Link? My understanding is that the Wiz have to hold his rights foe 30 days.
He can sign with any team he wants to but the Cavs as soon as he gets bought out. Has to wait 30 days to sign with them.

I didn't think Z ever even left Avon Lake, did he?

Obviously Jamison makes them much better and the team to beat, but to insinuate that teams are going to be peeing down their collective legs even more when Z comes back, is just downright laughable.
Soooo, explain to me how I insinuated that...
    This is how...
People are just literally in a panic about how good the Cavs will be when he comes back.
Really, you didn't insinuate anything. You just flat out said it. FWIW, the Knicks added a former scoring champ and a dude averaging the same # of PPG as Z this year. Along with the NBA leader in 3PM? In Mike D'Antoni's system? No way. The league better be literally in a panic.

The wizards beat writer says he flew in and met with team officials and was told he could go back to his home.

It doesn't matter how much other teams offer Z, he will sign with Cleveland in 30 days. The league can't do shit about it. They didn't do it to Joe Smith last year or Gary Payton two years ago why start now? Until the CBA is changed they have no power in this. Danny Ferry played by the rules, sorry LA, Boston, and Orlando fans.

I was going to say how, but cview already took care of it

I said nothing about teams. I don't think the players give a damn.

I'm talking about front office types. They don't want a Cleveland dynasty--getting Z backs puts them one step closer to starting one. They'd rather LeBron take off for another city, because then he may not be a serious title contender for another few years. Back to the building up stage. Even a team with LeBron and Bosh (which is unlikely no matter what ESPN tells you) isn't necessarily going to be any better than some other teams (like the current Laker roster). It's not like LeBron doesn't play with some pretty good scorers already. Getting Z back is huge for this team, he really completes the roster. When they get him back, there are going to be a lot of eyes on the Cavs--and most of them wanting them to fail because they know what's coming if they don't.

It will take old man Z 2 Months to get in game shape after not playing a real game since Feb 11th.
The earliest he would come back is April 1st. The other teams aren't complaining because they are scared of the Cavs getting Z its the scenario that happened with Stackhouse.

You're right. Other teams aren't complaining, there are just multiple articles at the national level about GMs and coaches complaining(namely some Rivers and Jackson guys) about how the buyout thing needs be changed citing Z's situation.

Its freaking Z...people are making way to big of a deal about an average aging center
  • SQ_Crazies
If you can't see what he provides for them then you're blind.
  • Sage
Lol. I get that he's a back up center and will help against the Magic and all that Jazz, but---lets be real here, if you can't win a title without Z, then you're not winning one with Z.

You lost 3 games in a row due to poor foul shooting, piss poor defense, and LBJ falling in love with the 3 ball down the stretch. Not because you didn't have a 48 year old Lithuanian center to play 15-20 minutes a game.
  • Hb31187
I see what he provides, pick and pop big man. But its not like hes anything special IMO.

I don't think it has too much to do with front office people being scared of what the Cavs can become. It's just something they want changed when a new agreement is made. Sort of how some people want to crack down on a team being able to go way over the cap. It's a loophole in a sense; a loophole that most people would use if the sources were available to them. Hyprocrites? Sure, but whatever helps you win right? Jamison is a fine player, and all front office people know that. They also know that there are only so many minutes that can go around. Maybe a lot of good will come from this, but maybe some bad. Cleveland already had the best record, but now somebody or a couple people from that group will be getting less minutes. Maybe the pieces just won't fit together as well. Or maybe they never were going to fit together in the first place. My opinion is this-- I don't think the front office people of championship caliber teams are scared. Cleveland hasn't given them a reason to be scared yet. That could change if they win a championship this year. Although I think a dynasty is a long way away (obviously). Z and Shaq may not have the legs to help create a dynasty; and Cleveland is using up a lot of salary cap space. But we'll get there, all in due time.

I would say they lost because of poor guard play before I would blame LBJ but you know better watching ESPN highlights I'm sure.
  • Hb31187
He didnt say LBJ has been playing bad...but hes been falling in love with long jumpers at the end of games instead of attacking the basket...which is accurate
  • Sage
I don't watch the hilights, I actually watch the game. Did you see LeBron down the stretch of the Nuggets game? When was he at his best? Oh, yes, attacking the basket--because nobody in the league can stop him from doing that.

Did you see LeBron during the 4th quarter of the Magic game?

    Please.

You're confusing Sage with Strapping Young Lad, who thinks LBJ played pretty shitty.

    Fixed it.

Yeah, Footwedge, we get it.. You're butt hurt they traded Z...

In fact, you're so butt hurt, you're on record as saying you kind of hope they lose in the 1st round, just so it back fires on them..

Z is coming back, we got the best 4 we've had since Boozer was here and this team is now truly loaded...

Guess who got us back in the Orlando game in the second half? Antawn. He got comfortable and went crazy in that half. Sadly, our guards went 4/24 from the field.. That's where the problem lies.

the NBA wouldn't change the rules mid season? If so it total bs
  • hangonsloopy
Brian Windhorst said today that coaches can whine all they want but Z will be back in Cleveland. He said that rumors are going to be crazy the next few weeks, but when it comes down to it, they followed the rules. Even if it is a loophole. I don't have the link, but it was on Rizzo's show this morning.
  • hoops23
Yeah, no rules were broken. Even so, the NBA doesn't want to piss off the Lithuanian Mob.
  • wildcats20
It comes down to if the NBA can prove there was some sort of deal before the trade was made. Which they can't really prove because who, from either side is going to say there was a deal???
