Tracy McGrady to the Knicks?
-
mallymal614I just heard this on SportsCenter. What does this do to free agents like Lebron and Dwyane with a chance to play along side with another superstar?
-
devil1197LMAO HAHA.
First, there is already a rumor and trade NBA thread discussing this possibility.
Secondly, McGrady would actually have to play basketball. The guy is a has been. If he was truly superstar material then teams like Cleveland or Boston would be making a move for him and taking on his salary. If he was a superstar he would actually be playing major minutes for a Rockets team that is competing for the playoffs. There is a reason only shitty teams looking for salary relief are taking him on. -

My fault. Didn't know there was already a thread on this.devil1197 wrote: LMAO HAHA.

devil1197Its ok, and the laughing was more at McGrady still being called a superstar.
-
mallymal614Yeah he has a lot to prove. It's been a looong time since he made an impact on the court.
-
End of LineMcGrady=Has been
-
hoops23lol another superstar... roflmao...
-
UA5straightin2008t-mac..ha...i remember when his shoes were cool.....
-
jordo212000Well obviously the Knicks could probably care less what McGrady does on the basketball court. This trade is more about getting some more cap space. The Knicks aren't going anywhere anyways.
-
mallymal614Collin Cowhard said on his radio show how this is pretty much a move by the knicks to land one of the free agent stars this summer. Let's see if McGrady can still play first.
-
jordo212000
WHO CARES if he can play. The Knicks probably don't care whether he ever steps on the court. It is all about his huge contract the comes off the books. So they can make another overture to a star.mallymal614 wrote: Collin Cowhard said on his radio show how this is pretty much a move by the knicks to land one of the free agent stars this summer. Look, I'm not saying the deal will happen, just that some of you guys are missing the boat for the main reason this trade would/will happen. -
wes_mantoothYeah, I don't think that McGrady is going to help lure in another superstar. He has underachieved his whole career.
-
wildcats20If T Mac can lure a superstar to NY, something else is going on behind the scenes that no one knows about. T Mac hasn't been the T Mac we all got accustomed to in probably 3 years. If someone like Bron or D Wade or anyone heads to NY, it's not because of T Mac.
-
jordo212000
Doubtful that the Knicks would resign him, and if they do resign him, it will be for peanuts.wes_mantooth wrote: Yeah, I don't think that McGrady is going to help lure in another superstar. He has underachieved his whole career. -
wes_mantooth^^^true.
I don't see the appeal of Tmac. He can't stay healthy and he is not a proven winner.....but someone will probably overpay him. -
mallymal614So the trade would give free up enough money for the Knicks to sign both Lebron and Wade?
-
devil1197
I don't think so but it looks like the trade isn't going to happen anyways lol.mallymal614 wrote: So the trade would give free up enough money for the Knicks to sign both Lebron and Wade? -

I'm no cap expert, but I doubt it gives them that much space. But it will give them alot more than what they currently have. The Knicks are always one of those teams that come up in the Lebron sweepstakes, but of all the teams who have been loading up for the sweepstakes, the Knicks may be in one of the worst situations (compared to others). I think the Nets can essentially blow up their entire team.mallymal614 wrote: So the trade would give free up enough money for the Knicks to sign both Lebron and Wade? -

I'm not so sure about that one. Tmac has been on the table for a while and nobody has come calling. He could be a guy you bring in off the bench, but I think at this point, he can't/couldn't start for a contenderwes_mantooth wrote: ^^^true.

wildcats20Just came across ESPN, but apparently Beasley is on the trading block as well.
-
wes_mantooth
Yeah, I have heard that everyone other than Dwade is available from Miami.wildcats20 wrote: Just came across ESPN, but apparently Beasley is on the trading block as well. -

I can see the Heat moving Beasley. Aside from Wade (and we know they aren't trading Wade) Beasley is their only REAL chip. I could see them pairing Beasley with another mid-tier contract and making a run at an older PF or SF. This is just me thinking out loud, but you have to think Wade would welcome Antwan Jamisonwildcats20 wrote: Just came across ESPN, but apparently Beasley is on the trading block as well. -
wildcats20They were kind of saying it was in speculation with Amare
-
mallymal614
Good! As Charles Barkley said, Dwyane Wade is Michael Jackson with The Heat playing with a bunch of Titos'wes_mantooth wrote:
