Week 8: Ashland (6-1,4-0) at Clear Fork (6-1,4-0)
-
ArrowGrad02Potentially the OCC championship game. Let's get this started!!
-
OQBI see an upset in the making here. Ashland's defense is really soft, and Clear Fork will be punching you in the face from the get go. This one will be a shootout!
-
wallykI see CF getting 300 on the ground and still losing. You must outscore the Arrows to win. The ability of Ashland to score quickly makes the clock work against the running team with their "long sustained drives" plan. The Arrows should torch the CF secondary. Any mistakes will be capitalized on. In the end, teams that only run are forced to pass, and then things don't work out so well.
-
OQBI guess we will see next Friday! That's why they play the games isn't?
-
wallykYou know it is. All want to see the Arrows fail. But, saying it and doing it are two quite different things. Orrville had their reality check today. Looking forward to next week.
-
OQBI hope you enjoyed your early Christmas present. Orrville had their opportunities, and that game was a lot closer than the score indicated.
I always hated Ashland more than I did Wooster, as did a lot of my teammates when we played. -
ArrowGrad02Quick stat: Ashland has never lost at "The Colt Corral", only lost to Clear Fork came in 2005 at Ashland. That was Taylor Housewright's sophmore season. Final score: Ashland 0 - CF 20 in the mud and rain.

We outplayed Orrville. I really don't think they gave us the game, so it wouldn't be a present, IMO. -

That's funny, I don't "hate" any team. Hate doesn't win ballgames. Close doesn't win them either. But yes, an enjoyable evening overall. -
5knotsClear Fork will smack Ashland in this one. I am pulling for the Colts. I know the Colts play the game with sportsmanship. Kick their dirty butts back to Ashalnd CF.
-
OQBOrrville has NEVER lost to Clear Fork....and yet they have beaten a Taylor Housewright team? I look for the same next friday night.

I will go out on a limb and say most Orrville fans feel the same way as you do. -

Yes they beat a young, inexperienced Housewright. -
Go RidersBe a real good game next week. I believe with a different running strategy we could have controlled the clock better and kept the ball out of Ashlands hands. I think we could have scored only running but had to play the come from behind game. If the arrows jump to an early lead against the colts Clear fork is probably done.
-
5knotsI love High School football and I love seeing young men compete in a great sport.....I am real sorry Arrow Grad, but you guys don't have a whole lot to be proud of. Just the way I feel. That is not what the game is about. You may think it is and you are entitled to your opinion. I have never seen CF kids play that way.
-
OQBClear Fork is pretty dirty (I think mostly it is just because they can't beat us), but NOTHING compared to how Ashland plays.

I agree with you. We won and I'm happy about that. But the way our boys conducted themselves on the field tonight is inexcusable. They need to learn that the scoreboard talks the loudest, not them. -
5knotsFor that Arrow grad....I have new respect for you. We agree. Hope you can pass along that integrity a bit. good Luck.
-
OQBHe's the only Arrow on here that realizes it!

I will try to. -
SinisterMinisterArrowGrad...don't go there. The coaches will deal with it, if you played for them you'd know that. The flags were definitely a black eye on the team tonight but I'll bet it doesn't happen again.
-
OQBI'm sure it will.....

I hope so. Those penalties could have cost us the game. Our boys should know better!! I sound like a broken record, but the scoreboard is what counts!! -
OQBListen to your fellow Arrow Chatter Sinister!
-
SinisterMinisterAmen. It stinks to win a game and feel like a loss. I am disappointed in the penalties, the kids know better. I would say that we lost respect from Orrville tonight, however they never respected us anyways. The kids will remember the penalties Monday and then move on to another big week.
