Did the NBA start in 2000?

Early 90's Jordan hadn't accomplished anymore than the current version of LeBron has either. Until he got Scottie Pippen, he had a career much like the one LeBron has had thus far.

Are we now questioning Jim Brown? lol. The man was like 6'2, 230 pounds and ran like a deer. One of the top rushers ever despite only having 12 games seasons and played a total of only 9 years. If people like Eddie George and Jerome Bettis can be Pro Bowlers, why wouldn't Jim Brown be in today's game? There will be those who say "the players he played against weren't as good" well it goes both ways with that. Jim would have had the benefit of running behind much bigger offensive lines that really could help add up yardage. Sorry to get off topic but Jim Brown is definitely the greatest NFL Running Back (or player) of all time. Would take him over Peterson any day.

Since it was brought up... Ali would have Tyson laying on the canvas saying 'I thought I saw a tweetie bird', in his faggot lisp. Ali boxed stronger, bigger, and better dudes and left with the belt in his hand. Tyson dominated on weak ass competition as a youngster, then got beat by the good boxers as the heavy weight division got better. Tyson was a walking haymaker. Ali mind fucked those kind of guys for 13 rounds then put the pounding on them the last 2 rounds.

For the most part, I think athletes are better now-a-days because the work ethic has evolved more. However, I won't forget the greats from the past. We'll never know who would have been better than who.. at least in this lifetime we won't.

    100% agree with jpake.

Ali was and always will be the GOAT.

Look at what Ali was able to do to Foreman, a much more powerful fighter than he was, during their "Rumble in the Jungle" bout.

if jim brown played in todays game with the nutrition and training techniques, how much bigger and faster would jim brown be? my guess is he would be running them over now like he did years ago. on the other side of the coin you take peterson and put him back the era that brown played would he be smaller and slower? not mention the equipment the players used back then are far a cry from what the players use today.

Jim Brown would be a BEAST in todays NFL like he was back then.

He was AHEAD of his time.

Plus Peterson wouldn't play any games on turf. He is much better on turf.
