Jesus fucking Christ. I don't even know where to begin with this. You deserve to be eaten by wild boars.

Yep, see. Exactly like I said--if you care, you're just an asshole.

There's a code here to this game, Crazies. There's a god damn code. You're breaking about 860 rules to said code.

YOURE THE FUCKING ASSHOLE AND EVERYBODY HERE WILL AGREE WHEN THEY SEE THAT LIST. You have lost the last two shreds of credibility you were desperately clinging to.

You're clearing a fan-whore who shills out his fandom to whoever is in vogue right now. You're a fucking clown.

    The fuck outta here.
  • SQ_Crazies
    Bahahaha! Riiiiiight.

Like I said, people who care are nothing more than assholes. They'll agree when they see my list? They may be confused by it, but I don't think they'll think I'm an asshole--they may think that about you after reading that post though.

Fan-whore...haha, your originality is on display every day on this site..

I won't go as far as Sage. I don't have any idea if you're an asshole, and you seem knowledgeable, but that list is ridiculous.

Anyway, I'm under 30. I'm 28. When I was a kid and I was shooting around in my driveway by myself I would pretend I was Mark Price shooting jumpers, or I was Hot Rod Williams around the basket. Hell, I have a great free throw stroke to this day because I copied Price's form at the line. I watched the 1997-98 team with 4 young players and Kemp make the playoffs and thought we might have something to look forward to for years to come. I was wrong as usual. When I was working security at CSU when I was in college I would sit in my car and listen to the Cavs games on the radio, even the year they won 17 games. I was at work listening on the radio when the Cavs won the lottery. If/when LeBron leaves I will hate his fucking guts. I will still watch the Cavs and root for them in vain.

It is a bit ridiculous, there are very good reasons for every team on there. But that's why I said "I already know how a lot of people would respond to reading that", right after I posted that list. I know it's a little crazy, but I have good reasons for all of it--which was my original point, that people can be fans of anyone for many different reasons. And it shouldn't matter to someone else why. And I'm well aware that my list is a good example of how people can be fans of all sorts of different teams.

And pretend like it's the worst list you've seen. I know multiple people that grew up a fan of the Bulls, Cowboys and Indians. A little more recently they were fans of the Lakers, the Patriots and the Yankees. LOL, I'm NOT a bandwagon fan like that--in fact, success has nothing to do with any of the teams on my list.

I wouldn't say you are bandwagon. The only thing I would question is you can't be a real die hard Browns or Indians fan when you cheer for their hated rivals too. It just doesn't work that way. It would be like a Red Sox fan cheering for NY. But hey, to each his own. I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

I'm not a diehard Cleveland fan.

Alright, even though I think it's stupid that I have to do this, I'll explain myself so it makes more sense to all of you.

    NBA
    LeBron then Cavs
---In pro sports, I've always been a fan of players more than teams. Used to be Grant Hill. When LeBron was in high school, I was a few years younger. St. V's played in Salem during the state playoffs, during one of the early games I just happened to get the chance to sit and watch the game with LeBron and the rest of the Irish. I had his AIM screenname and used to talk to him on there. So naturally, I was a big fan. That was his sophomore year, shortly thereafter he was on the cover of ESPN and I never talked to him again. When I was little, I went to tons of Cavs games--was always rooting for them unless they were playing against Grant Hill. But I'm a LeBron fan first. The Cavs will always be the only team I really care about but if LeBron goes to the Nets--I'm still a huge fan.

    NFL
    Cleveland and Pittsburgh
---This one is weird, but let me start by saying I'm not that big a fan of either, but if I had to pick a team it would be one of them. They're just the two I follow the most--I got to go to games in both cities when I was young. But living around here, they're the most relevant in my life. My friends are all pretty much one or the other, so I like to stay on top of it so I can be part of the conversation. I follow them more than anyone in the league and probably equally, root for both. Unless they're playing--I root for the Browns because there is still a part of me that is a Cleveland fan (just not a diehard like others) most others. But really, I'm just a fan of the league. No matter who is playing I love to watch it. If the Browns or Steelers are playing but there is a better game on--I'm watching the better game. So this isn't as big a deal as it might have seemed.

    MLB
    Yankees and Indians
---First of all, I've probably been to more than 300 Tribe games since I was at the first game ever in the Jake against the Mariners. It's actually probably more than that but I don't really know. So that is basically why I like the Tribe--and I was young during the WS runs and got to go to the games. Baseball was my sport, so it was a really exciting thing. Omar Vizquel will always be my favorite baseball player of all time. BUT, I'm a Yankees fan first and there is only one reason. I was a pitcher when I played. My grandpa taught me how to pitch when I was 4 or 5. He played...and he was good. After graduating college, he had a scholarship offer to play at Notre Dame and he had a farm club that wanted him to play for them. He chose to play for the Yankees farm club. He did that, completely dominated, played with many players that played for the Yankees. Hank Bauer was his catcher for a time. After a short stint with them he was offered a contract to play for the Yankees. Before he could even accept the offer, he got drafted to the Army. He served in WWII in England and Germany. They played baseball tournaments overseas, my grandpa was the ace for the team that won Patton's 3rd army championship. When he came home, he came home to my grandma and they decided to settle down and open a grocery store in Fremont, Indiana. Basically, he was my hero. He didn't get to see me play often, living in Indiana, so whenever he did I got all excited. I'd pitch the game of my life every time he'd come watch--I had 3 no hitters in the same season, the only 3 he attended that year. He was a Yankee fan, he wanted to play for them--that's why he passed on Notre Dame. He taught me how to pitch. That is why I'm a Yankee fan and always will be.

    NHL
Penguins and Red Wings (not so much anymore, I was just a big Yzerman fan)
---I don't think anyone really cares about this, just been to a lot of Pens games and like I said, Yzerman was my favorite player when I was young.

    College football
    Buckeyes.
---I've lived in Ohio for the majority of my life--in a family (my moms side, the Ohio side) full of diehard Buckeye fans. Naturally was going to be hooked, love the Buckeyes. Fuck Michigan.

    College basketball
    IU Hoosiers
---I was born to be an IU fan, seriously. My dad never would have let me think any other way. I was born in Fort Wayne, he was from Fremont, Indiana. HUGE Hoosiers fan, and so was my previously mentioned grandpa. The story goes that when I was a month old, I sat on my dads lap in a baby IU jersey and watched Keith Smart hit the shot. Love the Hoosiers too--IU/Duke in 2002 is one of my top 5 all time favorite games. Fuck Kentucky (except I really have no hate for them, it hasn't really been that much of a rivalry to me in my lifetime).

See. I'm not an asshole. I have very valid reasons for why I'm a fan of every team I'm a fan of. I didn't just pick out of a hat--I've been influenced somehow one way or the other. Which is exactly my point, who knows what influenced people. I don't know hardly any of you personally. I can't assume that you're some bandwagon fan because I don't know you. But, jpake grew up in Ohio as a Cowboys fan. They influenced him when he was young because they were the shit. You're not a bandwagon fan when you're under the age of 10. The only kind of fans I don't like are the guys I mentioned earlier. Fans that say they're fans of whoever is good in a given year. But jpake still loves the Boys and he always will. It's stupid to question it, who cares who is a fan of who or why. That's why you're an asshole for caring--because there are any number of different ways that someone could have been influenced in how they feel.

Rant over, sorry, it's a book I know. But I believe I warned you guys, I HATE this argument because I think people are being arrogant fucks when they have an issue with who you're a fan of. It's a serious pet peeve.
  • jpake1
I'm joking about the fanwhore thing.. well maybe not. But trust me, SQ is not a 'wagon fan. He is a HUGE OSU ftball fan and a HUGE IU bball fan. After that, he's just a regular guy that'll watch ball games. He's a big Cavs fan, but it's mostly because of LBJ. If he leaves and say comes to Miami. I bet he'd me a big Heat supported, but he'd definitely still be a Cavs fan at the same time. Once you get to football, baseball, and hockey he doesn't follow it all that much, but if somebody has to win, he'd like to see the teams mentioned. He's stuck with IU the past few years. He could have been on Roy's nuts, but he wasn't.

^^^My eyes are bleeding from too much reading..lol

Appears this will now be 3 following the Hawks running all over the Lakers.
  • ZombieKiller
    the lakers are shitty
  • SQ_Crazies
Didn't Kobe just come out and say he wanted the team to start playing with more urgency?

    Some leader.
  • Lovejoy1984
Well maybe it'll stay at 4 if the cavs can't pull their heads out of their ass.
  • wes_mantooth
Cavs have looked like poo for most of the night. I think this is a hangover from that Boston loss in October or November.
  • Lovejoy1984
    Mo GOTTI!
  • wes_mantooth
WTF is up with the Cavs D? They are daring the Bucks to hit open shots.
  • SQ_Crazies
    Confused.

You probably root for both Salem and West Branch too then huh? :D
  • SQ_Crazies
God I love that play. I can see it coming every time, how does it work on EVERY team?
  • SQ_Crazies
No, fuck West Branch. Like I said, I once took a dump on the 50 yard line of your football field. I do have a lot of friends from WB though.
  • wes_mantooth
lol...how did that ref miss that? It will get reversed, but that is god damn retarded.
  • SQ_Crazies
Yeah, I'm not sure he was standing right there.

Speaking of the Hoosiers, I've seen Kelvin Sampson's fat ass one too many times tonight.
  • ZombieKiller
whats the over/under for Kobe throwing his team under the bus?
  • Lovejoy1984
    2 more games.
