Exactly my point. And the Magic still had to fight to beat em. This is not a big problem."I think Antawn is really going to benefit us, we are just going through a little transition period right now trying to figure out lineups and figuring out certain sets," James said. -

Quite possibly if you read what I took the time to type in you wouldn't be such a moron and you'd realize that LeBron is the best clutch time player in the league.Strapping Young Lad wrote: Characteristic of Lebron (at least the few games I watch). Hits 1 three, mediocre from the line, turnovers...... -
SQ_CraziesThe man who leads the league in 4th quarter scoring is clearly disappearing in crunch time...

What people are saying is that LeBron has a chance to be the greatest of all time if things keep progressing like they have been.
No one has ever said that at this point in time Lebron is better than MJ, only that he has a chance to be equal too or greater than him, down the line.
My point is stats aren't everything. You certainly wouldn't say Lebron is better than MJ jeven though you could, if you only looked at stats.
Like I say, dismal day from behind the arch, mediocre at the line, 5 turnovers....Sure he puts up great stats (if you don't read all of them), but how many points did he have in the fourth when the game was on the line. My saying he sucked was harsh (however I didn't watch the entire game, so I missed alot of what he did).
I'll take that much back, he didn't suck. I just didn't think he was great. He was good until it was showtime. Then Vince Carter and Nelson looked like the GOAT's.... -
SQ_CraziesBut I get it, he's so incredibly consistent that whenever he is off, it's the only time anyone can call him out--so they come out of the woodwork all over the place.
-
SQ_Crazies
No. The problem is you're just making general blanket statements about him based on one game. When the stats say otherwise--in a big way. No player in the history of the league has played a career and finished shooting 100% from the field.Strapping Young Lad wrote:HighRoller74 wrote:

You qualified the first post you made at the end of the game with the statement "that I don't usually watch the NBA" but here you are still continuing to run your mouth about a sport that you don't watch...
Guess what....It's an internet msg. board. I'll make all the comments I want and run my mouth all I want.
I may not watch alot of NBA, but it's not rocket-science. If he shoots like crap from 3, is par at the line, and turns the ball over, I can see that much. If Lebron disappears in the fourth when players from the winning team are stepping up, I'll comment on that too....and I'll be correct.
Get over it.
It seems to me that a lot of what goes on in the NBA toay is isolation. 8 guys stand there and watch 2 guys go at it. If that's the case then I would imagine that Lebron will shoot a higher % than he would've in the 80's and 90's because he can get to the rim easier (I realize that you still have to beat the defender, but still).
When I watch the few games that I do I see that overall defense is not what it was in the 80's-90's. I think maybe players neglect defense because they concentrate so much on their offensive game. I saw so much crappy D-fense today. I think that's something you have to take into account, before you get carried away with how much more difficult and competitive it is today.
Sure guys are bigger and stronger, but they lack a lot of things nowadays too, such as the defense...... -
Strapping Young LadSQ, Dude I'm talking about THIS game. THIS is the game I watched. THIS is the game we're talking about.....
I realize Lebron is a great player. He disappeared today when I expected him to light it up. I saw other guys come alive when it was crunch time. Their team won.
What the hell do you want me to say???? Okay, I get it. He leads the league in 4 Qt scoring. Not today vs. Orlando, which I believe was the topic of this thread. So, tough shit. Get over it.... -

You keep talking about this game, but then you make blanket statements like this is the guy you compare to MJ, and so on. Like one game will make or break someones career.Strapping Young Lad wrote: SQ, Dude I'm talking about THIS game. THIS is the game I watched. THIS is the game we're talking about.....

If you want to talk about one game that's fine, stick with that, but don't make your opinion on one guys career after watching just one game.
Hell, I don't watch Hockey at all, but what if I watched a game where Ovechkin or Crosby didn't play very good, bunch of bad passes, missed shots, etc. And I came out here saying these two suck, so on and so forth, you'd be ripping me apart, and rightfully so.
Bottom line, it's cool to discuss and sure you can be critical of Lebron disappearing today in the 4th quarter, but I certainly wouldn't paint with such a large brush like you've been doing. -
SQ_CraziesNo, that's fine. But reread the way you said things. You just made blanket statements about his game, period. Not my fault you can't express what you're talking about--or you just get called out and backed into a corner...either way, not my fault.
-
Strapping Young LadLighten up Francis. I just like to see you Lebron nut huggers get your panties in a bunch.....And it's so easy to do, so blame yourselves for the reason ppl. love to come here and bash him. If you would just ignore it ppl. wouldn't do it.
That said, I do believe that comparing Lebron to MJ is ridiculous. Lebron is no Michael Jordan and I don't care how bad you want him to be or how bad he wants to be, or how much the NBA wants ppl to believe it. He's just not.....
Maybe he will be when it's all said and done. But I wouldn't bet on it. -
3reppomYou can make all the comments you want, I don't really care. But when you make stupid statements I will point them out. My point is that you don't know shit about basketball and have no frame of reference for observation because you don't watch the sport.
-
Strapping Young LadLike i said, I can watch a game and see who steps up and wins and who doesn't. The only frame of reference I need for that that is the other guys on the court.
And you're right. I can make all the comments I want. -
SQ_CraziesOh, you're so badass.
-
Strapping Young LadYeah cuz that's what it's about. I want my anonymous internet persona to be known as badass. What the hell sense do you make??? None.....
you get so pissed that Lebron had a so/so game, went into a shell late, and the Cavs lost. It's onlty one game . Why are you so upset???? -
SQ_CraziesHow have you come to the conclusion that I'm pissed?
Quite the opposite actually, the game today had zero effect on my mood. -

LeBron's so/so game (33pts, 9reb, 6asst) is a game that 99.9% of the NBA would kill to have. And you consider it to be so/so. Yes LeBron didn't do much in the 4th quarter, but you basically admitted yourself, that he put up numbers in 3 quarters that no one else in the NBA can come close to in 4. -
wes_mantoothWell this thread has certainly made me chuckle a few times...
-
Strapping Young LadIt makes me smile that the only thing you have is to repaeatedly revisit the stats that you think tell the entire story...
1-6 from 3, so/so from the line, 5 turnovers, and I asked earlier but no one answered, how many points in the fourth???? -

Aren't those also Stats?Strapping Young Lad wrote: It makes me smile that the only thing you have is to repaeatedly revisit the stats that you think tell the entire story...

And he only scored 3 points in the 4th quarter.
And so is the amount of points scored in the 4th.
Face facts the only thing you have to go by in sports is stats, unless you go by how good of a teammate you are, or number of arrests. -
Strapping Young LadYou focus on THE stats that make him look good while ignoring the bad stats, i.e. turnovers, 3pt%, 4th qt. points....

Midstate01And your gay off refuses to notice the positive ones. Dildo!
-
Strapping Young LadTherefore he had a so/so game.....bitchass. WTF you want me to say??? He had a great game til the fourth???
Well, guess what dildo. The 4th qt is pretty fuckin' important esp. in this game and since the King decided to only play three quarters I'll call it a so/so game. If you don't like it guess what else. Suck these balls.....
Put that in your gay off.... -

That or learn how to discuss topics like an adult, instead of some teenager being allowed to swear since mommy and daddy aren't around.
How hard is it to say. "LeBron played a great game, he just came up short in the 4th when his team needed him"
I guarantee you, that statement doesn't have people on here questioning you, because that's exactly what happened. LeBron played great, no matter how you want to try and spin it, however he came up short in thge 4th quarter.
