Did the NBA start in 2000?

  • SQ_Crazies
I bet there are guys who would work Ali now. But comparing people now to people in the 70's isn't fair to the people of the 70's. Boxing sucks because it's not nearly as big a deal as it was then. People quit caring about boxing. But guess what, these days they make a HELL of a lot more than they did back then even with the sport dying out. How many young kids in the last 20 years have you ever heard say "I want to be a boxer"?
  • KnightRyder
yea they would work ali now, probably because he is like 70 yrs old and has parkinson's disease. put in his prime there hasnt been anyone that could smell him. and if you bet these tomato cans today could beat him you would lose. the bottom line is ali was the best heavy weight boxer that ever breathed. case closed.
  • SQ_Crazies
Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson would have beat Ali's ass. Just because you were the shit back then doesn't mean you'd be the shit 30 years later.
  • Hb31187
Tyson would of gave Ali the business
  • 2quik4u
tough call, boxing doesn't really evolve like other sports do
  • SQ_Crazies
Human beings have evolved and technology has just sped the process up. Boxing sucks because people finally realized that it sucks and no one cares anymore.

Ali would have had a tremendous reach on Tyson and could have rope a doped him all day. Tyson would have to fight his way inside to have a chance and Ali was great at strategizing against any opponent.

    Under the college rules?

Do you even watch the college game? It's basically 3 pointer after 3 pointer. BOTH levels are REAL basketball though.. Because it's in the reality upon which we live in ;)
I watch plenty of college and if you are foolish enough to think it's just "3 pointer after 3 pointer" you know less about it than I already thought you did. College is not based around one guy going one on one all the time like the NBA is. You can actually play a zone in college without being called for a stupid 3 seconds without guarding technical (perhaps the dumbest rule in the NBA). You don't see player favoritism nearly as much in college compared to the NBA or as many crap calls. The NBA now is developed to make sure the stars succeed or to the best of their ability. College is not designed that way. All the new garbage rules have really hurt the game in the NBA and it is no where near as exciting nor as pure as the college game.

LMAO, it's 1963, the year Jim Brown set the NFL mark at the time for yards in a season.

    Who do you want?

1963 Jim Brown or current Adrian Peterson?

Next question, it's 2010, who do you want?

1963 Jim Brown or current Adrian Peterson?

Both are no brainers for those of you without brains...

And Mike Tyson would have knocked Ali out in the first few rounds.

Rocky Marciano finished undefeated. How do you think he'd fair against Mike Tyson?

I say it lasts about 2-3 minutes.

for a while thought your knowledge was limited , no i know it for sure.
  • KnightRyder
are you talking about the same mike tyson that got absolutely dismantled by a journey man named buster douglas?
  • SQ_Crazies
Yes, that Mike Tyson. He would beat the shit out of Ali.

Happened to be reading this article about why LeBron supposedly needs NY (they're getting desperate) and found it funny that this was in there:
Back in the day, Willis Reed never saw anything like LeBron James.

"Guys like him hadn't been invented yet," Reed said.
Sorry that you old guys can't get rid of your boner and realize that the guys you loved paved the way for todays players to be better. At least you don't have to take Viagra yet.

mike tyson couldnt survive with a club fighter like buster douglas, then to spare himself another whoopin he bit the ear of blown up light heavy weight in evander holyfield just so he could get out of the ring. the same mike tyson that was afraid to step in the ring with a decade or more passed his george foreman. who ali knocked out when he was in his prime and you think he can beat the greatest fighter that ever lived. wow your scary stupid
  • SQ_Crazies
    LMAO!!

And Bob Feller would dominate the Majors right now.

And LeBron wouldn't be any more dominant than he is now in the 1970's.

Get back on your meds old man.

Ummmmm, Jim Brown both then and now. unless you dont mind fumbling and less yards per game in both rushing and recieving. someone with Jim Brown's size could play today no problem.
  • SQ_Crazies
HHAHAHAHAHAHA!! That's funnier than anything I've seen yet on this episode of AFV. Thanks for the humor!

When you are the greatest running back of all time, generally that means you can be the best running back of any time.
  • SQ_Crazies
    Right.

And I'm 10 feet tall with a 50 pound dick.
  • SQ_Crazies
And the GOAT call is funny. He could have been the GOAT left tackle when he played...get what I'm sayin'?

    Current LeBron.

Not even close to the same comparison though, Jordan played in the 2000's.

yep that shows your bias, no point in ever arguing with you again
  • SQ_Crazies
    That shows my bias?

I've clearly stated that I think the league is better, deeper and more talented than ever before. LeBron is putting up PER numbers that challenge Jordan's in what I think is a tougher league. So that shows my bias? No. It just falls right in line with the rest of my argument.
