2017-18 Cavs Season Thread

This is why I really like the Cavs this year, and have since offseason moves:
    #CAVS BENCH SCORING BY YEAR

    14-15 24.2 PPG (@NBA rank 30th)

    15-16 28.1 PPG (28th)

    16-17 29.1 PPG (28th)

    This season 40.1 PPG (5th)

It's a weird feeling watching the Cavs this year, because I actually can't wait for the bench to come in the game. They've allowed, in some games, for lebron to get extra rest, because they play so well.
The Korver, wade, frye lineup is nasty!

57 more points off the bench last night. Was nice to see Lebron be able to sit at the end of the 3rd quarter and have the backups actually INCREASE the lead. Granted, the bench was pretty good in the regular season last year and disappeared in the playoffs so I'll temper my enthusiasm...but it is a positive sign.

The bench ranked 28th in scoring last year. They were not good. They had no playmakers. Only time they did anything was with LeBron still in the court.

Yeah, I was about to say. The bench didn’t do shit last year during the regular season or playoffs. Pretty obnoxious considering Kyrie would sometimes run the 2nd unit and they would get blown off the court, meanwhile this season it doesn’t seem to be a problem for him to be in the drivers seat.

Say what you want about Wade (it’s early), but he has been pretty good coming off the bench. I hope he keeps it up, because so far getting wade for pennies has been worth it. I am not sure why some of you guys were against it. Well worth the low risk. You have to give wade props for buying into coming off the bench.

22 in the first for Love tonight. Up to 30 with 4 minutes left in the half.

Love to see him pwning after a shitty night yesterday.

Lebron ejected for the first time in his career last night. I'm surprised this hasn't happened more as he complains a lot (more times rightfully, than not) as he's getting essentially raped every time he drives to the basket. K-Love was definitely in a zone last night. Wade looking like he's found the Fountain of Youth.

My favorite part about the Kanter trash talk is he's actually been out hurt the past few games. Try worrying about your own fucking health before you call out someone 100x better than you are.

I am glad it happened. We didn't have to hear about Lue playing him too many minutes and I'd prefer Lebron to make a point of him getting raped early in the season so the league is on notice before the playoffs. Maybe Iggy won't get away with stabbing Lebron in the finals for once.

As for Wade, I am not sure why anyone was against signing him for nothing. Low risk/high reward. I love the fact he has bought in being the 6th man and he bought in very early. Takes a lot for a future HOFer to do that. I think his "fountain of youth" is the fact he doesn't have to play starter minutes and he is playing against twos. I'd take wade over any team's two, and if he keeps it up he will win the 6th man award.

Is he still talking shit? Why is it people like Kanter and Noah always talk shit when they are irrelevant and haven't done shit?

The most refreshing aspect of the Wade scenario is that he (Wade) asked to be brought off the bench, realizing it was best for the team. Not many HOF/superstars are going to do that with the mega-ego's in the NBA.

    That actually is pretty funny.

His trolling isn’t on Embiid’s level but I think Kanter is entertaining.

    Agree

Kevin Love playing well last 2 games

Yeah we needed it. Granted hawks don’t have a true center but he pwned last game against a legit center.

The only center that has pwned him so far is Embiid.

Defense, I believe, has been top 5 during this streak. Lebron playing like he's on a mission....either wants another MVP or wants to "one up" Kyrie and the Celtics winning streak.

IMO, he doesn't GAF about a Celtics hot streak in November.

IMO, he's a pretty petty dude when it comes to this stuff and he likely is paying attention to it.

Lebron only GAF about getting rings. Until he shows any signs of not giving a fuck I will never buy into bogus rumors of him going to teams that are quite a few years away from contention (lakers).

The new one is the Sixers. LOL....unless the Cavs completely implode, I doubt he's leaving. Now if they were to get knocked out in an early round, and looked old AF doing so, then I might buy into him leaving.

They make a lot more sense than the Lakers, especially since they are in the East. They were one of the few teams listed that I could see Lebron going to if they show signs they can compete in the playoffs. It's still early and they are young, so we will see where they are after this season. Let's watch them in the playoffs first. I stand by my take, there are only a few teams I can see Lebron going to if he still wants to win rings. The lakers sure as hell aren't one of them. I have a hard time believing any team in the West is a candidate.
