On the stat sheet what are we comparing?Footwedge wrote:
Look up the stat sheet and compare Powe with Jamison. It's that simple. Whjen Powe was on the court, good things happen. And I think "major minutes" has to do with major minutes off the bench. If your bemch blows, then your chances of winning goews wayyy down.sportswizuhrd wrote:
Powe averaged 14 minutes a game in the regular season and 11 in the playoffs. Hardly major minutes. He had the 9th most minutes on the team. Posey isnt exactly setting the world on fire in New Orleans.Footwedge wrote:
My hope is that both Ferry and Brown come to terms with the realities of this guy Jamison. Leon Powe is a true winner, and should get major minutes.pkebker wrote: Cavs fans shouldn't expect Jamison to average 20 pts a game here. He was the #1 option in Washington, here he probably is the third option. He'll average around 15 pts a game and will be a great upgrade offensively over our other 4's, because the only offense Varejao and Hickson have is open dunks.
Pretty much the only difference between the Celtics championship team of 2 years ago and the one today...they had Posey and Powe logging in major minutes.
Admittedly, Ray Allen, Pierce and KG are 2 years older, they would be at the same level as the elites...if they still had Posey and Powe.
Now, Ferry goes on a guilt trip in not signing Shaq last year, and pulls a major rock in making this trade.
I want a chamionshionship as bad as any Clevelander does, if not worse. But part of me says..."I hope we get bumped in the first round" after this shit trade.
What makes Power a true winner? Because he has a ring as a second stringer on the Celtics? Does that mean Carmelo, Howard, LeBron, Paul, Roy and Durant are all losers?
I am not trying to bash the kid or you for your opinion but I fail to see how he would be leaps and bounds better than Jamison. He is coming off major surgery as well and who knows if he will be as good as he was. We cant make that assumption until he plays.

I have no idea where you pull these stats from. "True shooting percentage???. What the hell is that? Laughing out loud now.sportswizuhrd wrote:

As I said, the easy way to compare and cotrast is ESPN.com. Try it. -
hoops23lol.. ESPN.com?
No. 82games.com True stats live there. -

So the stats on EsPN.com are false? Hilarious. ESPN stats are defaulted directly from NBA. com.LTrain23 wrote: lol.. ESPN.com?

Your hole is getting deeper by the moment, Traino. -
hoops23Wow. Clearly I need to spell things out for you.. ESPN and even NBA.com only report the standard stats. Such as PPG/FG%/RPG/etc..
82games.com dives even deeper.. It splits up FG% based on range of jumper. It breaks up PPG based on spots on the floor.. It's just statistically deeper than any of those sites.
Good day. -
sportswizuhrdGot those stats from basketball-reference.com. It's pretty much an encyclopedia of Pro basketball. If I was on a computer, I would link it. True shooting % factors in all shooting and it's one big %.
-
dat dudeTo footwedge's credit, he will admit when he is wrong. At least he did last year after bitching about the Indians signing DeRosa for two months only to be proven wrong in the long run. I expect the same come June.

Ahah...so that is where I cut and pasted that Jamison blows from 12. 16. and 19 feet. Found the stats linked on a different sports blog site...comparing Janmison's bricks versus Amare's hot shooting. Thanks for sharing.LTrain23 wrote: Wow. Clearly I need to spell things out for you.. ESPN and even NBA.com only report the standard stats. Such as PPG/FG%/RPG/etc..
