Steubenville Big Red Vs McKeesport Tigers

    Tough game . McKeesport has a solid D and they ran all the time like last year and that offense looked similar .They will win the rest of there games in reg season .
    I also saw Woodland Hills and they played right with Manatee florida for 3 quarters before falling apart and that team beat the #2 team in the country 48-10 the week before WH could have won that game .
    NOW IM GOING TO SAY IT OHIO kicks butt start giving our Red some rankings from time to time If them Florida teams are the best in the USA and I know Steubenville couldnt do any worse than Woodland Hills , well how about Mooney or Collrain or another OHIO team . Its time to give Big Red its due .

    Did anyone think their coach was a bit whiny in the way he gave us no credit and implied "illegal hard count". Has anyone ever hear of an illegal hard count? I mean, if the QBs head/body moves, and I was not at the game, then it's iffy and he can be called for procedure. Maybe I am used to a coach crediting the other team if beaten, not insinuating something illegal. Now it's time to focus on the Bruins.

    I didnt get to see the interview on tv but the Mckeesport guy sitting next to me was whiny the whole game.
    Id say Mckeesport was undisceplined They were getting the jump on us and with a couple of our lineman limping they had to change the count . It didnt change the fact that our deffense was just as effective as theirs was if not more so . We won a hard fought game . and I am proud that our team beat another big school WPIAL power so give STEUBENVILLE its due we deserve it!

    Yes, He seemed that way. He also stated that the 15 yard penalty on the bench was for an official hitting one of the coaches; in fact, it was the other way around: one of the coaches shoved the side line official. I thought the officiating was very good. If there was any question about the count, it would not have been allowed so many times. I'm proud of the fact that none of our boys moved on the count changes. Yes, on to Brooke!!!

    No his head wasn't moving...they just changed the count. McKeesport was so agressive on the dline that they were just teeing off without watching the ball.

    And by rule, if a sideline official is obstructed in any way, then it is a penality on the bench.

    These were PIAA refs, so I'm sure they weren't trying to give us any breaks.....example is the flag on the punt return for a TD, as the flag came out at the 50 when Murray was crossing the goal line.

    I didn't 'contidict' myself anywhere. I just asked a simple question. I've never seen a fan base get as riled up as Big Red fans when someone says something negative about their team.

    And as for the avatar...I was going to change it since pro season starts Sunday..but I'll leave it now..just for you. :p

    We get riled up yep. Big deal thats what this site is for to debate argue as well as say all the politically correct things . We are passionate about our football .
    Another thing the government of Ohio has left our area in the dust . They havent cared about us for a long time , Football is a great outlet for us with 15% unemployment in our area . Even when times were good though we followed our team just like Massillon does .

    It looks like the PA media thinks a loss to Big Red means the team isn't any good. MSA Sports dropped Mckeesport out of the top 10 while keeping two other 0 - 1 teams.
    #5 Gateway (0-1)- that lost to AAA PA team Bishop McDevitt (both gateway & Mckeesport are AAAA -quad A)
    #1 Woodland Hills(0-1) - that lost to Manatee (FL) - this one is understandable maybe...

    It looks like Big Red fans will be paying close attention to the WPIAL conference this year as we did last year. My guess is that McKeesport will do just as Woodland Hills did last year and show that a loss to Big Red doesn't mean you're a bad team.

    Ty You know I did a little research and The Wolvarina is ranked 8th best HS stadium by ESPN and they also noted the intimidating rabid fan base the team has . Not one of those schools fromWPIAL even had half as many people at the game as Steubenville . They got some nice teams and I did like the stadium although it wasnt near as nice as Harding and if that stadium was rated 8th ,Id say ours should be rated 7th
