Browns @ Lions

I am this way, too. Rooting for him. He’s a brown, so obviously hoping he pans out.BR1986FB;1881514 wrote:In my eyes, Kizer is going to have to have a complete reversal of his play (limit taking dumb sacks/making stupid audibles, better accuracy, etc) over these last 8 games for me to say "yeah, I think we can move forward with this guy." He took a decent step yesterday but I thought that after the first Pittsburgh game. He could revert back to his former craptastic self. I'm rooting for him because I'd prefer to use those two high picks on skill players over a QB. I'd bet against him continuing to improve though.
But there’s been very few things that I am confident about with him. He’s a rookie so I was expecting mehh play, but was not expecting terrible.
And if you are someone who watches the browns, and you think kizer is just playing poorly because of the talent and coaching around him, well you’re just a biased moron. -

The lack of a running game has done him no favors BUT, when he's had opportunities to shine, he's failed miserably, for the most part.SportsAndLady;1881515 wrote: And if you are someone who watches the browns, and you think kizer is just playing poorly because of the talent and coaching around him, well you’re just a biased moron.
All I need to do is go back to my previous comments about when the Browns have previously gotten into the red zone where my thought process isn't "how are the Browns going to score" as much as "how is Kizer going to eff this up and turn it over?" H
He has a ton to prove to say "let's move forward with him." Yesterday was a positive step. -

Yeah, I had friends yesterday talking themselves into maybe Kizer will show improvement and we don't need to draft a QB. Everyone needs to pump the brakes on that shit. The Browns came off a bye. Let's see what he does the following weeks without an extra week of preparation.SportsAndLady;1881515 wrote:I am this way, too. Rooting for him. He’s a brown, so obviously hoping he pans out.

This sounds like Ironman02 lolSportsAndLady;1881511 wrote:For fucks sake, it was one good game. Not a great game. get the fuck out of here “Toledo Blade” aka kizers biggest fan lol.
Kizer played well, I said it yesterday in this thread. But are we really going to take one good game and say maybe we can move on with him as QB?
I am genuinely rooting for kizer to be the QB of our future. But if you can honestly sit there and tell me after his historically bad season (like, ranked dead fucking last in many statistical categories) that you are okay moving on with him as our QB of the future, you should check yourself into a mental hospital. -
MulvaNext week will be a good progress test. Jags D might be the best in the league.

Agreed, our WRs will be getting open next week. I would love for Hue to scheme some TEs open. For as much talk as there is about Kizer, no one mentioned Njoku's horrible game. He dropped 2 passes that should have been caught and gave up the sack that knocked Kizer out of the game for 2.5 series.Mulva;1881521 wrote:Next week will be a good progress test. SportsAndLadyYeah he had a bad penalty, too, if I remember correctly. That was a game to forget for Njoku.

Yep holding on a big 3rd down pick up. IT was Britt's second catch that was negated. He was going against their best pass rusher, but still. Can't do that.SportsAndLady;1881524 wrote:Yeah he had a bad penalty, too, if I remember correctly. That was a game to forget for Njoku. -

Lol. Yeah, kinda does. I let everyone else get upset about the Browns for me now, though. I'm numb to it.Ironman92;1881518 wrote:This sounds like Ironman02 lol -
Commander of AwesomeInteresting stat:
Brian Spoon‏ @BrianSpoon
#Browns RB Isaiah Crowell vs DET, by run concept: Man/Power concepts: 7.6 YPC, 11 attempts Zone concepts: 1.2 YPC, 5 attempts
So Hue Fucking Jackson, I'd like to know why you continue to run Zone Concepts with a player that doesn't excel in zone concepts you dipshit? Football doesn't have to be this hard. -

Especially since we have Duke Johnson who flourishes in those types of plays. SmhCommander of Awesome;1881528 wrote:Interesting stat:

It's so stupid, it's hard to comprehend that a person who's been involved in football their entire life is so goddamn dense and stubborn. It's like he's allergic to common sense due to his ego.SportsAndLady;1881530 wrote:Especially since we have Duke Johnson who flourishes in those types of plays. Smh -

It feels like coaches do well outside of Cleveland so we hire them to be our coach, and then as soon as they get here they lose any common sense they once had.Commander of Awesome;1881531 wrote:It's so stupid, it's hard to comprehend that a person who's been involved in football their entire life is so goddamn dense and stubborn. Not sure why, but I'm going to through our Coach tree:SportsAndLady;1881533 wrote:It feels like coaches do well outside of Cleveland so we hire them to be our coach, and then as soon as they get here they lose any common sense they once had.
Jim O'Niel - total knob who had no business being a water boy in the NFL, let alone a DC
Pat Schurmur - his best effort as an OC was 27th before being hired as HC. He's not a TEs coach in Minn. Just LOL
Mike Petty Pettine - Coached the Jets as the DC when they had the best defense for one yr. Then DC in buffalo where they were a disaster. What. A. Joke.
Chud - Was an OC when the Browns last had a winning record, in 2007 with DA under center. That team was fun, but also extremely lucky. Very avg in Carolina before being hired as OC.
Eric Mangini - Patriots guy, fired by the Jets. EL OH EL
Brian Daboll - Was a def ast in NE, then hired to be OC in cleveland. Why? Good question. Under his tutelage we had the 32nd rank Offense and the 29th. Fuck him.
Shanny - One season as browns OC. Had an ok stat to the seaosn where the browns offense was avg. Then Alex Mack went down and he shit the fucking bed. Continued to call toss sweeps and zone stretches despite evidence that they don't work. What a fucking asshat. Since then he's been the coach of the ATL where he coached them to a SB loss, LMFAO. Then gets hired to be HC of the 49ers who are currently worse than us on offense. Traded for a stud QB and doesn't play him. Just lol at this guy getting chances.
Ray Horton - Never coached a top 10 defense, fired by Titans/Cards/Browns and is currently out of football.
JFC we are soo bad at hiring. -

That's why after that QB sneak happened before the half I'm thinking "you're 50+ years old, coaching all your life, and you run a damn QB sneak from the 3 yard line with 15 seconds left in the half? You can't be THIS dumb." And I initially blamed him for it but thank god it was Kizer's stupidity.Commander of Awesome;1881531 wrote:It's so stupid, it's hard to comprehend that a person who's been involved in football their entire life is so goddamn dense and stubborn. I also question WTF was Kizer doing? Why didn't 1. He know not to do that. 2. Someone on offense say numbnuts, NO. not only no, but fuck you.BR1986FB;1881540 wrote:That's why after that QB sneak happened before the half I'm thinking "you're 50+ years old, coaching all your life, and you run a damn QB sneak from the 3 yard line with 15 seconds left in the half? kizer permanenteDon't give him too much credit.. according to Bitonio, he still called a QB Draw. That's almost as asinine in that situation.

BR1986FB
Running the ball (period) in that situation is pretty asinine. If you make it, you look like a genius but if you don't, yesterday happens. As soon as they lined up in that formation I'm like "WTF?" and then he sneaks it and I knew they were screwed. Defenders just going to take their old time getting up, get a little tangled in Kizer's legs, etc.kizer permanente;1881543 wrote:Don't give him too much credit.. according to Bitonio, he still called a QB Draw. Devalve said that Kizer changed the original play call. Hue actually had Kizer's back and took the blame for it. -
BR1986FB
All I can think is a) he was playing "hero guy" and wanted to punch it in himself (highly doubtful) or b) he froze/panicked in that situation, which is much more likely.Commander of Awesome;1881541 wrote:I also question WTF was Kizer doing? SportsAndLadyEither way it was a clusterfuck of a situation and a perfect microcosm for the state of Cleveland Browns football.
