Congrats to the Colts for moving on and the Jets for getting as far as they did.

I don't think anyone got Peyton to the Super Bowl but Peyton and his team mates. He is simply an amazing quarterback who seems to always be in control. there were some things that happened during the game that may well have had an influence on the game, but there is no way of knowing that for sure and anyway, that's football. The Jets had a nice season and return a very good ball club next year. But right now, it's this year and Peyton and gang are off to the Super Bowl.

The NFL got what they wanted Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl. Is it that hard to really understand?

I mean I don't think there is a conspiracy theory behind this, but I do think the NFL realizes that a Favre vs Manning Super Bowl would be a mega cash cow.

Yeah, damn that NFL for wanting to have the best matchup in their business' biggest day of the year!

Non, Greene getting hurt was a huge factor no doubt.

I still am pissed that Jeraud Powers was injured and Lacey had to start. I dont think he would have bitten as hard on the Braylon TD pass as Lacey did. Hopefully Powers is healthy for the SB.

Colts would've won either way. I want to stress that point.

I just was responding to the post by wgh that it was not a good game.

It was in the first half and I think it could've been in the second half had Greene played.

It had a snowball effect because the Jets wanted to run more effectively in the second half and keep Manning off the field.

Instead the offense struggled, Manning kept getting it back and staying in a groove.

Even if the Jets had Greene and he ran effectively, for decent yards 80-100 and the Jets took more time of possession and scored a little more, Manning would have just scored quickly and made up the difference as he's done before but from a viewing standpoint the game probably wouldn't have been settled until the final minutes instead of very early in the fourth.

Normally they refuse to do injections for anything in the chest because it's too close to vital organs. Or if the pain was too intense, they might do one and then take his pads and helmet away, but no sane team doctor would inject into the chest and then let him play.

Yeah, the NFL is so starved for Super Bowl ratings and revenue that they would actually give a crap about who ends up there.

This is what happens when you have one of the all-time greats under center. A suffocating Jets defense that could do no wrong for 28 minutes is hammered over the ensuing 32 minutes no matter what they did and no matter how much pressure was applied.

It's also what separates Manning from Brady. The Jets' defense looked awfully similar to the Giants' in the Super Bowl a couple years back...one stepped up and led his team back from an 11-point deficit, the other wilted.
