I think it just a one game suspension. (ONE FOR FOOTBALL)

Ejection for Unsporting Conduct (Disqualification for unsporting conduct or flagrant
    violation)
    11.1) Players
Any player ejected or disqualified for unsporting conduct or flagrant foul shall be ineligible
for all contests for the remainder of that day. In addition, the player shall be ineligible for
all contests at all levels in that sport until two regular season/tournament contests (one in
football) are played at the same level as the ejection or disqualification. When ejection or
disqualification of a player results from illegal substitution in baseball, softball or basketball,
the two contest suspension does not apply.
If the ejection or disqualification occurs in the last contest of the season, the student shall be
ineligible for the same period of time as stated above in the next sport in which the student
participates. A student under suspension may not sit on the team bench, enter the locker
room or be affiliated with the team in any way traveling to, during or traveling after the
    contest(s).
A student who is ejected or disqualified a second time shall be suspended for the remainder
of the season in that sport.

My bad. You are correct. 1 game only suspension

no sensor on tv, I have to say I agree with the Big Red players standing up for each other. What started it was a cheap shot and the player that started it should have to sit out next week as well as not be allowed to be with the team. He could have injured that other kid.

It looked like Brooke kid threw down Big Red kid after play and that started it . Im trying to watch this close and I dont think half them penalties are called against Steubenville if its close . Dude was in endzone on kickoff and the ref seen him but he ran to 40 then Big Red kid gets called for late hit . I dispute that call it was right on the sideline and that was the Brooke bench . I never like to complain about refs but I know how it is . Pitty the team that is down by 3 or 4 scores . second half is coming and Im going to watch more .

I DVRD IT. What is funny is the kid started it from Brooke no. 9 I think,it's hard to read, anywsy after he started all that he ran and hid like a little wuss. Old Reno and BRUNEY had some words also after the game.I doubt very much if we will play again.

I just find your arrogance funny.....I mean how old are you? This topic of a special needs child being turned away from SHS really has nothing to do with football, so why even entertain the poster with a response? But oh no you're just your friendly niehborhood forum troll, and the same goes for the individual who tried to connect BR football with a special needs child that got turned away from a Steubenville city school..... I mean really?...I could poke all kind of holes in the character of Reno and BR football in general, but you know what?....I could really care less about SHS Football......Not my school and not my team ;)
I'm on my iPhone so bare with me!
Show me where in the letter to the editor where this kid got turned away! Did you even read the letter?

This is all im going to say about Brooke. If you cant beat them fight them? Anyway, at some point when your playing against freshman your STARTERS should be out. Bruney did his best to make #31 look as good as he could. He ended the game with 13 rush 26 yards 2 touchdowns ( 30 - 40 of those yards came in 4th against freshman) 0 tds against starters !!! Now on to the DC school.
  • Thinthickbigred
It sover . They will back out . Or will be in for some fun over there next year.
  • OUgrad
Well, how cool was that to hear the original? I like the way BR plays it though!
  • snyds113
I didn't realize the frosh were even dressed.I thought they were always S less on helmet
  • BRfootball1
actually if you carefully watch the replay of the fight, it started by a Brooke kid on the sidelines who walked into the field and hit a BR player........That Brooke kid was not even playing. He should have been thrown out
It would be on the left of your screen , watch the sidelines as the kid walks it and then smashes into he BR player and then all hell broke loose. The BR players who were not playing were some of the kids that got one game out. they should not have been on the field much less run over to the fight.

What matters is Brooke started the fight . Ive watch it 20 times in ultra slow motion. Cant wait for school Monday!
  • BRfootball1
Reno , played as many kids as he could for that game. Brooke wouldn't even take the starters out.
I gotta hand it to Reno. He does try to give most of the kids some type of playing time . And they did very well against Brooks starters.

How does that matter? So they can justify the bad actions taken afterward? What a bad statement. Football is an intense and physical game that needs to be played with a controlled rage. When you lose control you hurt your team. That is what all these young men have done. Maybe not that night but what about next week?
  • BRfootball1
Your right, wrong choice of words. I guess I should have read what I typed before I hit the post. Sorry. I am not justifying any actions at all.

I have several things to say about the substitution thing in the 4th quarter. First of all I know our coaches get a little angry about them guys padding the score against our subs and if I were coaching I might as well but hey it gives our subs a real tough test and that aint so bad really .
I think it is within Brooke's right to leave there guys in . If anybody gets hurt its on coach . Also when we go up 34-7 and then we have our special team kicker take a knee ,to me that is psycological warfare against Brooke . It says We got you beat and will fell sorry for you . We will call off the dogs . I kind of like that move because it shows everybody watching and including the other team we are superior and we are gracious . If I am on the other team I am a little angry at that gesture . Its like telling me your going half go now and I am mad as heck because you beat my azz and I want a little more . Thats just me . I do not know if a reserve game was played Saturday but if not then indeed those Brooke kids who practiced all week got cheated a little by not getting mop up time . I do not know the rules for reserve games and the amount of time you can play on Friday .
In any case Reno always has and always will play everybody when ever he can . Alot of teams dont do that . Hey some kids are not as talented or seasoned enough to start but if you come to Steubenville you will definitly fell like you are part of the team . Whether you are anequipment manager ,waterboy , cheerleader, band member, trainer , doesnt matter you are all important . You are a Big Red family member . Why do we get so many kids to come to Steubenville ,well who would want to get beat up by the varsity all summer then when a chance comes to play on Harding stadium floor in front of TV cameras game of the week and the game has been decided you still find yourself on the sideline . Bruney did his own kids a disservice . Just remember if you want to play for a real TEAM come to Steubenville because you will be treated with respect and value not just some tackling dummy

I think it is hilarious that we had 130+ yards in penalties & still dominated. Not glad for the penalties but so much for anyone saying anything about home-cooking.

I did not like kneeling on the extra point. If you are going to do that then kneel on the one & don't score the last TD. The extra point has zero to do with "running up the score" (it is apart of the TD process). I thought it was a weak statement on our part.

As soon as a whole platoon of new numbers come onto the field the opposing team knows what is going on. Kneeling on the EP was stupid IMO.

Coach Sac has been taking a knee on XP's for yrs(when he has the game in hand). ANYONE that follows/goes to the games knows this. So, I don't understand how some are confused about it or feel it's stupid!

Everyone has an opinion, but Bruneys' reason for leaving in the starters was a complete joke! Coach Sac loses star players year after year, but it's amazing how he doesn't miss a beat. A lot of it has to do with getting A LOT of kids playing time, so when it's time for them to play...they're ready(PLAIN & SIMPLE). A LOT of other schools can't say the same!

I love a good kneal down.It has been going on for years.I is actually the knife in the heart. Bruney has done 3 things by keeping his 1st string in He made our next year starters even better,He made his next year players worse, and he got some extra practice for his starters. So for us it's a good thing
  • Thinthickbigred
I know Sac has been doing that knee on xtra points for awhile . I think it is a syke job nothing more .
As far as Bruney leaving his starters in . I think it was just cosmetic surgery on what we really did to them nothing more . People down in Wva southern parts will read score and say ahh that aint so bad. I see why he did it . I understand it . I still think I am going to bring in atleast a few other guys . I am not going to be real hard on him for what he did ,it makes a little sense in a way . I am really on the fence about it .
Somebody help me out with this and I really want an honest answer because I have missed alot of games but when we have been on the short end of lopsided games ,do we substitute like we would when winning big?
Never been in that position ! LOL Thank goodness.

Ty I wanted to know .
I think though if we have an outside shot at winning the game 1989 down 31-7 late in the 3rd We will not pull our guys .
Remember that comeback ? Missed the game but heard it on radio . We were going balistic and the whole time I said we aint done yet it aint over yet and sure enough we did it.
  • BIG RED
Another FACT. If Big Red would of had the ball on Brooke's 1-2 yd line late in the game...Coach Sac would of took a knee. He's done it numerous times.

Would Brooke or any other school of done the same?????

If I remember right,We could have went for a TD in the last seconds of the McKeesport game??? I listened to it on the radio.. I think we took a knee and just ran the clock out..I know we needed to protect the ball, but I think we could have scored..
