Report: LeBron wants No. 6
-
mallymal614Enjoy him in a #23 jersey while you can, because apparently this will be the last season he wears the number. I know he mentioned this before earlier this season but he just recently sent in his paperwork.

SQ_CraziesYeah, I was waiting to see if this report came out in the next few days--I think the deadline is in the first week of March.
It's whatever, the number doesn't mean shit. -
wildcats20Just another money maker.
-
TBone14Maybe his jersey sales were leveling out.
-
mallymal614Is because #23 is already taken in New York?
-
wildcats20No but it is retired in Miami.

LOL, LeBron could take pretty much any number he wanted in the league--with very few exceptions, like 24 in LA.mallymal614 wrote: Is because #23 is already taken in New York? -

And 28 in LA...SQ_Crazies wrote:

bulldog8LeBron to the Bulls.....Hallelujah!
-
pbuckGreat now I'm gonna have to buy a new jersey next season FML
-
goldengonzoCompletely obvious that it's a money thing.
You mean it took him 10 years to decide 23 was MJ's number? -
sleeperAnd #6 he shall get.
-
mallymal614If he is giving up #23 to honor MJ, does he know that #6 is Bill Russell's number who also had a huge impact on the game?
-
SQ_CraziesBill Russell isn't his idol.

hoops23If LeBron was going to sign as a free agent somewhere, he wouldn't have to file this paper work because it means he'd be changing his jersey completely..
So this tells me his intentions are staying with Cleveland.. Like everybody else has said [read: MJ, Scottie, Shaq, etc..] -

Fab4RunnerYeah he could pick any number he wants if he goes to a new team. He only had to file paperwork to change his number for the Cavs.

Lebron requesting a number change before the deadline means NOTHING either way.LTrain23 wrote: If LeBron was going to sign as a free agent somewhere, he wouldn't have to file this paper work because it means he'd be changing his jersey completely..

He may be doing it IN CASE he stays in Cleveland and the fact that he's asking for this change doesn't mean he's leaving either. He has to do this on the chance that he does stay if he wants a new number. If he leaves it's a moot point.
Personally, I'm thinking he'll stay, if he's smart. But the request really means nothing either way. -
ytownfootball^^Ya just gotta be a Debbie Downer don't ya^^

Sorry. I want him to stay as much as anyone but I just think this is a shrewed Lebron covering all of his bases.ytownfootball wrote: ^^Ya just gotta be a Debbie Downer don't ya^^ -
Fab4RunnerObviously it doesn't mean he is staying for sure. I don't think anyone actually thinks that. It's just funny to see people say it must mean that he is going to another team when actually it indicates otherwise. Gotta love people who have no idea what they are talking about.
-
ytownfootball6 is my lucky number, so he's staying obviously.

I agree. Not that it means anything either way but him changing his number would seem to point to him staying more than leaving.Fab4Runner wrote: Obviously it doesn't mean he is staying for sure. Why go through the pain of filing paper work if it wasn't a strong possibility you were staying with your current teamBR1986FB wrote:
