I'm not in the same camp as BR that Kizer can't correct some of his accuracy issues, but I feel we should have seen some progression by now. I completely agree Hue doesn't put him in good situations, but a lot of his issues are on him. He's waaaay too late on throws. He's missing guys completely. And a lot of his completions his receivers have to go to their knees to get it. He needs to throw guys open, not wait til they get open. He needs to put it on them. He hasn't improved in this thru 5 games. Again, I haven't given up on him yet, but he's given me pause to think he might not have it in him. And if he indeed doesn't, you gotta look for another qb.vball10set;1875922 wrote:Hue Jackson is in over his head, and anyone who thinks drafting another fucking QB is the answer is out of theirs. -
MulvaHe shouldn't have been starting to begin with. He clearly wasn't even close to being NFL ready.

SportsAndLady3 TDs for Watson tonight. Yeah, we definitely don’t need a QB!
Jesus Christ -
SportsAndLadyMake that 5 TD’s AGAIN for Watson tonight. I wasn’t a huge Watson fan coming into this draft but it’s obvious we drafted the wrong QB. Once again, we decided to go with other positions and ignore our blatant hole at QB. And we have Toledo homers continue to defend our current position LOL
-
SportsAndLadyOh and by the way, Carson Wentz looks like the real deal. And for all of those browns fans that like to say “kizer doesn’t have a WR core!!” Wentz is throwing to Nelson agholar and Torrey Smith. Not a great group to throw to. He had 3 TDs in the first quarter and has been a top QB all year. We passed on him so that we could draft ...?!?!

Well I disagree with this. On most teams, yeah, but our QB's are so bad going with Kizer wasn't losing you anything. Hogan is a fraction better b/c he gets the ball out. His arm is still garbage and he make terrible throws too. They were right to start Kizer and see what he does. He's not going to learn anything watching Hogan play QB.Mulva;1876022 wrote:He shouldn't have been starting to begin with. He clearly wasn't even close to being NFL ready. -

It looks like I was right on Wentz (was the guy I wanted but didn't boo hoo about them passing on him) and wrong on Watson. This front office has no clue how to draft a QB and the coach apparently has no clue how to coach them up. I have no confidence that either of those QB's would have the same level of success with Hue Jackson coaching them. He's probably have Wentz running a read option 90% of the time than being a pocket passer.SportsAndLady;1876060 wrote:Oh and by the way, Carson Wentz looks like the real deal. GOONx19Hopefully S&L will post about Watson and Wentz again next week in case anyone forgets we didn’t draft them.

I will give Watson props, definitely has looked a lot better than I thought especially these last two games. Does it mean I am sold? No. I have seen a lot of people go thru QB hysteria for a rookie QB (see RG3, Dalton, Kaep) only for it to turn into a pile of shit. If he lights it up after the NFL has a good amount of film on him, then I will say we fucked up by not drafting him.
As for Wentz, yesterday was the first day I was unable to watch the Eagles, so I can't speak for that game. I normally go to the bar and see all the games, and especially keep an eye on Wentz, because I know the "LOL BROEWNS" jokes will come in if he does well. The Eagles do a good job of making sure Wentz doesn't have to carry the load to win games. Their defense is legit and their running game opens up a lot for Wentz. He reminds me of Dalton at this stage in his career, but it's early and I can see him turning it up for the rest of his career. My meter is is in the middle between "regret drafting him/not regret." It will be extremely regrettable if Garret, Peppers, and the extra pick next year turn out to be pieces of shit.
Anyway, with that being said no worries, I have high confidence the Browns are picking #1 or #2 this draft. If they don't pick a QB somebody keep an eye on S&L, because I would be legitimately worried lol. -
SportsAndLadyLol if they have the first pick and we don’t pick a QB I will legit consider never watching a browns game again and just strictly becoming an nfl fantasy fan and not a fan of any particular team.
If I’m being annoying about QBs we passed up lighting up the NFL, I’ll stop doing it lol. I just can’t understand how we continue to pass up on highly ranked QBs when that position is such a high position of need in this league and we’ve had hot garbage at that position for fucking decades.
And then when we pass up, half the damn fanbase says we made the “right move” because we improved our team in other positions. Now you see how bullshit that philosophy is. You can’t improve your team (from a W/L POV) until you get a damn QB. -
kizer permanenteNot that this is the appropriate thread, but are there any qb's coming out worth the top pick? I usually don't start paying attention to them until the end of the year. I know Darnold got a lot of hype. I've only seen him against Cal and he didn't look great. Mason Rudolph has shown flashes. Browning, Rosen...?

I watched two Darnold games this year and I was not that impressed. He’s still very inexperienced at the collegiate level so I’ll give him a pass. From everything you read about him, he has all the physical and mental tools to be a very good NFL QB.kizer permanente;1876097 wrote:Not that this is the appropriate thread, but are there any qb's coming out worth the top pick? Same with me on Darnold. Got a lot of preseason hype but I haven't been impressed enough to say "the Browns gotta get that guy."SportsAndLady;1876102 wrote:I watched two Darnold games this year and I was not that impressed. Here’s a pretty good rundown of the QBs next year. There’s basically four “top” prospects and then guys that should be there in the 2-4th rounds for the browns to take and whiff on (just kidding..)
Darnold
Rosen
Lamar Jackson (no thanks)
Josh Allen out of Wyoming. -

lol don't get me wrong, I will be there right with you if they don't pick a QB. I think it's a safe bet we will see them picking a QB. You definitely need a QB to change a franchise, but it also doesn't hurt to pick up talent everywhere else too. If Garret, Peppers, future first/second round picks next year turn out to be good picks along with drafting a QB we all will have a different tune.SportsAndLady;1876092 wrote:Lol if they have the first pick and we don’t pick a QB I will legit consider never watching a browns game again and just strictly becoming an nfl fantasy fan and not a fan of any particular team.

Darnold is the classic hype up a QB for the draft, but then over scrutinize him his entire year before he declares for the draft. I think he has the tools to be a great QB. I think Rosen is pretty legit too. I might lean toward Rosen over Darnold at this stage in the game. Let's be real here, the Browns will get it wrong regardless. They will probably end up picking Baker Mayfield.BR1986FB;1876106 wrote:Same with me on Darnold. If Brady keeps playing at this level, have heard possible "rumblings" of NE moving Garopollo, which could be another option.SportsAndLady;1876109 wrote:http://walterfootball.com/draft2018QB.php

One thing, that could be nice, is that if this front office/coaching staff is on the "out's", and the Peyton Manning stuff is true, couldn't find a much better guy to give some tutelage to a young QB. -
like_thatI am not that high on Hue anymore, but I really don't think the Browns should reboot with another coaching staff and FO after 2 years. At least the FO. You have to commit at some point and give these guys time.

Yesterday, the defense (those guys) played well enough to win the game. It was the offense, and specifically the rookie QB, that lost it.like_that;1876111 wrote:lol don't get me wrong, I will be there right with you if they don't pick a QB. I haven't had a huge issue with the FO, except the fact they don't value WR's.like_that;1876115 wrote:I am not that high on Hue anymore, but I really don't think the Browns should reboot with another coaching staff and FO after 2 years. kizer permanenteLamar has a cannon and is ridiculously athletic.. but there's throws he makes that I'm not sure who he was throwing it too. He makes Kizer look like Aaron Rodgers in accuracy. That doesn't translate well in the NFL.
-
SportsAndLadyOnly problem with Rosen is there’s rumors he isn’t a good locker room guy. Not sure how I feel about drafting someone so high who half his college team didn’t even like.

This. The best thing for the Browns is to go 0-16. They are trying to rebuild through the draft. They are better off having the highest draft pick as possible. So what if they won 2 or 3 games this year? I would take the first pick in the draft over the third of fourth pick.like_that;1876115 wrote:I am not that high on Hue anymore, but I really don't think the Browns should reboot with another coaching staff and FO after 2 years.
