Capone = member of the site
Your town = not a member of the site

I mean, you complain bc something said something negative about a town? U serious? WOW

Hell, er, I mean Heck yeah I'm serious, you guys want to keep this HS forum clean because the kids might get on here and read it, you think some kid wants to get on here and read that his town is the "anus of Ohio"? Where's the line?

I'm kinda curious about the dealing out of the years. Not because of the 20 straight year thing, but because , this new deal was put in place with 2 years left on the old contract. If they make the next deal with 2 years left, Cbus won't have had the chance to host yet. I would think the OHSAA would want to see what it's like with the games in Cbus before granting them more years. I don't know. I'm going to take a wait and see approach. I think they shouldve stayed fully in Stark County, but I'll give it a chance in Columbus to see how they come off.

The line is where justincredible determined. The mods know what justin expects of this forum. If you got an issue how it's ran, I guess you will have to take it up with him. You're just upset b/c you assume someone bad mouthed Massillon. And actually, he never mentioned Massillon in that post. He did however, mention Canton. :D If someone had said something similar to say, the Bulldogs, you wouldn't be bringing it up at all.

    Rules are simple
    1) No bashing other members of this site
    2) No foul language.
    3) No rumors.

Do I agree with his post? No. But, do you care to show me where he broke any of the rules?

I actually thought about that as well, you would have thought they would have given Columbus 2012 & 2013 and back to Stark County for 2014 and 2015. You already know what Stark brings to the table. Give the first 2 years to Columbus so when the contract negotiations begin again, you will have an idea of what Columbus can do.

I think the assumption is that the OHSAA will pick up the option years for 2016 and 2017 (whether those go to Stark, Columbus or both is all they would have to figure out come 2015), so most likely they would be bidding out for 2018 in 2016, thus Columbus would have hosted.

I don't know the last time the OHSAA didn't pick up the option years in the contract.

Sorry Skank...didn't realize that kids from NE Ohio are such delicate flowers they might become mentally scarred from reading a word that exists in every dictionary in America. But don't worry ya got a few years to toughen those Bulldogs up so maybe they can make the trip to C-bus in 2014 to play in the greatest venue ever for HS play-offs!

true, but not many schools play on grass that just had 5 other games played on it in less than 48 hours either...

Valid point....really I think Crew Stadium should be used for DV and DVI because that's going to be a sad sight in a mostly empty shoe. As I can attest to, there's NOTHING more exhilarating than being on the field of Ohio Stadium on a gameday....but that's with 105,000 screaming fans. 10,000 fans would just be a sad sight to see, but it would still be cool for the kids being in the locker room and things like that.

I just like Crew Stadium because it's the perfect size (capacity wise) for the games, it has permanent lights that work great for night games, and it is just a very nice stadium. Imagine an entire D1 student section screaming in the Nordecke!

You have to think that having to prepare only one site had to be a factor in favor of Columbus. I'd always understood (correctly ????) that the reason two sites were used in Stark County was that there was not enough parking to handle the overlap between the outgoing and incoming crowds between games.

With support logistics a non-issue in Columbus, I'm not sure that throwing a second facility in the mix would be needed - or wise.

True, but it's not like Crew Stadium and Ohio Stadium are very far from one another.

Not gonna lie, their stadium is pretty sweet and would be great for the state championships.....but yea there's no way the city could accommodate all of those people

In Steubenville, we do what we do best. Geographically we are not suited to host the state championships. But we are hosting two rallies this year. One of them will include Iggy against Don Bosco. These should be very exciting events with 10,000 people there.

Speaking of our stadium, we are in the process of rebuilding it. As sweet as it is, it will be even better next year.

Playing on that field will be a thrill for the kids no dought, just ask anyone who played or coached in the North-South game. But I'm affraid the atmosphere will really be lacking. Crew stadium would be a good choice for the games, but aren't there other high school facilities in the Columbus area that could hold the games? Doesn't Coffman have a nice stadium?

They had a Crew/Coffman bid the last time, and it was just horrendous... they basically just went through the motions and didn't really try like this Columbus bid did.

I would think that after the OHSAA laughed them out of the room back then, they may have been hesitant to go that route again.
(Plus, if you dangle OSU in front of an organization headquartered in Columbus, your bid doesn't even have to be that good to get them on board)

Son....kids from NE Ohio are the toughest kids in the state, get your head out of your....anus....If you would follow along, instead of just trying to start trouble, you'd know that I have said from the beginning, that the title games probably DO belong in Columbus, but I like them being here, in the HS Football Capital of the World. Plus, you attacked the area where I live, that's a penis like thing to do.

Are they really the "toughest kids in the state" anymore? Years ago I'd probably give you that one but lately it seems they aren't the tough steel town hard scrabble kids they used to have up there. Hilliard Davidson's "suburban" kids didn't have much trouble with the Glenville last year.
