We say this every year, and I’m starting to believe they really just apply “active rest” all year. Lebron never bitches about his minutes and this team never wants to put shitty teams away before the 4th quarter.kizer permanente;1878671 wrote:If Lebron keeps playing these types of minutes, Lue is dumber than I thought. -
SportsAndLadyYeah Lebron isn’t a “play me 25 min tonight” guy. His strategy is rest 8 full games a year, and the other games play full minutes.
If that’s what he wants, Lue is going to do that. -
kizer permanenteHe also gets older every year. 40 minutes most of the season and sitting out a couple games works for only so long.. eventually (most likely soon) its not going to be realistic to put him out there 42 minutes and ask him to do that again the next night. Is he going to sit out 25-30 games next to allow that? It's going to be an issue going forth, and most likely this season.

My point is he doesn't come close to giving his full effort during those minutes in the regular season sans a couple "big" games. The cavs win 60+ games easily, run away with the 1 seed, don't lose inexcusable games to shitty teams, and/or play close games with shitty teams if Lebron actually gave his full effort every regular season. If he gave his full effort every regular season game, I am willing to bet his minutes would have been reduced a long time ago.kizer permanente;1878682 wrote:He also gets older every year. 40 minutes most of the season and sitting out a couple games works for only so long.. eventually (most likely soon) its not going to be realistic to put him out there 42 minutes and ask him to do that again the next night. Yeah you're right. There's reg season Lebron and playoff Lebron. Reg season Lebron isnt exactly putting 42 minutes when hes in there like playoff lebron is.like_that;1878689 wrote:My point is he doesn't come close to giving his full effort during those minutes in the regular season sans a couple "big" games. ernest_t_bassPlayoff Lebron is like nothing I've ever seen.

friendfromlowryAnytime you can lose to Brooklyn while being torched by Sam Dinwiddie (who?) and Lebron playing 41 minutes, you take it.

BR1986FBI'm afraid this will be the norm during the regular season. Yeah, I know I may hear "but they've only played 5 games" and I'm sure they will eventually right their ship.
The biggest thing, to me, to watch is the fact that this is almost like an early 2000's NBA team. They are big on the midrange jumpers. The league has morphed into a 3 point league and the Cavs were one of the best in the business at doing it last year. Now, it seems like they only have two guys who can consistently shoot them (Love & Korver, with JR being streaky). Even crappy teams like Brooklyn & Orlando are going to expose this with the mindset of "if we chuck up a ton of 3's and hit 4-5 more than the Cavs, we have a punchers chance."
I chuckled at Lue's comments after the game where he said "hell, Brooklyn may want our pick by the end of the season." He was pretty disgusted. -
like_thatTypical Cavs. Using the entire regular season as their preseason. It's annoying, but none of us complain April thru June.
-
Ironman92WTH? Cavs let 4 different Pelican players make 10+ FG?
That may not happen to any other team all season -
friendfromlowryI will not be concerned about the Cavs defense until April. I will not be concerned about the Cavs defense until April. I will not be concerned about the Cavs defense until April.

Commander of AwesomeDown by 15 to the fucking NYK.

friendfromlowryTristan Thompson has been garbage this season. His rebound/block averages have fallen and he's somehow more worthless on offense.

19 minutes and as many rebounds as mefriendfromlowry;1879254 wrote:Tristan Thompson has been garbage this season. His rebound/block averages have fallen and he's somehow more worthless on offense. -
BR1986FBTheir defense sucks, they don't have a legit second scoring option and they can't match teams shooting the 3 ball. The last two of those three are where they miss KI. Have a feeling they are going to have to make a major move, at some point, if they want to compete for the ECF.

like_thatHave you all not learned your lesson from the past 3 seasons for fucks sake? The Cavs don’t need to make a move to win the East. If they are healthy there is no excuse. I don’t give a shit if they are the 8th seed, they still would have 0 excuse to not get out of the East.
If you want to talk about winning it all, they will need to make a move, but we all knew that well before the season started. For fucks sake it’s not even November, and there are already hot take overreactions (not just here). -

Hope you're right. This is the oldest team in the league and they won't be getting any younger by the playoffs. I don't see D-Wade finding the Fountain of Youth or D-Rose suddenly becoming the picture of health. Also don't think they can count on Love to suddenly become an offensive juggernaut. IT could come back healthy, and add to the offensive production, but I'm not banking on it.like_that;1879316 wrote:Have you all not learned your lesson from the past 3 seasons for fucks sake? This team is bleh right now -

I get that it's November and this team has earned the benefit of the doubt that they can turn it on when needed. But this is different than years past. This isn't February and they're in first and can lose a bunch of games and not drop out of the top of the standings. They keep dropping games like this and they're going to lose the luxury of coasting through the middle of the season.Ironman92;1879904 wrote:Def liked the addition of Green
