Browns @ Lions

If they can continue to run the ball like they did today, they are going to pull a win or two out somewhere.

Cody Kessler is pure trash. I scared the Hell out of my dog yelling at the TV when he ate it on those sacks.

Running game looked very good. Kizer looked pretty solid too. Drango is doing a very good job at LT. They aren't missing a beat with JT being out.
Lol’d about the dog. My dog gets it as well

Team says Kizer audibled to the sneak. That wasn’t the call.
  • kizer permanente
Although the original call was a draw so not much better with no timeouts lol

That’s just insane. What the hell is wrong with him?

That might be his dumbest decision yet and he's made a lot lol

I’m just waiting for vball to tell us how that wasn’t kizer’s fault!

    When is Coleman coming back?

Thought he was supposed to play today. Didn't hear that he'd play but heard he was back practicing so I assumed he was ready.

If they can get him and Gordon up to speed, and Coates can make a few plays, along with Higgins, they might not be too bad at that position for the rest of the year. If Gordon is even a shell of his former self, he should get Coleman more open looks.

By no means do I think Kizer is "the guy" but I'd be intrigued to see him with Coleman/Gordon and a few of these other guys. Hell, even that paycheck thief (Britt) looked like a football player for a couple of plays today.

Just an old guy suggestion.............how about roll out, look for a run in, look for a receiver.....and if nothing there, dump the pass?

(and I'm talking about at the end of the half, btw)

They had time for 2 plays there. At worst, take the FG. Kizer screwed the pooch on that one.

On a side note, I'm calling their first win of the year this week against JAX.

How do Browns rank against run?

Fournette is good and they can run the ball but went away from it today. Their defense is tight.

They have a lot to play for and just had a bad week but won....if Browns can stop run, avoid turnovers it could be a tight boring ass 12-9 game. Bortles isn’t good but everyone else is.

When's Josh Gordon suppose to play?

Me too, only because I picked him up in fantasy.

He would be eligible to plays against the Chargers on 12/3.

They have been good about stopping the run, up until yesterday. One of the best in the league, in fact. Looks like if a RB can get to the edge, they can exploit the Browns run D.

After seeing what I saw yesterday and hearing what I heard this morning (Kizer also called the audible on that horrid toss sweep/fumble to Crowell), there are two things I DON'T want Kizer doing.....

    1) changing plays

    and

    2) throwing fades

    He's terrible at both.

I think they were #1 in the league (before this past game) in yards allowed. There are definitely some building blocks there, but I have a hard time truly believing they are a top rush defense in the league. They are near dead last in points allowed per game and middle of the pack in pass defense. Not to mention the offense leaves them with a short field many times, and therefore there aren't many rushing yards to give up lol. They definitely have pieces there to build on though, but I am not going to get excited over it yet. At the end of the day it's all about preventing teams from scoring, and the Browns defense is not very good at that yet.

DETROIT — DeShone Kizer looked great Sunday.
You almost wonder how he would do on a real NFL team.

If Kizer can continue to build on this, it might be worth considering to move forward with him in 2018.

My problem is, this is eerily familiar to week 1 after the Steelers loss. My thoughts after that game (and before the season when I predicted 6 wins) were "if this kid can build off this, and progress, from week to week, we might have something here." It didn't. He regressed to horrid levels to make one say "he's definitely NOT the guy."

I predicted 6 wins under the premise that the rookie QB, along with a weak(er) schedule and an improved defense would get better & better as the season went on. Until yesterday, it's been the opposite.

If Kizer can string together 8 really good games to end the year, I'd strongly consider going forward with him. That's a HUGE "if." I'm not enamored with any of these QB's in this year's crop.

I will say that if Hue had run the offense, like he did yesterday, the whole season, I doubt Kizer would've looked as bad as he did in previous games. He's not Peyton Manning. The dude needs a rushing attack to set up the pass.

For fucks sake, it was one good game. Not a great game. get the fuck out of here “Toledo Blade” aka kizers biggest fan lol.

Kizer played well, I said it yesterday in this thread. But are we really going to take one good game and say maybe we can move on with him as QB?

I am genuinely rooting for kizer to be the QB of our future. But if you can honestly sit there and tell me after his historically bad season (like, ranked dead fucking last in many statistical categories) that you are okay moving on with him as our QB of the future, you should check yourself into a mental hospital.

If you're referring to my comments, instead of those in the Toledo Blade, you obviously missed the "If Kizer can string together 8 really good games to end the year, I'd strongly consider going forward with him. That's a HUGE "if." I'm not enamored with any of these QB's in this year's crop" part.

In my eyes, Kizer is going to have to have a complete reversal of his play (limit taking dumb sacks/making stupid audibles, better accuracy, etc) over these last 8 games for me to say "yeah, I think we can move forward with this guy." He took a decent step yesterday but I thought that after the first Pittsburgh game. He could revert back to his former craptastic self. I'm rooting for him because I'd prefer to use those two high picks on skill players over a QB. I'd bet against him continuing to improve though.
