from wisconsin. Tressel and Penn St. coaches were at the title game, and hes also getting attention from Michigan.

Maybe Tressel can petition the NCAA to allow OSU to give out more than their 85 allotted scholarships so they can keep all the in-state talent in Columbus. Just because Tressel and all of the Big Ten didn't recruit Big Red's golden boy doesn't mean he doesn't get the best in-state talent, because he does.

    Big Red??

D.Woods can't possibly be upset just because OSU hasn't offered Teague yet. He obviously thinks they missed the boat on Zach Collaros a few years ago.
  • Con_Alma
Thank you for explaining your correlation between the two.

I don't know D.woods well enough to know if he would or wouldn't be upset with a lack of Ohio State offer to Teague.

And yet I not once mentioned Zach in any of my post on this thread. In fact I am upset Tressel hasn't offered Teague along with other GREAT OHIO talents as I've posted several times on here. Unlike you I root for kids to go to BIG schools even if their not from BIG RED so get over yourself. Please know what your talking about before posting Thank You.

You didn't have to mention Collaros. And I it would be great if Teague gets a shot at OSU or another Big Ten school. I just am not going to upset if the Vest decides not to offer him. He seems to do an OK job at recruiting Ohio and outside of the state as well. Who are all these other studs from Ohio that OSU just decided not to offer a scholarship to? Because of NCAA limits, they can only offer so many players. With the talent in Ohio, obviously there are going to be good players that do not get an offer from OSU, nothing to get upset about.

Then why did you have to bring his name up? I know how many scholarships OSU gets but once again when its right in front of you dont lose it !!! Since 2000 only 2 Mr Ohio Football went to OSU. So as i've said either they don't get the award right or Tressel should offer them.

Mr. Ohio should always be offered by Ohio State....just so we never have to endure another Ryan Brewer situation.
  • Paladin
The Ytown area is heavily recruited by the Big 10, Big East, ACC,etc. Teague only has offers from Cincy, and a couple of MAC, in addition a grey shirt from Wisky. All those coaches must be dummies to pass on what YOU perceive to be a great talent. The reality is he is not a MAJOR league talent. He may be Mr. Football according to some voters, but the guys who judge football talent for a living aren't buying it much. He'll play at a Cincy or a MAC but won't be a star. And lets get real, the kid is 5'6-5'7 and maybe 170. Maybe.

Who did the Vest miss that you think he should have offered? I was going to make a list but thats a lot of work to show how big of an idiot you are being. SO since it is obviously on the top of your head...who did the Vest not offer that has your panties in a bunch. I agree with wooball this is all rooted in the fact that Zachary didn't get any looks from the big boys.

I would imagine that had more to do with the fact that the Buckeyes were loaded from the previous years recruiting class(one of the best ever 1998; included Jonathon Wells) and the fact that they had the top rated prospect in the state Kelton Lindsey (tore knee up in 2000).
