  Bruney threw a fit after the game cried all the way back to MF about it. He claimed he was never playing EL again wha wha wha. The fans where horrible over it even yelling at our assistants in the press box and cussing at them.

  Never playing EL again huh . If I were upset like that Id want to play the other team the next week. I guess East Liverpool isnt one of there normal whipping boys in that buckeye 8

  in a 20-17 game if i was losing and on defense i would want the other team to run a play so that i could try to get the ball back....if they take a knee you lose automatically. and i've never heard of a team getting mad for a team trying to score in a 20-17 game anyway

  Thank You for doing the right thing Outdoorsman, EL is a respectable program and we have worked hard to restore that respect after the previous staff tarnished our image and I just get a little offended when someone jumps to conclusions.

  Everybody should be good now . Martins Ferry if you dont like playing East Liverpool then play Steubenville. I liked the EL MF matchup East Liverpool has never been anybodies punk . They play you tough . Martins Ferry steps all over those Buckeye 8 teams other than Buckeye local like abused children . I hope that MF and EL continue to play each other . It might be worth going to next year. I am angry with the Wheeling Intel for not putting the atricle in the newspaper . I never thought a news oraganization would subscribe to censorship what a joke . I lost alot of respect for that paper. In Stark county do you think they censor Massillon and Canton McK. Heck no everything is printable. I suspect Bruney had a tirade and I think not printing statements from him does the Intels readers a true injustice. I would have bought a East Liverpool paper but they took out the machine the week before that was in front of the Toronto's post office.

  Man up and stop them, don't complain because you got beat again for another touchdown. Martins Ferry is 5-1, and they lost the game 26-17. That means at the time of the pass play, they were losing 20-17. Stop complaining!
  
  I could see if they were up by 40, that would just be uncalled for, but this was a close game and you gotta stop them, maybe intercept that pass and set yourself up for a game-winning drive!
  
  It was also a 10 yard pass, you guys make it sound like it was an 80 yard touchdown pass. Don't get fooled and you guys could've had a chance to win the game.

  With under 1m 30 seconds to go in the game and Ferry with 0 time outs, on 2nd down EL faked taking a knee and threw a TD bomb pass. The play was called by it's coach. Could have just taken 2 more knees and end of game.

Ref flags mf and then picks up the flag for digit over the line then never restarts the clock so el could not run out the clock and was not about to turn the ball over near mid field. With time on the clock. You ferry fans kill me you got it played out coached and took your ball and went home. The video is there to.prove my point look it up under heavydutyone on youtube.

  this is stupid...It's not like they were blowing MF out when they did score. This was the right call, and I'm happy it worked out for them, but not renewing a contract because you lost to someone on a "bush league" play is just ridiculous!

  If this is in fact the reason for not renewing, it's disappointing. I always thought Ferry had bigger stones than that.

  The Buckeye 8 is going to league games from weeks 4 thru 10, so they will have a built in excuse not to play anyone good.

  Ferry would be better off playing teams like Morgan or John Glenn rather than WCC. 1st of all it hurts to play a WV school which still hasn't finished it's regular season. WCC is a solid program, and plays a difficult schedule. They don't have to worry about wins and losses since 5-5 gets them in the WV playoffs. They're a Div 5 with only 5 wins.
  Since the OVAC has refused to initiate mandatory scheduling the Buckeye 8 was born. Very smart on their part. Martins Ferry has in fact been one of the teams in the valley that similar type (size ) schools refuse to play.
  Magnolia, Monroe, Barnsville, Weir, Oak Glen and River all refuse to schedule or have dropped Ferry. The Buckeye 8 scheduling weeks 4-10 has absolutely nothing to do with, building in an exuse for not playing someone. About as stupid as folks saying Steubenville shouldn't be in the Ohio playoffs because they haven't beaten an Ohio team this year.

  I think Ferry takes the easy way out a lot of times. What other excuse could be made for playing the Columbus Crusaders?? Come on, even a canadian team would at least count in the OHSAA point system.

  Sounds more like an excuse to get rid of a team that you think you won't be able to beat in the next couple of years!

  Look at the video's and Bruney called the time out after second down w/ 1:14 left on the clock meaning what??? EL takes a knee on third 30secs run off leaving MF about 40secs... EL was content w/ a 20-17 win as you can see on 1st and 2nd downs, but FERRY wasn't!!!! Therefore get the first down, score or punt. What would've you or the GREAT BRUNEY have done, punted??? DON"T THINK SO!!! AND it was only a 10 yard pass and the kid ran the rest of the way.... GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!!

  Even I have to side with the EL river rats on this one; they did the right thing at the end of the game, MF was out of bounds.
