Refs!!! How many lousy calls have you seen this year?

But why? Do you not think they feel bad about what happened? Do you think they did this on purpose?

Unfortunatly it does happen from time to time ..and we all know it does .....I think 90 something % are basically honest ..i know small town refs can be like small town cops .....I have also seen home refs be to overboard in showing no hometown bias...... Those refs in that Glenville game most certainly ripped the Florida team off .. I think it was however spur of the moment ..They knew if it were close they could try and get away with it ... It was very disheartening ... You really be ethical when calling a game ....Those guys cheated the Florida team ... I dont think for profit nope not at all ..a slim chance of that ,but i think it was more of a home town job .... I see tuff that makes me scratch my head in the SEC alot too and they are college refs.....Most of you guys do a great job and this stuff comes with the territory ....If you want to start a new thread complimenting good refferee's then that is a good idea ..The heading of this thread is a complaint ,so think about that ..

^^^ernest...do WE think they did it on purpose? Well, let's see. First, Alder fans drive 78 miles one way to the playoff game. It was measured off on the odometer. We're even a higher ranked team than Alter. Kettering Alter drives how many miles to the Troy HS stadium? Don't know, but it was a lot, lot less than what we drove. What about a playoff site in the Springfield area? yea,ok. Home town area crew? Maybe. Now, were we homered? You be the judge. 4th and inches on the 12 yard line. Alder is ready to score. Running play off tackle. One ref signals first down. 6 seconds later...hold on. Another ref signals...let's measure and guess what? We get the worst fck'in spot many of us have ever seen and that continued the entire night. Too bad. No first down. Alder completes a long pass play. The reciever is downed at the 4 yard line. Alder is about to score. Hold on. Here comes a flag out of no where. Very, very late flag by an official that was nowhere near the play. (Hell, the guy must have been 5'7" and 260 lbs. Probably could have ran the hundred maybe in less than 2 minutes.) Anyway he calls offensive pass interference. Too bad. That drive is ended. Alder returns a kickoff to the 26 yard line. Set up to score again. First play...offsides Alder. Second play...offsides Alder. 3rd play...holding Alder. Thanks. Another opportunity lost. Ball squirts lose from an Alter player and Alder clearly recovers the fumble. Hold on and yet another late call. One ref signals his knee was down. No fumble. Did Alder team, players, coaches and fans get f'ked. We most certainly did and that is why many called the balless OHSAA to complain.

Honestly, with no replay equipment, there is no way to prove this. What if the spot that was given was actually the right spot?

I'm sorry, but after reading your post, you are nothing more than a butt hurt fan. Players, coaches, and fans are truly unable to see things from a true unbiased, 50/50, both sides of the ball mentality.

You can argue, defend all you want, but your explanation is that of nothing more than a butt hurt fan.

If... by chance... everything that you mentioned did go the wrong way, then all I can say is that it is a misfortune... you didn't get f'ked. The longer you keep viewing things with that type of mentality, the harder it is to truly see things from both sides.

QFT. I'm done with ignorance. I just have to remember not to respond anymore to those two. I guess I do not think it is funny to posse up to hunt an individual down because you did not like their officiating. Weak. Very sad human beings.

Maybe you don't have kids playing on the team but you certainty are trying to live your so called glory days all over again. Do yourself a favor and get another hobby, it's just a bunch of 17 & 18 year old kids for Gods sake. Maybe you should sign up and take the officiating test and let someone else see how much better you can do. I suspect you don't have the guts.

I'm not going to disrespect any football official, but you are all really a bunch of pansies compared to basketball officials. Little different when you can actually see whether or not the guy telling you to basically screw yourself has straight teeth.:)

No but really football officiating is very difficult. In basketball you are closer to the action. I rarely am going to have to make a call about something happening 30 to 40 feet away from me.

You know how all of this could have been avoided?

    If Alder was better.

If that player got into the endzone instead of being tackled on the 4.

If Alder got more than 2 inches on fourth down.

If Alder stopped that kid on the Alter pass play.

Bottom line is you do this job for one game and you realize in a hurry that players lose games for themselves. No one else does it. Unfair or not.

Hey fellas. I don't know you, don't care to know you, but you asked and that's what happened. We all know it's a buddy buddy system on this site. Sure a lot of umpire fck'in know it alls on this site. Take it or leave it or stick it. I really don't care.

No one asked. Your inbred ass can't handle the fact the your team got handled by a better one, and you started an excuse thread.

I read earlier on another site that Marion Franklin HS has filed a complaint with the OHSAA regarding the officiating in their playoff loss to Big Walnut last weekend. Don't have the link, but I'm guessing that there may be some info about it in the Dispatch.

Sorry I don't have a lot of time to respond, I need to get ready to go see my team play this weekend.

Henry showed a video that was sent to the OHSAA at one of the clinics I attended a few years ago. I think a coach had video taped a bunch of plays he thought were bad calls. Funny thing was that all the calls on the video were correct. Everyone had a good laugh about it.

^^^"all the calls on the video were correct". lol Really? Damn, you referees never make mistakes, do you? What a perfect little world you guys live in. Hell, I'm surprised some of you aren't in the NFL with your credentials or maybe there was a reason why you didn't succeed or go to the next level. Maybe you guys weren't worth shit and got out while the gett'in was good. Or wasn't asked back or got bad marks etc, etc, etc.

    Butt hurt.

You really have no clue what he is talking about. When you know the rule book (as an official) the game is viewed differently than it would be through the eyes of a fan who has either only watched and/or played. Playing or being a fan does not mean you know the rule BOOK. Sure, you know the rules, but by the BOOK?
  • Be Nice
^^^Don't give us that shit. You and your dumb ass excuses. YOU have no clue on what you're rebuttal is about. You type to be typing, pal. Rules book. Don't look down your little nose at me and try to justify bad calls by your "brothers". Many of you refs are horrible and you know it, fans know it and school administators know it. You act like a ref can do no wrong. You and others on this site aren't fooling anybody except yourselves. You cry like a bunch of damn sissies when someone tells it like it is and then really starts to get in your face.
  • ernest_t_bass
Lol... Please provide quotes to prove your accusations. I've actually admitted to making quite a few mistakes.

    Lol... Getting in my face?
