Saw on Scout.com Stewart Turner committed to Ball State. Congrats to you Stu! Glad we have him the rest of this year!!!
  • RedRider1
I heard rumblings of this over the weekend.

Congrats to Stewart & his family.
  • OQB
Congrats to him and his family! He really is an exciting football player to watch...and I'm glad he is in the Orrville uniform.

When is the top piece to the scoreboard going to be installed?

    I heard tomorrow

What's the run down on Copley? I hear they're supposed to be pretty good. Is that true?
  • OQB
They got some good athletes back..the running back and QB are pretty good athletes and they usually have a pretty good line as well.

Very good skill guys. Both are mulit year starters. Gigliotti is the QB and he is a dual threat run/pass. Aregeros Turner is best back. Great speed and quickness. If he gets loose he is gone. Not real big. #85 Wheeler is a nice athlete WR/OLB his brother was their stud MLB last year and is at Oklahoma on a wrestling scholly. He is a threat deep...Nice size but not as fast as our guys. Biggest concern is the QB. we have not faced a QB with a threat to run this year, that changes your pass rush a bit. He is most comfortable throwing on the run which does eliminate half the field. I like our speed defensively and I like our athletes vs theirs on the other side of the ball. We cannot give them 14 points like last year or we lose again. No breathers the rest of the way. We might as well win this one. Each one we win takes pressure off down the road.
  • OQB
Usually with a dual-threat QB you have a "spy" guy who basically mirrors the QB and goes where he goes....I would assume we will do the same this week.

Great point 5knots, if they throw more rollout passes and eliminating half the field...our speed will look even better because we won't be covering as much ground. This is going to be a great test for us.

Didn't we have 5 turnovers in this game last year? And still only lost by 1 in double OT on a tough call?

Not sure this Copley team is as good as they were last year. Still plenty good though. We need to worry about us. Keep cutting down on penalties and turnovers.
  • Red Rider Nation
If both teams play their best games, Orrville wins. That will be the case most of the time this year. I agree with RR1 cut down on the penalties and turnovers and we will be fine. If their is an achilles heel on our team it is our kickoff coverage. We are giving teams the ball at 40 yd line almost every kick. Eventually that has to stop
  • RedRider1
kicks barely get inside the 20...not hard to start at the 40 when that happens.

Tanner was booming his EP's last week. That's nice to see. Coach said he's be fine with him attempting from 40 yds out. Most teams dont have that luxury.

It's time to take the next step Riders. One game at a time. Week 3 already. Good luck Riders!!
  • Old Rider
Lets play a turnover free game for once. When is the last time we have not had a turnover in a game??? IF my memory serves me correctly, its been a LONG time!

Looking forward to an exciting game!

    GO RED RIDERS!
  • RedRider1
The EC and Genoa games last year were pretty clean if I remember.

I'm fine with the occasional fumble or INT...those things happen, but it seems when we turn the ball over, it leads to points for the other team. That CAN'T continue to happen.

The top piece of the new scoreboard will NOT be delivered (or installed) in time for tonight's game. Frustrating.
  • Riderpower
    Good Luck tonight Riders!

Shame that the scoreboard won't be complete before tonight game...

Really appreciate this scoreboard but it makes no sense to me why you would put it up and not have all of it there to begin with to finish the project.

Looking forward to seeing what you've came up with RedRider1 to wow us on your screen creations.

Scoreboard came from Iowa I think...and the LED Red Riders on the top came from Florida. The Florida deal got hung up with Hurricane Irene. The delay from the git go was to be patient with the donor who was footing the whole bill.....and I think that was the right decision. When completed it will be awesome. Thank You to all involved.

    Good Luck tonight Riders.

A half installed scoreboard is still better than the old one we use to have, lol still can't wait to see the finished product. It really makes the stadium look nice. Thanks again to the donor and all those that support the Red Riders!

Tonight should be a good game and our first "real" test. I second the no turnovers but I would like to see no turnovers AND no penalties. This team is not even close to playing their best ball and we have already racked up 93 points on the year in 2 games. It could get extremely fun to watch this team late in the year (when Coach Davault has his team playing at its best). Hopefully the weather will hold up for tonight and we bring a good crowd out to support these young men!

    Go Riders!

Down the road I would like to see the stadium wrap around the bleachers like Tuslaw has, it really makes it look sharp. Tonight I am looking for the D to step up and shut down there running game and the offense to continue to be a multi-attack team, Go Riders!
