Are we seriously having this "debate" AGAIN?!?! Good f'in' lord -
ZombieKillerI seriously didn't mean to vote for Kobe. Lebron is going to win it. Eddy Curry will finish 2nd though in a the closest race in history.

Lovejoy1984Reggie Evans.....GOAT Status.
Serious note. mtrulz is really annoying. -

3reppomThe question isn't who's the MVP, is who finishes 2nd. And in that race it should be Durantula without question.
-
SQ_CraziesStupid thread, the poll should be unanimous, there isn't another argument for any player in the league. Durant is the closest but he's not close. When Kobe fans agree, you know that's true--and nearly all of them do.
-
2quik4uWell when the Lakers win the title this year Kobe will keep his title as best in the league

No he won't. Hasn't had the title for at least 2 years now.2quik4u wrote: Well when the Lakers win the title this year Kobe will keep his title as best in the league
Best team, maybe. Best player....not a chance. -

Fab4RunnerI actually do have a serious question. How do you think the MVP should be decided? I know there are many different opinions out there as to what the requirements should be. Should it be the best overall player regardless of how good his team is? Most important player to his respective team? Best player on a contending team?

The funny thing is, 1 player fits the criteria of all of those requirements.Fab4Runner wrote: I actually do have a serious question. How do you think the MVP should be decided? Fab4RunnerYeah I won't lie...I'd be afraid to go up against it...

hoops23haha..
To answer your question though, at least imo, it goes to the most valuable player on a contending team.
For instance, if you take LeBron off the Cavs, they MAY make the playoffs, but they'll be fighting for a 8th seed at best. With LeBron, obviously, they're the best in the NBA right now.
The thing with Durant, I probably have him in the top 5 or 6 players in the NBA, however, the Thunder really got going when Russell Westbrook came alive this season. He's easily transformed himself into one of the top 5 PG's in the game over the last half of the season. Not to mention the overall numbers LeBron is putting up.
Durant would be my runner up this year though. -

I agree. Anyone who dominates freshman high school basketball like he does with all those 20+ point games in 24 minute games, including one where he mentioned he single-handedly outscored the other team...and one where he brought up that he had TWO three-pointers plus free throw plays...is just better than anyone. Hell, he even noted a few hours back that he won EVERY event he was in during his first track meet of the year!Cleveland Buck wrote: Mtulz for MVP
As an extremely naive and trusting person, I am VERY disappointed that this site's users have not been regularly posting this elite athlete's accomplishments on the high school boards. And I'm very confused at how such an amazing freshman hoopster apparently never got called up to the JV and/or varsity (and since he broadcasts every little thing he does, you know he'd be bragging about this). You'd think any program interested in winning games wouldn't want a point-per-minute player stuck at the lowest high school level of play, wouldn't you?
The mysteries of life...da kid must feel unappreciated...he should drop out of high school and play overseas until he's eligible for the NBA. Preferably in some country without reliable Internet access.
